Sharad Malhotra on his love for Historical roles; says, “They push me out of my comfort zone”

Sharad Malhotra has essayed two historical characters in his career span of around 18 years. The actor ventured into the genre in 2014 with Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. Sharad was last seen in Vidrohi where he essayed the role of freedom fighter, Baxi Jagabandhu.

Sharad talked about his love for historical characters during a recent interview and shared, “These characters push me out of my comfort zone. That’s what intrigues me about this genre and lures me into doing them. It’s also very challenging to sketch a historical character that people may have just heard or read in the books of history.”

Vidrohi may have wrapped up Recently, a portion of the show was screened at a ceremony where Sharad, his co-actors, and the makers were felicitated as well. When asked about the recent event where Sharad, his co-actors, and the makers of the show were felicitated, He added, “Right from its inception, writing, casting, making, performances and that evening affirmed my belief in hard work, perseverance, and patience.”

When asked if he is already looking for new projects, he replied, “I am exploring other mediums. I’m in talks for web shows, music videos, and films. I don’t want to restrict myself to any genre or medium. As an artist, I want to take up diverse characters and push boundaries. I want to showcase my versatility. I have become greedy as an actor.”
