Chandi orders Mahadev to leave the Basti, sending the other women away to speak with him alone. Mahadev vows not to enter until she invites him, but Chandi, calling him Shiv, insists he must go. He reveals he abandoned his divine powers and is now a mere mortal, yet his Shakti still recognized him, addressing her as Devi Parvati. Chandi denies this identity, asserting she is only Chandi. Refusing to leave while she is angry, Mahadev sits by a tree.
Chandi accuses him of trying to divert her from her purpose and tells him to leave with the Devtas when they come. Mahadev explains that without his powers, the Devtas cannot find him, and he pleads that she is ignoring his love. Chandi ignores him and goes inside.
Meanwhile, soldiers discover the thriving Basti and report it to
Lord Narayan prays to a Shivling, chants “Om Namah Shivaya,” and locates Mahadev. He arrives, offering protection from Chandi’s anger. When Mahadev expresses his desire to enter the Basti to calm her, Narayan advises him to first prove he is on Chandi’s side before departing as soldiers approach.
The soldiers arrive to collect taxes and order Chandi to leave. Mahadev intervenes, stating that the Basti belongs to its women and men cannot enter with bad intentions. Chandi proudly declares they need no one’s support. When a soldier scoffs at fighting women, Chandi scolds him for underestimating their power. Inspired by Mahadev, the Basti women take up weapons, chant “Chandi Mata ki jai,” and, empowered by Chandi, defeat the soldiers.
One soldier tries to kidnap a child. Mahadev gives chase and saves the child, declaring the soldier will be punished. Chandi insists she will handle the punishment as it is her fight, and the soldier flees. The grateful child pleads with Chandi to let Mahadev enter the Basti for saving her. Without a word, Chandi goes inside, which Mahadev interprets as permission to enter.
The humiliated soldiers report to King Ripunjay, who decides to see Chandi for himself. He arrives at the Basti pretending to be benevolent, bringing food for the hungry children. However, he cruelly throws water on the food, revealing his true intent. He demands Chandi apologize for insulting his soldiers in exchange for food for her people. The Basti women urge her not to submit, while the watching Diti declares that Shiv’s Shakti is about to become King Ripunjay’s slave.
