Part 89:
Kunal got out of the washroom and saw Meghna putting away her laptop.
Kunal: All done?
Meghna: Yep, had so much pending because of our half day today .
Kunal: We bunked off work (in London bunked is a slang term for missing a day of work or school)
Meghna smiled: Yes we did, we came home from lunch.
Kunal: That was your first time bunking wasn’t it Topper? How did it feel?
Kunal walked to Meghna and wrapped his arms around her waist.
Meghna wrapped her arms around Kunals neck.
Meghna: Wasn’t that bad.
Kunal: It’s cause it was with me wasn’t it? You had fun.
Meghna laughed and flicked Kunals nose with her index finger.
Meghna: No!
Kunal: Liar.
He rubbed his nose on her cheek. (Just like he did when they were talking after the dance competition! One of my fave scenes!!! Crazy Meghnal Fan here!!?)
Meghna giggled: I’ll go and freshen up.
Kunal let her go and watched her walk off.
He then went to the bed and got it ready, a few minutes later there was a knock on the door.
Kunal: Who can it be this late?
Kunal opened the door to see Naina, a very upset Naina.
Kunal: Naina?
Naina: Jeeju!
She hugged him. Kunal knew something happened between Naina and Karan
Kunal held Nainas head: Shh, it’s okay Naina. You know I can’t see my favourite Saali cry like this.
Naina let go of Kunal.
Kunal: Let’s take a seat.
Kunal sat Naina down, then shut the door and sat back with her.
Kunal: Tell me what happened.
Naina explained the conversation between her and Karan.
Kunal: Naina, first you need to wipe away all those tears.
Naina sniffles and then wipe away the water.
Kunal: Secondly, what happened between you and Karan happens between all couples.
Naina: I know that Jeeju, but I don’t know why I’ve become so cold towards Karan.
Kunal: You’ve got a lot on your shoulders, it’s understandable.
Naina: Thanks Jeeju.
Nainas face was still down.
Kunal: Is there something else bothering you?
Naina: Actually it’s what I said to Di, I didn’t mean to and…
Kunal: And Meghna knows you didn’t.
Just then Meghna came out if the bathroom, she was putting her hair up with her towel and couldn’t see Naina in the room.
Kunal: Here comes the devil.
Meghna: Kunal, I’m not a devil. Don’t go telling our little angels that.
Kunal: Our angels are sleeping Meghna.
Meghna: Then who are you talking to?
Naina: Your Chiku.
Naina got up and hugged Meghna who was taken back by the hug, Meghna smiled and hugged her baby sister back very tightly.
Naina: Di! I’m so sorry for the way I acted downstairs. I didn’t mean to be so rude, I just…
Meghna: Shh. Chiku, since when did you need to explain yourself to me? You know I know you more than you know yourself.
Naina: I know
Meghna let go of Naina and looked at her.
Meghna: Chiku, no tears.
Naina: Di, I’ve been such a bad person today.
Meghna: No, you haven’t. You said a few things to me and it didn’t mean anything.
Naina: It not just you Di.
Meghna: What do you mean?
Naina explained to Meghna about her and Karan.

Kunal: Naina, that does not mean that.
Meghna: Kunal is right, you’ve been married for 3 years and you know what marriage has in store for you.

Kunal: You need some rest Naina.

