Chapter 2:
Thanks to all for your support. It means a lot to me. I couldn’t reply to every comment but I read. Actually I am very busy. I am really very happy that you people support me and read my story.
AFTER ONE YEAR
Scene 1:
Location: unknown bridge
Sanskar stops his car a bit far from bridge and then keeps a stone on accelerator and jumps out of car. Car drowns in water and he keeps looking at it with amusement on his face. He then takes a rope and stands on bridge. He first ties his one hand behind his back and then passes second hand through that knot. At the end, it looks like someone tied him up. He then dropped himself in water. After one hour, he was again in the same private clinic, with his family doctor. AP was again crying while DP looked worried. The people near the bridge saw him and brought him to the clinic and informed his parents. Although, he was no able to believe that his son would try to kill himself but after the witnessing of so much people, he was bound to think about it. When Sanskar gained his senses, they asked him about his suicide attempt. He denied bluntly.
Sanskar: dad! it’s not like what you people are thinking. Some people looted me, took my car and then tied me up with ropes and threw me in the water. Thank God! These people saved me. I am thankful to all of them.
DP: but I am not satisfied.
Sanskar: offo dad! how should I convince you? Could anybody tie up himself like that? Tell me.
DP: ok fine, I believe you. (both go out and he gives a sigh of relief)
Sanskar: (smiles and pats his own back) good job Sanskar Maheshwari! What an acting! I think I should apply for the auditions for new movies. Wow! I will kill all of them. What was the need of admitting me in this boring clinic? Now this bed rest for whole month!
Scene 2:
Location: Gagodia mansion
Shomi calls Swara and tells her that her engagement is fixed. She starts shouting and refuses straight away but they do not listen to her and she is forced to be engaged to Sparsh. After her engagement, Shekhar comes in her room where she is crying.
Shekhar: arey, my princess! Why are you crying?
Swara: dad! why so early?
Shekhar: why are you afraid of him, Shona?
Swara: I am not afraid but I want to continue my studies. You know very well that it is my dream to become a doctor.
Shekhar: it is just engagement. If you want to pursue your career, then, we will marry you after you become a doctor. Is that okay with you?
Swara: ok dad! it is fine with me.
Shekhar: and don’t be angry with me because I am doing it for your own good. (leaves her alone)
After six months:
Scene 3:
Location: Maheshwari mansion
Sanskar comes to kitchen and is grinding something. When he takes the powder out, a servant comes.
Servant: do you need anything, sir?
Sanskar: yeah! Get me a glass of milk. (servant gives him glass of milk and he pours all the powder in glass and drinks it in one go.) what is the menu for dinner? (servant starts ranting the names of dishes and he gets irritated) enough! I am not in the mood of dinner so I am going and don’t disturb me. Ok?
Servant: yes sir!
Sanskar: good! (he comes in his room and locks it. He then takes the remote and switches on the stereo system. He plays the music in full volume and whole house starts vibrating. He lies on his bed and his eyes start turning to red. After sometime, remote slips from his hands and his eyes are closed. It seems like he is in deep sleep. Before drifting into deep slumber, he hears the knocking sounds and after sometime, everything blacks out.)
After seven hours, he is lying on comfortable bed of city hospital and still in sleep. AP is crying like always while DP is pacing to and fro in anger. He bangs on the table out of frustration and shouts.
DP: enough is enough. He has fooled us two times. What does he think of us? Stupid people who could not figure out before that he was trying to attempt suicide. When he will get up, I will set his brains right.
AP: please DP! This is not the time for all this. Pray to God that he should get up before eight hours else he might slip into coma. I don’t want to lose my son.
DP: what do you think that I do not love him? He is my son and I love him more than my any other son. But this is too much. Why is he doing all these absurdities? (they see Sanskar getting consciousness. Doctor comes and examines him when he goes out, AP comes and hugs him tightly)
AP: thank God, you are fine Sanskar. I was afraid because doctors said that you will slip into coma if you not get your senses till next eight hours.
Sanskar: don’t worry mom! Now I am fit and fine.
DP: if mother-son drama is over, then may I ask you something, Sanskar?
Sanskar: yeah sure dad!
DP: why are you doing these stupidities?
Sanskar: (innocently) what stupidities?
DP: don’t act innocent. You know very well what I am talking about.
Sanskar: no, I don’t know.
DP: I am talking about your suicide attempts, you idiot!
Sanskar: oh those attempts! (smiles)
DP: don’t show your teeth to me else I will break them. Now answer me!
Sanskar: those were not suicide attempts.
DP: (shouts) enough! No more lies. Tell me the truth. Do you think I will believe in your lies easily? You cannot deny this time because the servant himself saw you drinking that powder in milk. Why are you trying to bow our heads down in society?
Sanskar: I am not lying dad! I did not try to attempt suicide. I just wanted to know what is next to ecstasy?
DP: what?
Sanskar: should I repeat my sentence.
