Shabir Ahluwalia on being trolled for quitting Kumkum Bhagya

Shabir Ahluwalia, who became a household name with his role as Abhi in Kumkum Bhagya was part of the show for more than six years. The actor recently decided to quit the show to essay the lead role in Radha Mohan.

During a recent interview with ETimes TV, the actor talked about his role as Mohan and being trolled for quitting Kumkum Bhagya. Shabir also shared that he misses essaying the role of Abhi and everything else about the show.

He said, “I’ve been fortunate that I get to play different characters in my life. I’ve been very fortunate with Abhi in Kumkum Bhagya, especially after all the love that Abhi has gotten. But Radha Mohan is a completely different show from what I’ve been doing and that’s what keeps me excited. Jab aap Kisi show Yaa role ke liye prepare karte ho uska ek alag he mazaa hota hai and I am enjoying the process of getting into Mohan. Of course, I miss being Abhi, and miss everything about that show but it is time to be Mohan now.”

Talking about the fans being upset with his decision to quit Kumkum Bhagya, Shabir shared, “First of all it is their way of letting out their love. I was as disappointed as I was when I quit Kumkum Bhagya. They are expressing themselves. Sometimes they feel angry and disappointed and I don’t blame them because the circumstances have been such that they have seen something in a show due to which they are hurt. So they are venting out. Social media is a place where you express how you feel. I completely understand that but I also don’t use social media a lot. I only use it when I am absolutely free and read the comments. All I want to tell my fans is that you’ve stood by me for so long and it’s your love coming in different forms. Take it easy on the trolling.”
