Shaktiman aka Mukesh Khanna sues South Indian film-maker for using his character in his film without permisiion

Remember Shaktiman?? It was one of the most loved shows of the 90s kids and had a huge fan following in it’s times. Shaktiman was the superhero of Indian television and was a role model to millions of kids around. Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna will always be admired for his brilliant portrayal of Shaktiman and carving a place for himself in the hearts of the viewers.

Today actor Mukesh Khanna was making the headlines for suing a south Indian actor Mukesh and filmmaker Omar Lulu for using Shaktiman’s character in the film. Mukesh Khanna opines that they didn’t even seek the permission before using something so epic. Khanna filed the complaint against Omar at the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) and also urged the union to stop the usage of the character by the filmmaker in his movie.

He has also threatened the filmmaker that if the scenes are not removed he will take legal action. He got to know about this when he saw the trailer of this Telegu movie where they were using Shaktiman’s character for a dream sequence.

The filmmaker Omar took to his social media account to apologize and stated how their intention of ‘aping’ Shaktiman’s character in no way was done to show him in poor light, but an attempt to hero-worship a character that a huge majority of Indian audience has viewed.
