Part 44:
A month went by and Kunal and Meghna were still in Boondi. They started planning a wedding for one of Vishal friends. Kunal and Meghna were at the venue putting up the decorations while Vishal had made calls for the food and sweets.
Meghna: Everything looks so good.
Kunal: We did it, our first wedding.
Vishal walked in looking worried.
Kunal: What’s wrong?
Vishal: Unfortunately the people who were meant to provide the sweets can’t do it because their kitchen bunt down.
Meghna: Oh no, is everyone okay?
Vishal: Yeah , everyone is safe. They said they’ll give us back the deposit we put in.
Kunal: The wedding is in two days, what do we do?
They stood there for a fee seconds.
Meghna: I have an idea!
Kunal: Share!
Meghna: We can make our own sweets.
Kunal and Vishal smiled.
Vishal: Bua’s famous Jelebis!
Meghna: Exactly!
Kunal: I’m sure we can get more recipes from Maa, Badi Mami and Choti Mami.
Vishal: Choti doesn’t know anything.
Meghna: Vishal!
They all laughed.
Kunal: Come, let’s go and get the ingredients for the sweets.
Meghna: Let’s go!
Naina and Karan were in the living room with Arjun and Nirmala. Dadaji walked in and sat with them.
Dadaji: What are we all doing?
Naina: Nothing Dadu, just going through some files.
Arjun: Bhais helping me with some school work.
Nirmala: And I’m just watching.
Dadaji: That’s nice.
Dadaji sat down, he was a little quite the last few days.
Naina: Dadi? Would you like some tea?
Dadaji smiled: Yes Choti Bahu.
Naina smiled and then walked into the kitchen.
Khyati was walking down the stairs.
Dadaji: I found a young boy who will be perfect for out Khyati.
Khyati walked to her grandfather and saw next to him.
Khyati: Dadu, I’m sure he’s a great guy but I’m not getting married without Kunal Bhai and Meghna Bhabi. I hope you understand.
Dadaji smiled: I understand betaa.
Khyati: Thank you Dadu.
She hugged him and then they all started talking.
Arjun was on his phone whole everyone was chatting away, he was texting Arohi.
Karan saw Arjun smiled at his phone and smirked.
Karan (mind): Young love.
Meghna, Kunal and Sharda were in the kitchen making the Jelebis.

Meghna was pouring all the ingredients into the bowl whole Kunal was mixing it all to make a batter. He was getting very messy. Meghna put the batter into the oil in pretty swirls while Sharda cooked it. Kunal had batter on his nose and tried getting rid of it only to make more of a mess. Everyone watched and laughed. Vishal took pictures of the wonderful moments and brought his niece and nephew to laugh at their Dad.
Kunal: Aree yaar!
Meghna while laughinv: When the kids have their birthday party we won’t need to hire a clown!
She high fived Vishal.
Kunal: Maa!!
Sharda: Ghudiya, why are you teasing my son.
Kunal stuck his tongue out to Meghna.
Sharda: If he were to be a clown he’d need a red nose!
Everyone laughed while Kunal dropped his mouth open.
Meghna got a piece of Jelebi and fed it to him. Kunal took the Jelebi and bit Meghnas finger when no none was looking.
Meghna: Ouch!
Sharda: What’s wrong?
Kunal: Yeah, what’s wrong?
Meghna raised an eyebrow: Kunal bit my finger.
Everyone laughed while Kunal smirked at Meghna and winked.
Choti Mami: These two!
Chote: Couple goals.
Kunal pulled Meghna to his side.
Meghna: Kunal!
Kunal: We know you’re not one to shy away Meghna.
Meghna: Besharam!
Kunal: That’s me.
Karan was in his room and called Kunal.
Kunal picked up his phone.
Kunal: Karan?
Karan: Hi Bhai.
Kunal: How are you all?
Karan: We’re all good. How’s Bhabi? The twins? Maa? And everyone else?
Kunal: They’re all good, how’s Naina?
Karan: She’s with Mom and Dadu now.
Kunal: How are Mom, Dadu, Khyati and Arjun?
Karan: They’re all good, they miss you guys.
Meghna stood behind Kunal.
Meghna: You didn’t ask about Papa.
Kunal turned around.
Karan heard Meghna.
Karan: Bhabi?
Kunal put the phone on speaker.
Karan: Bhabi?
Meghna: Hi Karan, how are you?
Karan: I’m good Bhabi.
Meghna: How’s everyone else? They all good na? And Papa?
Karan: Haan Bhabhi, everyone’s good. He’s in his study, he’s always there now.
Meghna walked to Kunal.
Meghna: Is Chiku there? What about Maa and Dadu?
Karan: I’ll go to them.
