Sayli Salunke is all set for her upcoming show, Pukaar – Dil Se Dil Tak, premiering on May 27. Produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under LSD Studios, Sayli takes on the role of Vedika, a lawyer seeking employment.
Speaking about her character, Sayli shared, “The male lead offers Vedika a job at his firm, but he has an agenda behind it. Vedika accepts the job, and as it often happens in daily soaps and even in real life, where there is hate, there is also love. Initially, Vedika and the male lead dislike each other due to some misunderstandings, which I won’t reveal now because it’s a fun story that will be exciting when it unfolds. The plot revolves around what brings them together and what forces them to work together.”
Set in Rajasthan, Sayli is eager to immerse herself in the local culture. “I’ve never played a Rajasthani character before—I’ve been a Pahadi, Maharashtrian, Punjabi, and South Indian. This role is different for me. I’ve been fortunate in my career to always get different characters in each show, never repeating the same type,” she explained.
Addressing concerns about language, she added, “Some people worry about the language, but I feel that today, kids grow up speaking multiple languages. At home, you might speak your mother tongue, but with friends, you speak fluent Hindi or English. So, there’s no pressure with the language for this character, especially since she is a lawyer and well-educated.”
Sayli expressed gratitude for working with producers like Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah. “Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah are dynamic producers, and if you look at their shows, you’ll see they have made some really good ones. Usually, we look at the production house before the channel, so when it’s a good production house, we feel confident. That’s why I took on this show after seeing the production house,” she said.
“Working with Prateek Sharma, in particular, has been a great experience. His writing and thought process are exceptional. From what we’ve discussed so far, I am sure he will deliver the story beautifully to the audience. I am confident that people will love this show. I believe that if the boss is perfect, the entire crew will be the best. All the producers I’ve worked with so far have been perfect, and even though my shows may not have always run for a long time, people still remember the characters and the shows fondly. Families still watch those shows at home. I am sure this show will be one of those memorable ones that people will enjoy and recognize,” she added.
Sayli is hopeful that the audience will love and support the show, making it a success. “I believe that if you keep working hard, the results will come on their own. My new show, Pukaar – Dil Se Dil Tak, is coming soon. Many people have commented that they loved the promos and the clips. Everyone is excited to find out what this show is all about and what will happen,” she said.
