You and me (Shivika– Chapter 4)

Shivaay’s POV

I turned the door knob and entered her living room. She has given me this spare key long back. I wonder if she even remembers. It will definitely be fun when she walks out of her room and sees her bestie sitting on the couch munching popcorn while watching a movie.

After a couple of minutes, I heard the sound of clicking of heels. She screamed as she must have seen my back. I turned around and was mesmerized. She looked enthralling. An angel who came from hear.

The blue cocktail dress enhanced her body curves. Her waist length, black hair were left open.

“What the hell? How did you get in? ” her voice snapped me out of my thoughts. She looked surprised. “Did you just break through my house? ”

“You gave me a spare key, if you do remember” I rolled my eyes.

“Did I? ”

“Yes you did. Now if you are done, then let’s go. We are getting late and I swear Randhir’s going to f**king kill both of us”

I walked out and waited for her come but she didn’t.

“What are you doing? ” I asked from the door.

“I can’t find my cell”

“That’s on the rack beside the couch” I replied.

“Thanks” she came out and locked the door. I drove the car to Randhir’s mansion. We three had been the best trio in collage. We used to hang out and still do when we find time from our hectic lives.

The mansion was converted into the disco. We caught up with some old friends. It’s always good to see these people. Oh gosh! Now I really regret some of things I had done in collage days. Randhir made me do all of them. These people remind of all the pranks I did.

Then entered Randhir Shekawat, with his girlfriend, Sanaya. He was the college topper and our competitor. I really miss those days.

“Sup, Shivaay? Long time, Man,” he gave me a hug.

“Yeah bro! I’m a busy man now” I chuckled.

“Everybody else is free here” both Shekawats said at the same time while rolling their eyes at me. Typical Shekawat reaction.

“Jinx” Anika said.

“You look gorgeous, Anika” Randhir complimented.

“Thanks brother” she giggled as she stressed the word brother.

“Ugh… I so hate sharing a surname with such a pretty girl” Randhir groaned and cursed his fate while we both chuckled.

“Concentrate on your girlfriend Mr. Shekawat” Anika punched his shoulder playfully.”You know what, I missed you so much” she smiled. “I’ll just go and see, Sanaya. I have so much to talk to her” she went while Randhir had a phone call to attend.

I met Nikhil, a old friend. We recalled the old days. He told me about all the stuff that happened in these five years. We laughed over some stupid things we had done back then. He kept reminding me of the silly pranks that we(me and Randhir) played on him. I regret so many things! How ironic, the one who’s life motto is no regrets have so many things to regret.

Those were some good hell days!

After a while, I realized that I had forgotten about Anika. I searched for her and found her near the bar, talking to someone. His face wasn’t clearly visible so I moved a little closer. My hands balled into fists and I felt anger rise within me as I saw her ex boyfriend, Samar.

He had hurt her so much, caused her so much pain. The image of her crying horribly is still crystal clear in my head. Even after all this, she’s here talking to him. Wait! Is she crying?

I couldn’t control anymore. I walked towards them but stopped dead in my tracks.

“You love someone? Please, you still love me” he scoffed and I rolled my eyes at him. And I’m pretty sure she was doing the same. “You really love someone? ” his smirk was replaced by a frown.

I could see her lips quiver and she was shivering. “Yes, I do”

A wave of sadness engulfed my heart and a tear rolled down my cheek. Grief filled my heart.

The girl I love, the girl who matters so much to me loves someone else. She can never be mine. This is the reality Shivaay Singh Oberoi, learn to accept it. My subconscious mind told me.

My heart isn’t ready to accept the truth. It’s still stuck, stuck with her. No matter how hard I try, it just doesn’t.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by his voice “Who’s that guy? Tell me his name” he was gritting his teeth. He’s a jerk or I should say fool. First he dumps her, hurts her and then now he’s here again, claiming that she still love him.

“Sh-Shivaay” Did I really hear my name? I clearly need a ear check up.

“That a*sh*le friend of yours?!” he pushed her away as she nodded.

The pain and grief suddenly vanished and warmth spread in my body. I suddenly felt so light, so happy. Right now, I’m on cloud nine.

As soon as I walked towards them, I felt a hand grab me. Shekawat eyed me, Randhir Shekawat and not Anika Shekawat, mind you.

“You were drooling over Anika?” he raised a brow. Why does his hawk eye has to notice every thing? “You  love her, don’t you?”

“No, I don’t”

“Please Shivaay! You know that I’m good at observing people and on top of that, you really don’t know how to lie.” he stated it as a matter of fact and I rolled my eyes. “Stop denying this fact, we both know you love her. I have seen the hurt in your eyes when she started going out with Samar.”
