In the evening everyone was eating dinner. Kunal sat with Dadaji as usual and Ayush sat with them eating.
Meghna and Naina were seeing everyone and then sat to eat. Meghna sat with Kunal and Naina sat with Karan.
Vidhya: How is Khyati?
Nirmala: She’s good , this is her last year in college.
Vidhya: Are you planning to get her married?
Nirmala: We haven’t spoken about that yet.
Vidhya: You should consider it.
NK: When Khyati wants to get married is her decision.
Vidhya: You’re very relaxed with that?
NK: Why won’t I be?
Vidhya: Last I remember, you didn’t vocalise any of your opinions, especially with woman making their own decisions.
Meghna: That was last time Choti Dadi, a very long time ago.
Naina: Things have changed, for the better.
NK smiled at Meghna and Naina.
Vudhya: I can see that.
Everyone went to their rooms after dinner.
Karan was putting his clothes away while Naina was getting the bed ready.
Naina: I don’t know why Choti Dadi was being very cold towards Papa.
Karan: She’s a cold person, always has been.
Naina: Hmm.
Karan: Don’t think about it too much.
Naina: I won’t.
Karan: Good, remember we leave for London next week.
Naina: Of course I remember, that’s all I’ve been looking forward to.
Karan walked to Naina and held her hand.
Karan: I’m glad your happy.
Naina: I’m with you aren’t I?
Karan kissed Naina and then they both went to bed.
The next morning Naina was in bed and was being disturbed by a nightmare. She tossed and turned when suddenly she shot up and sat on her bed. Karan felt Naina get up and also sat.
Karan: Naina?
Naina didn’t say anything, she was breathing heavy and sweating.
Karan held Nainas.
Karan: Naina, what’s going on? What’s wrong.
Karan cupped Naina face.
Naina: I… I saw…
Karan: What did you see?
Naina: I saw blood all over Di.
Karan: blo*dy all over Bhabi?
Naina nodded fast.
Naina: She had v blood all over her saree.
Karan: Naina, it’s just a nightmare.
Naina: Nightmare?
Karan: Early Naina , Bhabi is fine.
Naina: Is she?
Karan: Would you like to go and check?
Naina: Could we?
Karan smiled and held Naina.
Karan: Let’s go.
Karan and Naina made their way to Kunal&Meghnas room, Karan knocked on the door and Kunal opened it.
Kunal yawned: What’s wrong guys?
Kunal saw Naina who was pale.
Kunal: Naina? You guys come in.
Meghna got up and saw the two walking towards them.
Meghna: Chiku? Karan?
Naina ran to Meghna and hugged her.
Meghna: What’s wrong Chiku?
Naina just held onto her sister.
Karan: Bhabi , Naina saw a bad dream.
Kunal: Bad dream?
Karan: Yeah , she saw blood all over Bhabis saree.
Meghna: I’m fine though.
Kunal sat next to Meghna and Naina and held Nainas head.
Kunal: Naina, your Di is perfectly fine.
Naina let go of Meghna: I was scared.
Meghna: It’s okay Chiku, it was just a nightmare.
Naina: That’s what Karan said but it was weird and…
Meghna: And nothing else, thank you for bringing her here Karan.
Meghna said looking at Karan.
Karan: Don’t worry about it Bhabi, I just didn’t want Naina to worry.
Meghna: Now that you’ve that I’m okay why don’t you get some sleep.
Naina: Di, it’s already morning
Kunal: So? You didn’t get a good night sleep, that’s why you look pale and that’s not good.
Naina: Okay Jeeju , I’ll get some sleep.
Kunal: Good.
Naina and Karan left and went back to their room.
Naina was sitting on her bed and was thinking about what she’d seen.
Karan: Naina?
Naina: Karan, I know I’ll sound crazy but it just felt so real.
Karan: Naina, everyone has those and it’s really nothing.
Naina: If you say so.
Karan smiled: I do, now come on.
Karan put Naina to bed and then sat next to her.
Vidhya was walking past Shekhers room when she heard him.
Shekher: This isn’t going to work.
He took a pause.
Shekher: I’ve been here for almost a year and they haven’t noticed anything.
Vidhya listened carefully whilst outside.
Shekher: I’ve gained their trust, now we can do what we need to, I’ll call you later when everything is planned out.
Shekher was leaving his room when Vidhya stood in front of him.
Shekher: Mausi?
Vidhya: Who were you talking to?
Shekher: No one.
Vidhya: Listen Shekher , I don’t know what you’re planning but I promise if it’s anything to do with going against this family, my family, I will ruin you.
