Sharad Malhotra’ Vidrohi likely to go off air ?

Historical drama Vidrohi featuring Sharad Malhotra may go off air soon. As per the reports, the last episode of the show will air in the first week of March. The show features Sharad Malhotra, Sulagna Panigrahi, and Hemal Dev in the lead roles. It was aired in October 11th after a lot of anticipation owing to its strong storyline and historical importance.

According to a source, “It hasn’t been able to rake in the desired ratings because of which a decision to wrap it up has been taken. A new show named Chandani might replace it or it may get a new time slot.”

In a recent conversation with BT, Hemal, who is essaying the role of Kalyani, said, “I had heard that something like this could happen, but I have no idea if it already had. I will have to confirm with the production house.”

The story of Vidrohi is based on the rebel movement of Odisha in 1817, where rebels were fighting for their rights against the British era.

Earlier in an interview, Sharad talked about working with two female leads and his equation with Hemal and Sulagna. He said, “I am working with both of them for the first time. Considering that Hemal doesn’t have much experience, she is performing very well. I like her confidence and knowledge of camera angles. Sulagna is a polished actress. She has been around for a number of years and has a lot of experience. There is an effortless chemistry between us and she is someone very easy to work with. So, yes, it has been great working with both of them. Both are very different and unique in their own ways.”
