Leap of one month
Everywhere in college there was a great hustle bustle, smile on every face, finally their very own short lived Independence Day had arrived, freedom from studies at least for few days
Every face reflected excitement some were worried for the results as well
Swara was quite content with her work this time, she had a satisfactory smile on her face

Late afternoon
Swara was waiting for Sanskar and Akii in the parking lot,she wanted to ask Sanskar about how his exams
And Akii and Swara were to go in Swara’s car only
Now that Akii completed his course in Delhi which he was doing along with college, he got admitted in the same college as that of swasan, they both come together to their college
Swara could see Sanskar coming in her direction
Swara: Hey Sanskar
Sanskar: Oh hi Swara! How was your exam?
Swara:It was good Sanskar but I am really worried for results
Sanskar: Don’t worry Swara, I’m sure you would’ve done good
And gave one of those Sanskar Maheshwari smiles
‘ I don’t care about me Sanskar all I want is you to be happy, your happiness lies in your success.I wish you to come first like every time, And I’m sure of that’
Swara wanted to voice her thoughts but nevertheless she was happy like this,being with him as friend
This friendship was now a prominent part of her life, she happy with whatever life is giving her, not that it wouldn’t matter if he would be more than a friend to her but greediness is something which leads to destruction she believed
Sanskar snapped his fingers in front of her
Sanskar: Hey where are you lost? (Raising his one brows)
Swara: ummm nothing.You tell how was your last exam?
Sanskar: it was good Swara. Waiting for results
Just then one of Swara’s friend arrived
Isha: Swara you are coming tonight na?(she’s one of her close friend)
Swara:no Isha, I don’t like to party and all (paused for a second because her reply was little blunt)you know that right, I’m just not into the habit of parties and all that loud noises (gave a sheepish smile) so I guess I won’t be coming
Isha: This is not fair Swara, just for once come
She noticed it’s not soeasy to persuade her so after some minutes of trying she played her last trick, knowing very well how to convince her friend
Isha: Okay then, what would I do without you there, it hardly matters that I was looking forward to this party but now even I won’t go
Swara:What is this Isha? You’re blackmailing me you know that right? Playing childish tricks!( Isha just shrugged her shoulders in response)
(Hesitatingly) OKAY fine I’ll come but I will leave early
Isha:okay done(smiled as if she conquered something)
She gave Swara and went saying she would meet her tonight
Now that her friend went,Swara was biting her nails in tension and cursing Akii she was quite audible to Sanskar
Sanskar shook his head and asked: Now what happened to you?
Swara:Idon’tknowhowwillIgoakiiisnotwellanditwillgetlatetillIcomeback
Sanskar: one second what did you say? I don’t know Chinese
Swara:(closed her eyes, took a deep breath and started saying in one breath)I don’t know how will I go because Akii can’t accompany me his head was paining and he said he will not go anywhere today and I know he will get fever today because he was studying till late night yesterday and he’s not in a habit of being awake till late every time he does he gets fever
And I can’t go alone also because it will be late night while coming back and mom won’t allow
Sanskar took few seconds after she completed to understand and then said: So why did you Agree to her?
Swara: Because she was very excited for it i didn’t want her to be upset
Sanskar: oh….(thoughtfully) Simply go somehow or deny her
Swara was in dilemma because she very well knew Sanskar will never go he obviously doesn’t like parties and to convince him was a big task though he was invited aswell
All the students of second and third year decided to arrange this party as exams were over.Swasan gave their contribution but still were not in a mood to go
Swara(whispered):Will you come with me?
Sanskar although heard what she said but pretended as if he didn’t know what she was saying
Sanskar: what swara? You said something?
Swara:No no I didn’t say anything.Why is this idiot taking so much time, Donkey fellow
She was upset and without looking at him, moved towards her car
Just then Akshat arrived:Oops sorry I’m late.Come let’s go
Swara nodded, she was not in a mood to drive so gave him keys to which he gave a questioning look
Swara: Chup chap (Silently) drive the car
And she sat in passenger’s seat
Sanskar quietly observed her mood and realised something needs to be done

Sanskar’s POV
Its been almost three months to our friendship
I don’t know whyy I felt so bad seeing her with Akshat but later I realized that he’s not bad.He’s such a good person, he knows Swara very well all her likes and dislikes
I don’t know why I felt bad? Something struck knocked at my mind that time that whether i was jealous? But then we are jealous for those whom we love or like! Swara is just my friend nothing more.
I don’t want to indulge myself in this love and all. I know many girls are behind me and they try to befriend me only because they want my attention. And I seriously hate such girls.I know Swara is a true friend she has no hidden intention behind her friendship.I trust her and if she has some intention behind her this friendship I’ll never forgive her, I neither like betrayers nor I can tolerate them
However I’m pretty sure there is nothing like this
She a nice girl, she has all qualities of what a boy wants for his lady love and I’m sure whoever she will love will be a very lucky person
Today also she thought about her friend first forgetting herself
I know she’s not interested in parties and all but she agreed just for her friend’s sake despite of the fact that now she herself don’t know how she will go
She wanted me to accompany her but she didn’t have the courage to ask me, (smiled) she knows I also don’t like parties
She was so disappointed, she gave Akshat her car keys despite the fact she never give a chance to anyone to drive her car easily and that poor fellow was confused at her behavior (he chuckled thinking that)
He remembered something and smiled all over again
(He called her )