Shekher: Mausi Ji, you’ve got it wrong.
Vidhya: I don’t think I have.
With that Vidhya walked away.
The next day, Naina was getting ready for work she went downstairs and saw Vidhya at the Mandir. She joined her.
Vidhya saw Naina.
Vidhya spoke in a cold manner: Won’t you be late for work?
Naina smiled: I won’t, and I know that if I start the day with seeking the blessings here my day will go well.
Vidhya: Who taught you that?
Naina: Mumma did.
Vidhya: At least she thought you something.
Karan came and stood near Naina.
Karan: Maa gave both Naina and Bhabi a lot of wisdom Choti Dadi, something you should be giving but of course you won’t.
Naina: Karan…
Karan: Naina , I’m speaking the truth.
Vidhya: As you do.
Meghna was standing at the stairs and smiled at Karan and Naina.
She walked down with Kunal following her and they went to work.
In the evening Meghna was in the kitchen by herself and Vidhya walked in.
Vidhya: Badi Bahu?
Meghna looked up: Jee Choti Dadi?
Vidhya: I wanted to share something with you.
Meghna: Is everything okay?
Vidhya: I just want to tell you that I know I’m a cold person but I don’t mean to be rude. I only want best for this family and that’s the reason why I spoke rudely to you and Choti Bahu, I wanted to see if Kunal and Karan wold stand up for their wives.
Meghna: Choti Dadi?
Vidhya: It’s an odd thing to do but not all husbands are supportive of their wives. That’s from experience.
Meghna looked at how Vidhya didn’t have Sindoor or a Mangalsutra yet she wore colourful clothes.
Meghna: Choti Dadi , I didn’t know…
Vidhya held Meghnas hand: It’s okay dear, I’m happy that there are good men in the world.
Naina walked in: Choti Dadi, we’re lucky to have you care for us like that.
Vidhya held both Naina and Meghnas hand.
Vidhya: Thee should only be happiness in your lives dears, I’m sure I hurt you by insulting your mother but …
Naina: Choti Dadi, you don’t need to explain yourself, we both understand.
Vidhya smiled: I’m glad.
Meghna: Choti Dadi , you and Naina go to the dining table, dinner is ready.
Vidhya: Chale, Choti Bahu.
The 2 walked out and everyone saw Naina and Vidhya talking and smiling.
Karan was walking with Arjun.
Karan: What has she done to Naina?
Arjun laughed.
Karan: What are you laughing at?
Arjun: You Bhai! Naina Bhabi is smiling and talking to Choti Dadi, what’s so wrong with that?
Karan: The fact that she was rude to her and now she’s not rude seems fishy.
Arjun: I’m auto there’s nothing wrong with that Bhai , you’re over thinking it.
Karan: Maybe.
The next day went by as usual, later in the evening Meghna was sitting with everyone when she started feeling sick. She held her mouth and then ran to her room. Kunal followed behind her. No one else really saw.
Kunal: Meghna?!
Meghna was in their bathroom.
Meghna: In here.
Kunal walked in and saw Meghna vomiting, he held her hair back and rubbed her back.
After a few minutes Meghna cleaned herself up.
Kunal: Should I call the doctor?
Meghna: No, that won’t be necessary.
Kunal: But you’re vomiting.
Meghna whispered something in Kunals ear.
Kunal: Do you think?
Meghna nodded yes: Maybe?
Kunal: I’ll go get the things.
Meghna: Okay , I’ll wait here.
Kunal kissed Meghnas cheek.
Kunal: I won’t be long.
Kunal left and Naina entered the room.
Naina: Di?
Meghna: Haan Chiku?
Naina: Are you okay?
Meghna: Yeah , I just needed to use the bathroom.
She lied.
Naina: Are you sure?
Meghna: Of course Chiku.
Arjun called from downstairs: Naina Bhabi!
Naina: I’ll be down Arjun!
She looked at Meghna: I’ll be downstairs if you need anything.
Meghna smiled: Sure.
Naina walked out(mind): What’s wrong with Di? Where is Jeeju? I hope everything between them is okay.
Kunal came back and saw Meghna walking around in there room.
Kunal: Got them.
Meghna: I’ll go and check.
Kunal: I got a few, just in case.
Meghna: I’ll check all of them.
Kunal: Okay.
Meghna went into the bathroom and came out a few minutes later.
Kunal watched her walk to him.
Kunal: Is it…
Meghna: I didn’t check.
Kunal smiled and then they both sat in the bed.
Kunal: Well check together.
Meghna was holding three pregnancy tests.
