You and me (Shivika– Chapter 7)

Anika’s POV

I leaned back in my chair and shut my eyes. I had taken notes of all the important stuff from these three big binders.

“Having a good time, Miss. Shekawat?” Samar chuckled as soon as I opened my eyes.

I gave him a sarcastic smile, “Of course! Who wouldn’t enjoying having so many presentation lined up. I just say I’m having the time of my life” sarcasm dripped from my mouth.

“Sarcastic much? ”

“Idiotic much? ” I cross questioned.

“I know it’s a lot of work but your work certainly does increase after a promotion but I know you’ll adjust to it soon” he gave me his ever so charming smile. No wonder why females in this office drool over him.

“You really think so? ” I asked for the hundredth of time because I was still uncertain about what Sanyukta just said.

“I’m damn sure of it” she replied confidently.

I let out a sigh, “But I’m still not sure that I love him that way. I mean I do love him but just… Just as a friend”

“Anika, the way you look at him is not how you look at a friend” she stated. I wonder how she’s so confident.

“OK! Even if I love him like a fr-women loves a men but what about him? For him, I’ll always be just a friend”

“Now! Now, you really are a fool, Anika! Don’t you realize that he’s so much in love with you?! The time you started dated Siddharth, he was so hurt yet he put up the facade of the brave guy and helped you with your relationship. ” I was literally shocked. Best friends in love? Reminds me of so many cliche stories.

Oh Anika! That’s not the point right now but do I really love him?

“I guess I’ll talk to you later, I need to go Oberoi Mansion” I walked out of the apartment, locking it.

“Bye darling, and do think about it. Listen to your heart or you might regret it later. Anyways, have fun” I could imagine her winking.

“Bye” I hung up and booked a cab. Yesterday, Sona paid me a visit, it was basically a surprise but little did the girl know that her brother had already spilled the beans about her
arrival.

I reached in 30 or so and as soon as I walked in Sona squealed.

“Anika didi” she gave me a hug. Since she’s in collage, I hardly see her and I really miss the old days. “I am so glad to see you”

“Uh-huh me too” I ruffled her hair. That’s one of the things I love doing.

“Not my hair” she warned. These siblings are so touchy about their hair.

“Hey Anika! Nice to see you” Om said.

“Nice, my foot. You didn’t call me even once in this whole trip. You must have found a girl that you forgot to call your friend cum sister” I rolled my eyes at him.

“Well that’s true. I did find a girl” he said casually and my eyes widened. Did he just say it, that too so casually?

“You are dating? ”

“Yup” When the hell did he became so straightforward. I don’t remember him being so straight forward.

“Pinch me” I said.

A scream escaped my lips as he pinched me hard. “You jerk! ” I chased him till we were exhausted and ended up on the sofa.

“Bhaiya” she exclaimed. “Why do you irritate her so much?”

“Aww.. You are so cute, actually all of you are except the fact that your brothers can be a real jerk sometimes” I directed the last sentence to Om.

“I love irritating you, Anika. And answer to your question Sona, I love irritating her because she makes me a kid all over again” I rolled my eyes at him.

“Anyways, where’s Rudy? ” I looked around.

“Here comes our lady killer, Rudy, gracing us with his presence” I looked at Rudy who gave a cheeky grin while I’m gave him a bromance kind of hug.

I just can’t stop gushing about the love they share. Sona is their half sister but no one cares. For them, she’s their very own sister.

I still remember when Sona was just 2 and her parents died in a car crash. Her parents were Shivaay’s uncle and Aunt. She was crying miserably and these two brothers did everything to calm her down. Rudra was very young to do anything.

The great wall of Shivaay Singh Oberoi has been like a father to them.
