Sasural Genda Phool 2 which was aired just three months ago was in news recently for being moved to a new time slot from 8 pm to 7.30 pm. Jay Soni, the male lead of the show, confirmed the news in an interview with BT.
The change of time slot was a chance for the makers to revive the show, but now it seems like that might not happen anymore. According to the latest reports, the show is now all set to wrap up on April 15. The shoot will conclude by March-end and the team of the show has been informed about this development.
Sooraj Thapar, who essays the role of Alok Kashyap on the show, confirmed the news in an interview with BT and shared, “Yes, it’s true that the show is going off-air on April 15. We are working towards giving it a logical conclusion. SGP will always remain close to my heart and in fact, it will be special for everyone associated with this show. So, it is definitely heartbreaking to bid it adieu prematurely. Also, it aired on another channel and that, too, must have impacted the ratings. Having said that, you can never pin the blame on anything in particular. We were certain that we would be able to recreate the magic of the first season. However, unfortunately, it didn’t happen.”
