Surbhi Chandna on Sherdill Shergill going off-air; says, “Viewers probably wanted to see more of Manmeet-Raj romance than their marriage”

TV show Sherdill Shergill is all set to go off-air on February 10. Surbhi Chandna who is essaying the female lead in the show talked about it in an interview and shared how it was a great journey for her because it was a finite show.

Surbhi said, “It was a finite show and I am glad that there was no pressure from the channel regarding ratings. We wanted to present Manmeet as today’s woman, who becomes a mother through the IVF process and then falls in love with her office trainee. People enjoyed the office banter and romance between Manmeet and Raj (Dheeraj Dhoopar). I think the marriage track came a little too fast and this probably was not taken well by audiences. They wanted to see more of the romance and how Manmeet falls for Raj in the show than a sudden marriage. But since it was a finite show, the makers had resolved to not drag any track, never carry on with the same point for many episodes and let the show progress at a steady pace. So, I am glad that the show was shot the way a finite show or a web show is shot and I could play a completely different role from what I had done in the past.”

Surbhi, who is also known for her role in TV shows like Ishqbaaaz, Sanjivani, and Naagin 5 is now keen to explore the web platform. She said, “TV is great and while I was doing Sherdill, I was offered a few projects, but because of date issues, I could not do them. I would love to do TV if there is an interesting opprtunity, but I am now keen to explore the web medium.”