She looked the first one which was positive.
Kunal and Meghnas eyes grew big.
Kunal: Let’s check the other two.
Meghna shook her head and then saw all three read positive. Kunal jumped up and then hugged Meghna.
Kunal: I’m going to be a Dad!
Meghna laughed: Second time.
Kunal kissed Meghnas forehead: Thank you Meghna, I love you so much!
Meghna hugged Kunal: I love you too.
Kunal looked into Meghnas eyes: When do we tell everyone?
Meghna: How about now?
Kunal: Let’s go.
Meghna: Let me clean myself a little.
Kunal: You look perfect.
Meghna: These sticks?
Kunal: Oh!
Meghna laughed.
A few minutes later Kunal and Meghna walked down the stairs.
Everyone was sitting together, Ayush was with his great grandfather, NK was sat with Nirmala and his Mausi. Sandhya, Naina and Karan were sat together and Arjun was sitting with Dadaji. Shekher sat next to his father.
Kunal and Meghna stood in front of them all.
Kunal coughed.
Everyone looked at them.
Kunal: We wanted to share something.
NK: What’s wrong?
Kunal: Actually it’s good news.
Dadaji: What’s the news?
Meghna: Dadu…
Kunal: I’m going to become a father!!!!
Everyone was smiling.
Karan: Bhabi?!
Naina: Di?!
Meghna nodded yes.
They all congratulated the happy couple.
Kunal and Meghna took the elders blessings.
Nirmal hugged Meghna.
Nirmala: I’m an happy for you Meghna.
NK: We really are, it’s great news.
Naina hugged Meghna and Kunal.
Naina: Guys, Di is that why you were upstairs?
Meghna: Yes Chiku , sorry for not telling you, we went sure.
Kunal: That’s why we checked.
Karan hugged Kunal.
Karan: Congratulations Bhai.
Kunal: Thank you Karan.
Karan went to hug Meghna but stopped.
Karan: Is it okay to hug? I mean the baby…
Arjun: Aree Karan Bhai!
They all laughed.
Meghna: It’s okay to hug Karan.
Karan hugged Meghna: Congratulations Bhabi.
Meghna: Thank you Karan.
Vidhya was sitting and smiling from a distance.
Meghna sat next to her.
Vidhya: You’ll need to take care of yourself Badi Bahu.
Kunal smiled: I’ll be here , to take care of them both.
Ayush walked to Kunal.
Kunal picked him up and sat him on his lap.
Kunal: You’re going to be Bhai.
Ayush: Bhai?
Kunal: Yes Ayu, you’re going to be a big brother.
Ayush smiled as if he knew what Kunal was saying.
Sandhya: Well , Meghna for the next 9-10 months you and Kunal will shift downstairs okay?
Nirmala: Definitely, it’ll be much easier for you both.
NK: And no more going to the office.
Kunal: Yaaay!
NK: Not you, Meghna.
Meghna: But Papa, I would like to work.
NK: Meghna Bahu, I understand but I don’t you to be under any stress and…
Meghna: Papa , I promise I won’t be stressed, I’ll do a little bit here and there.
Dadaji: Are you sure?
Kunal: If Meghna goes to work can I stay home.
Everyone: No!
Kunal: Oh!
They all laughed.
By night time Meghna and Kunal were officially downstairs in their new room.
Meghna: Thank you Masi Maa.
Sandhya: Don’t be silly Meghna , it’s the least I can do, now you both get to sleep.
Meghna&Kunal: Goodnight.
Sandhya smiled: Goodnight.
Kunal and Meghna were lying down.
Kunal: Well go to the doctors tomorrow okay? Together some medicine and just check up.
Meghna: Sure.
Kunal: Do you feel sick?
Meghna nodded and then got up to go to the bathroom, Kunal followed her and held her hair back like he did before. Meghna was vomiting into the toilet and sat down and Kunal held Meghnas hand.
Kunal: You’ll be tired with this routine , I don’t think you should go to work.
Meghna: Kunal, I don’t want to miss out.
Kunal: You health is much more important now Meghna, you’ll grow weak with all the trips to the bathroom.
Meghna: I’ll be bored home with everyone doing their own thing, Maa has to go to the Mandir with Choti Dadi as well.
Kunal: Then I’ll work from home with you for the next week, that way you’ll kept up do date and you won’t be bored.
Meghna: Okay.
Meghna put her head on Kunals shoulder.
Kunal: Don’t worry Meghna , everything will be fine.
The rest of the night went on with regular trips to the bathroom , each time Kunal was always behind Meghna, he brought her juices and water.
