‘Shark Tank India’ Producers in Legal Battle

The Cricket Bat Manufacturers Association of Kashmir (CBMAK) has taken legal action against Sony Pictures Networks and Tramboo Sports Pvt. Ltd., the producers of the popular reality show “Shark Tank India,” following a controversial episode aired on January 30th, 2024.

Representing the amalgam body of all cricket bat producers in the Kashmir Valley, CBMAK vehemently refuted claims made by the Tramboo brothers during the episode, particularly their assertion of being the exclusive manufacturers of Kashmir willow cricket bats. In an interview with local news source Kashmir Dot Com, CBMAK expressed deep concern over the alleged misrepresentations made on the show, emphasizing the adverse impact on their members’ businesses and the reputation of the indigenous Kashmiri bat-making industry.

Highlighting the superior quality of bats produced by CBMAK members, endorsed by various star cricketers, the association underscored the basis of their legal challenge against Tramboo Sports. They condemned the purported false claims made by the Tramboo brothers, asserting that such assertions have disrupted sales and harmed the image of the local bat manufacturing industry.

CBMAK emphasized its pivotal role as the legitimate representative of Kashmir’s cricket bat manufacturers, advocating for the protection and promotion of the indigenous industry’s success and integrity. With unwavering support from its members, CBMAK aims to rectify the alleged misrepresentations and uphold the reputation of Kashmir’s esteemed cricket bat manufacturing heritage.
