Once locked inside the washroom, I let my tears flow as my back slid down the door.
“First husband left you before the wedding night and second one left you after enjoying the wedding night.”
“I ruined Gippy’s character for you.”

Her voice, Fateh’s voice, Jasmine’s voice all merged into one inside my head as I wept remembering their words.
Gippy. They ruined Gippy’s character for their own selfishness.
It was my fault.
If I never came in between them then none of this would’ve happened.
My own sister wanted me gone, my husband only thought of me as his responsibility.
They didn’t want me here.
I stood up, holding the cupboard as support and walked to the basin, turning the tap on as I splattered water onto my face. My hands brushed past Fateh’s bag and it dropped, spilling out all its contents. My eyes fell onto his razor as his betrayal rushed through my head.
Before I even knew it, the razor was in my hand and I lifted it up to my slinged arm. Thoughts flashed through my head, as I decided what it was I wanted to do.
I placed the razor down onto the table, fiddling with it as I seperated the blade from the rest of it. Using the blade, I cut through the fabric of the sling, wincing in pain as my arm came free.
The blade in my hand, I lowered it down to my wrist.
“Tejo!” He banged on the door, his voice filled with pain, “Tejo what are you doing in there?”
Ignoring him, I placed the tip of the blade onto my wrist, hissing slightly as it made contact with my skin.
“Tejo. Tejo beta. What happened?”
Aunty ji. Why was she here?
I threw the blade into the pile of clothes and checked my face before unlocking the door with a forced smile.
“I was washing my face.” I told her, sorrowed at the pain on her face.
She smiled at me, patting my face, “Come down to eat.”
As soon as she left, Fateh shut the door and walked to me as I sat down on my side of the bed. I noticed the room was clean, all the mess tidied up.