DP: (rubs his hands in his hairs frustrated and turns towards AP) take your son away from my sight before I murder your most beloved son.
AP: don’t be hyper! Think with calm mind.
DP: I cannot think calmly after all his stupidities. Take him away before I strangulate his neck or slit his throat.
AP: but…….
DP: (cuts her and shouts) fine! You remain here with him. I am going. Good bye! (walks out)
AP: (helplessly) where are you going, DP? At least tell me.
DP: (shouts angrily) hell! Want to come with me?
AFTER ONE YEAR:
Now, Swara is in second last year of medical and she is engaged.
Scene 4:
Location: Maheshwari mansion, Sanskar’s room
Sanskar comes from outside and is tired. He drops himself on bed and rests for half an hour. After that, he goes to washroom and is continuously searching something. After sometime, he picks up a shaving blade and sits in corner. He keeps looking at the blade and then cuts his wrist suddenly. A stream of blood starts flowing from his wrist.
Scene 5:
Location: Gagodia mansion, Swara’s room
Swara was sleeping when somebody knocked hard on her door. Cursing under the breath, she opened the door to find her brother standing there all bewildered.
Swara: (irritated) what bhai! Have you seen the time? Its 11o’clock. I have to study and moreover, I have to wake up early in the morning……
Namish: can you delay your lecture for time being?
Swara: (confused) huh?
Namish: do you have first aid box with you?
Swara: yeah but why?
Namish: then take it and come with me.
Swara: but where?
Namish: hurry up lady, we don’t have time. I will tell you all the details later. (she wraps shawl around her and takes her first aid box. They both start walking)
Swara: at least, now tell me where are we going?
Namish: we are going to my friend’s house.
Swara: you are strange. I mean who goes to his friend’s house at 11 o’ clock of night and that too with first aid box.
Namish: you are studying in medical and you have to treat a medical case. Sanskar has slit his wrist and he needs medical treatment. You are studying medical so I thought to consult you.
Swara: what? He tried to suicide?
Namish: yeah!
Swara: is he mad or what?
Namish: this is not the time for all this. Walk faster.
Swara: he is a complete psycho! I have seen him many times with different girls. He is crack.
Scene 6:
Location: Maheshwari mansion, Sanskar’s room
They reach his room and she is stunned to see his room. There are big posters of different actresses hanging all over. She felt like slapping Sanskar for this much shamelessness. She removed her eyes from posters and saw him lying on bed. Namish held his hand and tried to stop the bleeding but failed. Sanskar was in his senses and continuously bickering. She took his hand from Namish and took out the bandage from first aid box.
Sanskar: what are you people trying to do? Leave me. Namish! What are you doing here? This…… is my house and my room. Get out right now. Get lost all of you. Namish, you blo*dy bastard! Get out right now! (he raised his hands to clutch Namish’s collar but mistakenly he hit Swara’s head and her shawl fell down. Her hairs also opened and her catcher fell on his bed. She looked at Sanskar with red face and anger. She kept the bandage down and slapped him with all her might. Her fingers go printed on his cheeks and his head started spinning. Everything blurred in his vision and he saw her shouting.
Swara: shut up you idiot! Now if you utter any word from your filthy mouth, I will cut you other hand too. (he kept looking at her in awe. She was indeed very beautiful but she was angry on him that time.) now lay straight! (he never obeyed anyone even his parents but when he saw her, he obeyed her every order silently. Servant was stunned as Swara slapped Sanskar very hard but still he did not utter any word. If any other girl was in her place, he would have killed her but to his surprise, Sanskar was obeying her every order silently. After sometime, his bandage was complete and now she was talking to Namish. Sanskar kept staring at her all the time but did not speak any word.)
Swara: bhai! I have done his bandage but he still needs medical treatment because much of his blood is lost. He needs to visit hospital.
Namish: ok, I will ask him. (to Sanskar) Sanskar! Would you go to hospital? (Sanskar kept mum and just stared at Swara.
At last Swara burst out)
Swara: speak up, you stupid man? I don’t have spare time for you and I am not planning to spend my whole life with you so tell that should we take you to hospital?
Sanskar: you….I…whole life…. (jerks his head) no, you told me not to speak.
Namish: from when did you started obeying your elders?
Swara: bhai please! This is not the time for jokes.
Sanskar: yeah! I want to go to hospital.
Namish: ok fine! Swara, you go. I am taking him to hospital.
Sanskar: how would she go alone?
Namish: we are neighbours and she is my sister. So there would be no problem.
Swara: ok bhai! Bye! (turns to go)
Sanskar: Namish! She should not go alone.
Namish: arey yar! Our house is near. She would not have any problem.
Sanskar: but she should go with me to hospital as she knows medical staff there. she has given me first aid so now she should help me there also.
Swara: (irritated) bhai! Tell him that I would call my friend there and brief her about his case. Now I want to go.
Namish: ok, you go! (she goes and he turns towards Sanskar) Sanskar! Are you satisfied now? Come! (they go to hospital)
