Television sensation Shweta Tiwari is set to make a big splash in the entertainment industry with her upcoming projects. Having last appeared in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force, Shweta is now reportedly stepping into the role of an intelligence officer in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. But the surprises don’t end there—Shweta is also collaborating with Karan Johar for an upcoming web series, delighting fans with the latest news of her diverse projects.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, Shweta Tiwari revealed that her next project will be with Dharma Productions. “I’m doing Dharma Productions’ upcoming web series. In that, I play a don-like character who wears a saree and smokes cigarettes (laughs). It was a very challenging role, and that’s why I wanted to do it,” she shared.
It’s worth noting that Karan Johar has previously collaborated with numerous TV stars, including Arjun Bijlani, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Shraddha Arya, Sriti Jha, and Arjit Taneja, in the film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
While Shweta Tiwari has not disclosed many details about her role in the web series, she has expressed her willingness to take on smaller roles to work with renowned directors and actors. She mentioned in the interview, “I always told myself that I love to do things according to my liking.” Shweta, who is a mother to Palak Tiwari and Reyansh Kohli, also said, “I know that I’ve to accept smaller roles if I want to work with a certain director or an actor. I want to make my debut in different avenues every five years.”
Shweta Tiwari, best known for her role in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, has previously tried her luck in the film industry while pursuing her TV career. However, she faced significant challenges and discrimination. She recounted an experience where a well-known director, whom she chose not to name, had called her for a role in his movie but later made a disparaging remark, questioning how to pitch her to producers because she was a TV actress.
