A tree branch nearly falls on Mhalsa, but Martand rushes in to save her, prompting him to urge her to finally admit he rescued her. He reminds Pradhan that it is every human’s duty to protect another. Mhalsa offers a sarcastic thank you to Martand, who then greets her parents and leaves. Mhalsa notices Pradhan’s fear, recalling that even Mani and Malla had seemed intimidated in Martand’s presence, and begins to wonder why everyone reacts this way to him.
Earlier, Malla had ordered Pradhan to keep Martand in the village for several days, refusing to explain and threatening consequences if Pradhan disobeyed. Back in the present, Pradhan tries to persuade Martand to stay and asks him to forgive Mhalsa’s immaturity. Martand declines and accuses Mhalsa of insulting him, but Pradhan chastises her and insists she apologize. Though Mhalsa hesitates, Martand stops her, saying he doesn’t expect women to apologize to him—he came to teach and learn, not to seek respect. He remarks that men and women are different and rarely agree.
Their conversation is interrupted when a woman begs for help after a tiger carries off her child. Martand and Mhalsa immediately chase after the tiger, while Pradhan rallies the villagers to arm themselves. Unbeknownst to them, Malla and Diti observe, with Malla revealing he released the tiger to see if Martand is truly Shiv in disguise or just an ordinary man.
As Martand confronts the tiger, he throws a rock and knocks it aside, but the child is left dangling dangerously near a cliff. Racing against time, Martand and Mhalsa try to save the child from falling onto the rocks below.
Precap: Malla remarks that if Martand were truly Shiv, he wouldn’t be running to save his life. To test him, Malla sends Asur to kill Martand. Confronting the threat, Martand boldly says to Asur, “Let’s see who kills whom.”
