Second Chance chapter 5

Chapter 5:
Manik’s POV:
After having the delicious dinner made by Sneha, I was peacefully sleeping when the ringing of my phone disturbed my beauty sleep.
“Hello, Manik Arora this side.” I said groggily.
“Sorry to disturb you sir but I am calling from xyz pub to inform you to please pick up your brother from her, he is not ready to leave sir.” I heard a man’s voice on the other side and in an instant all my sleep vanished away and I was wide awake.
“Uhh, listen you please try to control him, I am on my way” was my only reply before I sprinted out of bed to reach the pub.
Reaching xyz pub, the staunch smell of alcohol reached my nose which was somewhat unbearable. But I was used to it, this was not the first time I received a call like this.

I entered the pub and saw bhai sitting on one of the counters and drinking to his might. I immediately rushed towards him.
“Bhai what is wrong with you !!!!! Please stop it.” I said taking away his glass.
“Who the f**k are you to stop me haan. Aukat kya hai teri jo tu Siddharth Arora ko order de raha hai “ bhai shouted at me, obviously in his drunken state.
“Bhai, please lets go” I again said and held him by his arm and started dragging him away.
But…. Siddharth Arora is Siddharth Arora. He will only do what he wants to do.
“Stay away from me !!” he roared at me, jerking his hand from my grip.
“Bhai please don’t create a scene. Let’s just go home” I pleaded to him.
“No, no, no… I will not go with you…..” and he fainted before he could complete his words.
Taking that golden opportunity, I dragged bhai with me towards the car and drove towards Arora Mansion. Damn, Sneha must be so worried. While driving I looked towards bhai and he was completely out. I thought this marriage will change him, he will become responsible but no he is the same arrogant person. How will that innocent Sneha manage him all her life. I just hope bhai understands his responsibility soon.

I helped bhai out of the car and just as we entered, bhai’s hand hit a vase and bang… soon Sneha came down running.
“Manik, Siddharthji !!!!!” Sneha exclaimed in shock and immediately ran to help me.
“Manik what happened? Why is he drunk?” she fired questions at me one by one as we took Siddharthji up to his room.
“Mujhe nahi pata Sneha, bhai business party mein gaye the, maybe he drank there. Don’t worry” I could not help but lie to her.
“Oh” she said, unsurity evident in her voice.
“I will take your leave now. Agar kuch bhi chahiye hoga toh awaz laga dena ok?” I said assuring her through my eyes.
“Hmmm. Thank you so much Manik” she said with a small smile.
“Arey its ok, no need for thanks. Chalo now you go to sleep, its already very late. Good night” I told her before leaving the room.
“Good night” she replied to me and closed the door.
As I laid down on my bed once again in hopes to catch some sleep, Sneha’s thoughts kept disturbing me. Its her second day in the Arora family and she has already faced so much. I don’t know how long will she be able to handle all this. But… no matter what happens, I will always be there for her and with her. Har situation mein uske saath rahoonga, uska thamme, uska saath kabhi nahi chodoonga, yeh Manik Arora ka promise hai.
With a determined goal, I soon drifted off to sleep.
