His Soulmate..broken shards meant to be repaired (Part 1)

“They say that the feeling of being in true sadness is nothing but a mere illusion and an ensnaring darkness has only consumed a part of your mind in believing that you do not deserve happiness.

But nothing is more sadder than the death of an illusion.
We cast a shadow on something wherever we stand. We move from place to place in a hope to save things even though we know it’s futile to even try, because the shadow always follows. It’s strange how you think you know someone then one day…just poof.

Life. Life is just a small word, containing 4 letters and 2 vowels, holding much more meaning towards it than everyone thinks. Life is something that is given to people and thought of as a “Miracle”. However, as the new soul is taught what life has in store for them, they tend to form a cold heart and follow everyone’s footsteps, taking away their own unique personality and beauty. A few choose to hand over their life to the devil, so he can cradle them to sleep while the others choose to live until their life span has deceased with full potential, but sometimes…your life is taken away from you without any prior warning, and you are left dead inside even though you are breathing on the surface. And sadly, I’m one of the last ones.” Thought the girl with a poker face as her mind again wandered off to something else. A habit she has developed since her childhood. Needless to say, she could ponder over her thoughts for hours in a row and still would find herself back to square one.

“We will be there soon enough.” Staring out the car window, she merely nodded her head in response not bothering to look back as the familiar voice of her elder sister succeeded in temporarily breaking her chain of thoughts.
Arriving at the desired location, she gaze at the people around her, adorning different expensive clothing, before looking down at her white knitted sweater and black skinny jeans feeling underdressed.

Subconsciously fumbling with her fingers, she took a shaky breath to cease her racing nerves.
“You’ll be fine Ragu.” Flinching at the touch she abruptly stagger back a few steps to calm down her racing heart causing a frown to tug on her companion’s lips.
“Yeah, sorry. I forgot for a moment there that you don’t like to be touched.” Her sister apologized sincerely.

“We should head in now. Come on.” Swara urged. She was about to approach the hostess but an older looking man calls her over to a table in a more private section of the restaurant. Smiling, she walks over to them pulling along her younger sister with her.
“Swara, nice to see you.” He says as the pair shake hands. He looks over at her and smiles softly. “You must be Ragini. I’m Dilip Khanna and this over here is my wife Sneha.” The man informed, pointing over to a beautiful woman standing beside him, “and that’s my son Kunal”. Ragini just nod nervously in acknowledgement, fidgeting with the hem of her sweater.
“Sorry if we kept you waiting.” Swara drawled out apologetically, tapping her fingers on the table.

“No problem. We only got here a couple of minutes before.” Mr. Khanna smiles. “Boss is running a bit late. Things have been busy at…..work lately, but he told us not to wait.”
“So Ragini, how’s life going for you? You’re a quiet one huh? Don’t talk much?” Kunal piped in curiously, causing Ragini to nervously sink in her seat as everyone centre their attention on her. It’s not like she can help it. She can’t even greet someone without being awkward and high social anxiety disorder only made it worse.

Overwhelmed, she quickly excuse herself to the restroom.
“Do I need to accompany you Ragu?” Swara asked concerned but Ragini just shake her head in no, not intending to worry her any further. It’s a work related dinner and she don’t want to be a burden on her sister. Getting up, she quickly walk towards the entrance to get to the bathroom and immediately run over to the sink, staring back at her exhausted reflection in the mirror. Splashing the cold water on her face, she try to take deep breaths, her anxiety finally dying down.

Gathering every ounce of courage, she push the door open to walk back out and and moved down the narrow hallway. Glancing at the window, she is surprised to see the drizzling rainwater. It’s pouring out heavily and every once in a while lightning strikes in between. The weather relax her instantly and she finds herself drawn to it’s beauty. Three minutes later, she is completely drenched in the rain, facing the cloudy sky, lips curled into a soft, gentle smile. When was the last time she smiled like that?

Her trance is broken by the screeching tyres of a red Rolls Royce and out stepped a man, causing her breath to hitch in her throat. Black hair falling messily onto his face because of rain, you can easily see his eight pack abs through his now transparent white buttoned up shirt. Though the man standing a few feet across her was busy conversing with someone else at the moment, she can easily make out his sharp facial features. Standing at an impressive tall height, the man screamed DOMINANCE and POWER.

Confused, she slightly tilt her head to the side. Never has she been attracted to someone like this before. It’s completely unlike her. Enchanted, she continue to observe him from far, not able to take off her eyes from him.
Black hues clash with the dark charcoal ones and she feels something tug at her heart.
A loud growl echoes around the dead silent area and she finds herself questioning her own sanity. The way he looked at her with such a intensity slightly unnerved her. Like, he can look past her soul with those glowing red eyes.
WAIT!!!! RED EYES?!!!!!!

WEREN’T THEY BLACK BEFORE?
“Humans can’t change their eye colors right?” Sure, she is being delusional.
Glancing back one last time, the only thing she is remembers is a pair of bright red eyes and the excruciating pain on her neck before succumbing into a dark pit of slumber, encircled in between two muscular arms.