Kunal: Yes Meghna, I agree you should go with Naina.
Meghna smiled at Kunal.
Naina: No, there’s no need.
Meghna: Yes there is.
Kunal: You can’t handle the twins alone.
Meghna: Kunal knows.
Naina smiled.
Naina: Jeeju, are you sure?
Kunal: Yes, our twins will be fine without Meghna.
Meghna: It’s not the twins we’re worried about.
Kunal: I’ll try not to need you.
Kunal said while smirking.
Naina: Goodnight and thanks Jeeju.
Kunal: Goodnight and you’re very welcome Naina.
Naina was walking out and Meghna was walking behind but Kunal held Meghnas arm and pulled her into his chest.
Kunal: No Goodnight?
Meghna smiled then kissed Kunals cheek.
Meghna: Goodnight.
Kunal kissed Meghnas forehead.
Kunal: Goodnight, try not to miss me.
He winked and let her go.
Naina and Meghna went to Nairan scenes room. They both went to sleep.
It was around 6 am and Meghna started to wake up. She then felt something, someone was holding onto her hand.
Meghna: Kunal?
She whispered
She slowly looked to the other side and saw Kunal sat on the floor with his head on the bed and his hand holding onto hers.
Meghna: Pagal!
Naina was slowly waking up, Meghna looked over at Naina and saw Karan in the same position as Kunal but he was holding onto Nainas hands.
Meghna: Chiku?
She whispered.
Naina opened her eyes slowly.
Naina: Good Morning Di.
Meghna smiled: A very good morning to you too.
Naina was confused by the bug smile in her sisters face.
Naina: Why are you smiling like that Di?
Meghna motioned her head to look at Nainas hand, Naina looked over and saw Karan.
Naina: When did he come?
Meghna: Guessing the same time as his brother did.
Naina slowly sat up on the bed and saw Kunal
Naina: They’re both the same.
Meghna: This is the third time you know.
Naina: I’ve only witnessed one and this is my second.
Meghna: When we were in Boondi for your wedding.
Naina: Of course!
Meghna: I saw its time to wake them up.
Meghna: Kunal.
Naina: Karan.
Kunal&Karan: 5 more minutes.
They said in unison.
Meghna: I’ll give them 5 seconds.
Meghna let go of Kunals hand and then walked into the washroom. She came out with a mug of water.
Naina: Di!
Meghna: Don’t worry I’ll them a warning.
Meghna stood next to Kunal.
Meghna: Kunal?
There was no response, just the sound of him sleeping.
Meghna poured the water all over Kunal: Rise and shine!
Kunal woke up and jumped up.
Kunal: There’s a flood! Meghna get the babies and lets go!
Meghna and Naina started laughing.
Kunal then saw his surroundings.
Kunal: MEGHNA!
Karan was slowly waking up and then looked to see Kunal soaking wet.
Karan: Bhai? Why are you wet?
Kunal: Ask your Bhabi!
Karan looked at Meghna who was unable to speak because if her laughter, Karan saw the mug and then understood. He also started laughing.
Kunal: Yaar! It ain’t funny.
Karan: It is.
Meghna: It really is.
Naina: Aaw Jeeju!
Kunal: I’m going to get you Meghna!
Meghna was surprised so she started running around and then left the room with Kunal following her.
Naina: Pagal!
Karan: They really are.
Naina looked at Karan.
Naina: I’m sorry for yesterday…
Karan held Nainas hand: No, I understood you were in a bad mood and I know that you didn’t mean what you said.
Naina smiled.
Karan: Naina, I don’t care how angry or upset you are with me. I’ll always be here.
Naina kissed Karan cheek.
Naina: I love you.
Karan: I love you too.
Meghna rushed into her room and started running until Kunal caught her and pulled her to his chest.
Meghna: Kunal, now I’m a mess!
Kunal: That’s what you get for messing with me.
Meghna smiled.
Kunal: Why are you smiling?
Meghna: I find it cute how you still can’t sleep without me.
Kunal: I don’t like not being next to you Meghna.
Meghna kissed Kunal.
Meghna: Me neither Kunal.
Kunal kissed Meghna.
Meghna: We should get the babies back to the room.
Kunal: Let’s go.
Kunal and Meghna headed to Karan and Nainas room. They knocked.
Karan: Come in.
Kunal and Meghna walked in.
Kunal: We kinda left our babies.
Karan: You don’t need to take them.
Naina: Yeah, let them sleep.
Meghna: Yeah, you’re right.
Kunal: Good, I need some sleep too.
Kunal then sat on bed and fell back onto the pillow but Meghna pulled him up again by holding his t-shirt.
Meghna: I think now would be a time to explain how you guys got here.
Karan: Yeah.
Karan scratched the back of his head.
Karan: Why don’t you start Bhai.
Kunal rolled his eyes: Of course.
*Flashback starts*
Kunal was in his room and saw the babies sleeping but he walked around not being able to sleep.
Kunal: I bet Meghnas fast asleep.
He wondered around for a fee more minutes.
Kunal: I’ll go and check.
Kunal walked out of his room and made his way to Karan and Nainas room. As he walked there he bumped into Karan.
Karan: Bhai?!
Kunal: Keep it down.
Karan: What are you doing here?
They started whispering.
Kunal: I’m here to check on Meghna.
Karan was confused.
Kunal: Meghna is staying with Naina in your room.
Karan: Oh.
Kunal: I know why I’m walking around like a their near your room but why are you.
Karan: Well I don’t want to go into but want to go in.
Kunal: I heard what happened.
Karan: Naina told you guys? Well I’m not mad or anything I thought I should give her some space to cool down.
Kunal: You did the right thing but she still needs you.
Karan: You’re right, I’ll go in.
Kunal: I’ll come with you.
The two walked in and saw their wives sleeping peacefully.
Kunal: Look at them.
Karan: Not a care in the world.
Kunal: Here we are, needing them.
Karan: Why don’t you get the twins here and then stay here.
Kunal: Good idea, let’s go.
Kunal and Karan got Maahir and Kaira while they were still in their cot.
Karan: Now we can sleep.
Kunal: Yeah, I’m used to this position.
He said while making his space on the floor.
Karan: This is my first time, but I feel like it’s the first of many.
Kunal: You’re right about that.
*Flashback ends*
Naina: Wow, Di was right. You guys are crazy.
Meghna: I’m always right.
