Dolphin Dubey, a single mother to her 14-year-old daughter Kamakshi, talked about the challenges and joys of raising her child independently in a recent interview. She emphasizes the unwavering support and understanding she receives from her daughter, despite the complexities of their situation. Dolphin separated from her husband in 2016 and has been on her own since.
Reflecting on her decision to part ways, the Sasural Simar Ka 2 actress explains, “There were issues, and we were never on the same page. The relationship was marked by aggression and discomfort, and I didn’t want my daughter to grow up in such an environment. So, I chose to move forward. I’m sharing this now because I believe there are many people facing similar situations but may lack the courage to make the same choice.”
While the decision was undoubtedly challenging, once Dolphin committed to it, she remained resolute. She recalls, “It wasn’t an easy journey, but I emotionally fortified myself for the sake of my child. She was only seven years old when we went our separate ways. As she grew older, I explained the situation to her, and now she comprehends it. We share a close friendship today. I confide even the smallest of issues in my daughter, and she never passes judgment on my decisions.”
Dolphin, who will soon appear in the upcoming TV show “Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai,” had initiated divorce proceedings, but the process encountered delays. She elaborates, “We had initiated the divorce process, but in 2018, I suffered a heart ailment, leading to a postponement. Later, when I recovered, the pandemic disrupted proceedings. I intend to resume the divorce proceedings soon.”
