The Survivors (raglak and swaron) chapter 19

Hi everyone. I got late and I am sorry for that. Your wish of Raglak scenes will be fulfilled. One more thing, Ragin and Lakshya were of 39 and 40 years repectively when the disaster occured and they met Swaron. Here is the next chapter.

Chapter 19

Ragini and Lakshya were walking away from each other.
Ragini :(in mind) oh god. Why did I have to cry. I think he felt nothing as he didn’t reacted or asked me the reason.
Lakshya :(in mind) oh god. She cried. I really can’t believe that she cried. She is a tough girl man. But maybe she got emotional. She thinks that I don’t know that she cried, but she doesn’t know that I know that she was crying. (looking over his shoulder) Even if I was infected I could have felt the tears dropping on my shirt. They were extremely hot, I must say.
Ragini reaches their camp. She, Sharon, Naira and Karthik planned and talked and discussed. One by one all of them felt sleepy and it was decided that two will rest while other two will watch. After two hours, the watchers will rest and the first two will watch. Ragini and Karthik volunteered to watch first.

I have been walking for half an hour now. The voices are really close. I feel we will reach there in 10-15 minutes. But the strange thing is that I have been thinking about Ragini all the time.

FLASHBACK
(13 years before the flares, 4 years after raglak informal convo)
Ragini and Lakshya were in boat. Ragini was rowing it. Lakshya was looking rather confused.
Ragini: what happened Lakshya? Is my rowing ability not good.
Lakshya : ni. Nothing like that. You row very nice.
Ragini: then why are you confused.

Lakshya : because i don’t know. I know it feels illogical but I truly don’t know why I am feeling so calm and feeling like load on my heart is lestening.
Ragini: i know the reason but first tell me your story of deciding to join military.
Lakshya : when i was in my 13, my parents died due to terrorist attacks. My grandparents took care of me. After knowing the reason of theur death, I decided, actually pledged to serve my country and protect it. I wanted to prevent other children from loosing their parents.
Ragini: now listen to me carefully. You know that you are protecting your country but you feel guilt. Every time you go to war, your conscience knows many will loose their family member. Every time you shoot enemy, your conscience feels that you are responsible for making someone loose their father, their son, their family member. You know they are your enemies, but your conscience knows that they are also protecting their country. (she stopped for a minute) The guilt of same is haunting you. Don’t be a victim of it.Control your self. Reason with your conscience and try to remove the guilt.
Lakshya was now feeling more calm but weak. He wanted to feel someone beside him. Just as if she read his mind, Ragini hugged him and he hugged her back.
After some time, they reached the bank and got out of boat.
Lakshya :(whispered ) Thanks Ragini.
She smiled and he smiled too.