Karan went down to here everyone was sat.
Karan: Guys, Bhai and Bhabi are on the phone.
Everyone: Hi guys!
Meghna&Kunal: Hello everyone.
Nirmala: How is everything?
Khyati: How’s the business?
Meghna: Everything is good and business is going well.
Kunal: We came across a problem but we just solved it by making Jelebis.
Everyone: Jelebis?
Kunal and Meghna explained the problem.
Dadaji: I’m happy everything going is well now and better things come.
Arjun: I want Jelebis!
Naina: I’ll go make some.
Arjun: Naina Bhabi you can make them after were done talking to Kunal Bhai and Meghna Bhabi.
Naina smiled and sat back down.
Meghna: Can you take the phone to Papa?
Kunal looked at Meghna and Meghna held his hand.
Karan: Arjun, could you take it to him.
Arjun: Sure.
Arjun took the phone to NK.
Arjun: Dad? Kunal Bhai and Meghna Bhabi are on the phone and would like to talk to you.
NK: Tell them I’m busy.
The phone was still on speaker.
Meghna: Hi Papa, I know you must be busy but I just wanted to say Hi and would like your blessings for our project.
NK: What project?
Meghna: Me and Kunal have started a wedding planning service, out first wedding is in two days.
NK: Well, good luck and my blessing are with you both.
Meghan smield: Thank you Papa, also good luck with tomorrow’s big pitch. Kunal and I both know you’ll finalise the deal.
Arjun was looking at NK who was shocked that Meghna remembered.
Meghna: Well Papa, we’ll leave you to your work. Bye.
Arjun walked out and put the phone back to normal call.
Arjun: Bhabi?
Meghna: Haan?
Arjun: How comes you still remember Dads schedule?
Kunal: Meghna remembers everything.
Arjun: You should have seen his face, he was shocked and I don’t know what word to use. I think he misses you.
Kunal: We wouldn’t know and neither anyone until he tells anyone.
Meghna: I know he remembers and misses us, he’s our Papa.
Kunal: You have a lot faith in him.
Meghna: I do.
Kunal: I remember in college you were so daring, you never took a second look at the decisions you made.
Meghna: Because I knew what I was getting into.
Kunal: Like marrying me?
Meghna: Yes, I knew it was the right decision.
Kunal: Of course because you love me
Meghna laughed: I do love you.
Arjun coughed: I’m still here guys.
Kunal and Meghna laughed.
Meghna: Taking about love, how is Arohi?
Arjun: She’s good.
Kunal: More importantly how are you both? Anything new?
Arjun: Just friends for now.
Kunal: For now huh?
Arjun: I’m thinking of proposing my love to her soon.
Meghna: Sachi?
Arjun: Haan Bhabhi.
Kunal: Let us know if we can help in any way.
Arjun: I will.
They spoke to the rest of the family for a little longer and the hung up.
Naina was in the kitchen with Khyati making the Jelebis.
Khyati: Oh my gosh! These are amazing!
Naina smiled: I’m glad you like them.
Khyati: Sharda untie knows her stuff.
Naina laughed.
Khyati: It’s nice to hear you laugh after all these days. I mean you laugh but sometimes I don’t think it’s the same.
Naina: I don’t think it will be the same, without Di and Jeeju here, this house doesn’t feel like home.
Khyati: I know Bhabi.
She hugged Naina.
Khyati: I know.
Naina and Khyati took the Jelebis to everyone who enjoyed it.
Naina: I’ll go and give some to Papa.
Naina took a small plate and went into the study. She saw NK in his chair with his eyes closed.
Naina: Papa?
NK: Hmm?
He opened his slowly.
Naina: Papa, you’re working too much, why don’t I get you some coffee.
NK: No need Meghna.
Naina smiled.
NK: I mean no need Naina.
Naina: I know Di would always give you your coffee, I know you miss her and you want to call her back but you can’t.
NK: It’s not like that.
Naina: Then what is it Papa?
NK: I’m just tired.
Naina: Then maybe you should rest for a while, in your room.
NK: I will.
Naina walked out.
Naina (mind): Papa, please do what your heart is telling you.
Karan walked to Naina.
Karan: Is everything okay?
Naina: Yeah, Papa is just tired so I told him to rest for a while.
Karan: What about you?
Naina: What do you mean
Karan: You look like you’re in some deep thought.
Naina: Just think about things.
Karan: Is there any problem?
Naina: No, no problem.
Karan: Because if there is then you know that a problems shared is…
Naina: A problem halved.
Naina finished his sentence.
Karan smiled: That’s how I know we’re meant to be.
Naina: How?
Karan: We finish each others sentences.
Naina smiled.
Naina: Come on Karan, let’s sit with everyone else.