Sanskar: Hi
Swara:Hii! yes Sanskar any work?
Sanskar: yeah! but why are you sounding so upset any problem? (laughing in his mind)
Swara: no nothing like that you say why did you call?
Sanskar:tonight is party right?
Swara(not interested): hmmm
Sanskar: so I’ll accompany you there
Swara:hmmm okay bye
(Suddenly realized) what ? What did you say?
Sanskar: Don’t be shocked I’ll accompany you to the party now don’t ask why because I can change my decision any time
Swara-okay okay bye meet you soon

Evening 7:30 pm
Sanskar was waiting for Swara in his car
Sanskar:(monologue) oh God why these girls are always late I thought Swara is not like that but she…(just then Swara knocked on passenger seat’s window)
First time he was mesmerized seeing her,she was wearing a purple dress till her knees with very light makeup and her silver earings shining like stars in moonlight, most importantly her face glowed with happiness
He thought it is due to the party but little did he know that she treasures every moment spent with him and this would be one of her best moments going to a party with Sanskar, something she never expected
Sanskar opened the door for her
She got in and smiled
Swara-Thank You!
Sanskar raised his one brow, She always wondered how could he raise his one brow like this she could never succeed in her attempts
Indeed he was perfect human for her
Swara sided her thoughts with
Swara smiled again: I know why you’re going to the party so…
Thank you for accompanying me!
Sanskar wondered for a second how could she tell whatever he’s doing so easily
Sanskar:No need to say thanks Swara, we’re friends right?
Swara nodded her head
Few seconds passed in silence
Swara:Chalein?
Sanskar nodded and started the car
Swara was so busy in her thoughts that she didn’t notice how Sanskar was looking till now
Black shirt and blue denims looked so good at him, she was stunned looking at him but she couldn’t gaze himlike this so quickly averted her gaze from him but in between she was stealing glances
She felt proud that she loves him, she’s his Secret Lover

Party
Swara Sanskar were in the party since last one hour everyone was enjoying but
Both were getting bored partying is not their cup of tea
Both moved to get something to drink, due to loud noises they had to almost shout and talk and now their throats dried
One of Sanskar’s friend came there gaining Sanskar ‘s attention
By the time Swara took a glass of cola from the waiter
(Unfortunately someone spiked that glass for someone else but she took it mistakenly)
Swara sipped the drink and found its taste different but then she saw one of Sanskar’s classmate flirting with him this irked her a lot unknowingly she gulped the whole glass in one go
Few minutes passed and she found herself feeling uncomfortable to an extent, Sanskar was still talking to someone she didn’t want to disturb him so thought to wait for a few more minutes there, she started feeling throbbing headache
She saw Sanskar was alone now
She moved towards Sanskar and said that her head is paining a lot
But due to loud music he failed to hear her
Gradually the drink took over Swara
She dragged Sanskar to a side
Sanskar was shocked by her actions
Swara:Sanskaaaaar.You know youuuuuuu arrrre a bookworm (speaking like a drunk human)
Sanskar understood that she’s not in her senses
Sanskar: Oh God Swara what you drank Han?
Swara:ummm I don’t knowww, I drank something black, yayyy I known what I drank it was cold
Sanskar: Cola? Then what the hell happened to you by drinking it?
Just then he was dragged towards the dance floor by Swara
Swara: Let’s dance na Sanskar. Come
Sanskar: I don’t want to dance Swara
Swara started dancing jumping and squealing
Sanskar was just standing there cause he didn’t want to create a scene in front of all
After sometime he took her outside
Swara started hitting him with her hands: you’re velly bad Sanskar.I wanted to dance(and threw her hand up in air)
She stamped her food and sat on the ground
Sanskar looked at her with wide eyes and said: I’ll see you tomorrow
He tried to make her stand but couldn’t as she was too adamant
At last he also sat with her the parking lot where they were was almost empty
Sanskar: Swara let’s move back home
Swara: No I don’t want to talk to you You’re very bad
Sanskar: really
Swara:Han really you are an idiot .You don’t even believe in love always future future future
Sanskar was shocked as if she started some alien topic
Sanskar: Swara( smiled) what are you talking about? Yes Idon’t believe in love ormay be I do but it distracts you from your future (interrupted)
Swara:no Sanskar.You don’t know anything.It’s a beautiful feeling, probably the best.
Sanskar: how do you know?
Swara :Because I have experienced it na stupid, I’m in love (giggling)
Sanskar was again shocked:with whom?
Swara:obviously you. Wait let me show
She stood up made him stand
She sat on her knees, Sanskar was numb to react
Swara :I Swara dubey is in love with Sanskar Maheshwari. I love you since two years since the day when I first saw you.I know you don’t believe in love and all so I became your friend
But now no more.Will you accept my love Sanskar
She waited for his answer but when he didn’t reply she started crying
Sanskar was brought back to senses from her cries
He jerked her and yelled: what the hell are you saying Swara ?
Swara stood up and hugged him tightly murmuring: I love you Sanskar I really do, why don’t you feel the same
His hand couldn’t reach to hug herback how was he supposed to digest this revelation
His mind was a mess right now, a total mess
The amount of thoughts running in his mind made him feel so…so…he himself don’t know what he’s actually feeling

I know the drinking part was a little cliche but was necessary for the plot
