Chapter 16 – The naming ceremony (A small leap)
10 Months Later…….
“Time flie’s it wait’s for no one, everything change’s but I won’t, atleast not until you want me to. It’s our baby’s naming ceremony today and just look at you sleeping like a baby yourself. Till when will you make me long for your love Sanskar, I know your doing this on purpose to tease me, to annoy me. Fine don’t get up for me, but atleast for your son. It’s such an important day of his life today Sanskar you can’t be late for it…”
“Ragini!!”
“Coming Mom !” She looks at a sleeping Sanskar and caresses his face lovingly, ” I LOVE YOU ..” She kisses on his forehead and leaves.
The Maheshwari mansion is decorated beautifully, Sujatha yells at a decorator for not bringing the flowers on time
“It’s my chora’s naming ceremony today and you forgot to bring those flowers! Who appointed you for the decorations? Even I’m better than you ..”
“Calm down Mom. ” Ragini say’s keeping her hand on Sujatha’s shoulder, “Take a deep breathe.” Sujatha complies, “Very good, now go and get ready or people will say Sujatha Maheshwari’s bahu is so cruel, she’s making her work so much that she couldn’t get ready properly!”
Sujatha holds her ears, “Don’t you ever call my bahu cruel again, she’s the best in the world! and yeah after this go to your devrani. I bet she’ll be a complete mess by Now!” Ragini nods at her and she leaves smiling.
Ragini instructs the decorators and turns to go, “Ragini Beta,”dp calls her.
“Yes Badepapa?” She turns to him, ” Keep these file’s safe in the locker and are the preparations done? ”
She nods, “Yes badepapa, the guests and panditji have arrived to.” Dp keeps a hand on her head, “What we would done if it weren’t you.” She smiles and leaves .
“Swara!” Ragini knocks at the door and it opens slowly, ” Wow! such a pretty room!” Swara pouts at her cutely as she laughs uncontrollably, “Laksh… What the hell are you doing with my son?”
Laksh is trying to make the baby wear diaper’s. But the way he’s done it Ragini feels pity for her son. She picks him up, “Who pins up a baby’s diaper’s with hair clips Laksh?” She looks at the kid and he smiles at her cutely, “Awww mumma papa are so illiterate, always troubling my baby.” She nudges him and he chuckles cutely
“Shaitaan, why does this dad son duo’s face expression’s always become weird to me and so cute to you?” Swara makes an angry expression
“That’s because you my wify are the trouble maker and my sweet bhabhi is our saviour to death.” he looks at the baby asking him, ” Isn’t it champ?” The baby smiles at him nodding slightly, as if he understood and agrees to what his daddy cool said .
“Huh! Whatever don’t forget she’s my sister first,” looking at Laksh, “And then your bhabhi,” and then the baby, “And finally your maasi.”
Ragini smiles at her childish tone, “Acha baba, now listen to this sister of your’s, go get ready and Laksh you too . Panditji is here and badepapa is down waiting for you go fast.” Ragini makes the baby ready takes him with her to her room, as she opens the door she whisper’s in his ears, ” Badepapa…” The baby smiles widely looking at a sleeping Sanskar, as the monitor besides him goes beep beep .
They go and sit beside him on the bed. She makes the baby lean near his face, as if he’s kissing on Sanskar’s cheek, she makes him away a bit and the baby looks at her and again at Sanskar. It tries to touch his face examining him cutely .
He touches Sanskar’s cheeks trying to hold him, but as he doesn’t respond he looks back at Ragini who explains him cutely, “Badepapa is in deep sleep, but he can feel you, listen you, but can’t respond back or move.” She say blinking her eyes at him and the baby pouts just like Swara, she chuckles and nudges him.
Meanwhile Swalak come to the room, Laksh is about to enter when Swara holds him back and signs him . The duo smile looking at Ragini talking to their just 1 and half month old son, who is listening to her so intently as if he understands her pain. They knock and Ragini turns, ” Maa is calling, you come fast.” Ragini nods and takes the baby with her.
The naming ceremony begins, panditji does some rituals as Swalak sit opposite to him holding the baby and Ragini sits beside Swara who is nervous a bit. “The letter is R, ” panditji says looking at the kundli, “Decide a name and whisper in the baby’s ear for three time’s”
Laksh nods and looks at Swara who smiles widely and whispers in his ears. Laksh takes the baby in his hands and whispers in his ear as he looks at Swara whose smiling so widely by now as laksh speaks, “He’s not only our son but a ray of hope for us, he’s our soul, he’s our RUHAAN …”
All clap and then our Ruhaan is made to sleep in his cradle, as all shower him one by one with gifts and blessings.
Swara hugs Ragini tightly as she whispers, “Every person in my life whose name starts with R has always been the best for me”
As they separate even Laksh mimics her the same way hugging Ragini, “yeah bhabhi everyperson in my life…” Swara punches him.
“Ouch !! Why do always you girls have to be so emotional regarding everything?” Ragini giggles, “That’s because we are mother’s and we have the right to be emotional. And by the way who has stopped you from being emotional? You can cry too devar ji !”

“Sujatha ji, I feel really sad for you and your bahu, bichari…”
“Thank you so much Mrs. Vadera, I’m glad you showed your pity on me, but you know at-least my bahu and beta are in the same house with us. But your’s, I feel awefull for you but then they say it’s karma that always come’s back. Just like you left your in-laws, your children followed the suit but still keep your hopes high, maybe someday even they might feel sad for you and come back.” She sniffs, “Coming jiji!!” She fake smiles at the lady, “Benefit’s of having a joint family you see, see you later Mrs.Vadera!” She leaves and Swara stops her midway
“Wow chachi! I’m impressed!” Sujatha gives her a attitudal look ” I know, I know.!” They both laugh.
The Gadodia’s are busy playing with Ruhaan who is in Ragini’s arms fiddling with her Mangalsutra.
“Now it’s Nanu’s chance to hold Ruhaan. Come here,” he takes Ruhaan from Ragini and starts playing with him.
“Ragini gadodia!” A man calls out from the entrance and all turns towards him. Ragini’s face has a wide smile, “Tarun!”
Tarun Kapoor along with his elder sister Tamanna Kapoor enter the Maheshwari mansion.
“For a hundredth time, it’s Ragini Maheshwari now Mr. Kapoor!” she forwards a hand towards him as they shake it lightly. Tamanna takes her into a hug, “You’ve become so beautiful, but still the same innocence in you Ragu!”
Ragini smiles, “Thanq so much and you’re still the same hot and happening.” she winks at her .
Dp and the Maheshwari’s welcome them. Ragini and Tarun were childhood friends. They know each other since they were 6. Due to some personal reasons the Kapoors had to leave Kolkata and shift and since then they were in no contact. Tarun is a doctor by profession and the day when Sanskar was injured he was called in to perform the surgery.
“I wish I could do something for him,” Tarun exclaimed. “You have done a lot for us Tarun. The fact that he’s alive means a real lot to me. And one day he’ll be back with us soon.” She smiles at him reassuring as he thinks, ” You still haven’t changed a bit Ragini, the same smile, the same loving and caring nature for your loved ones. I really admire you alot, My love for you keeps on increasing day by day. And I know you’ll surely reciprocate it one day, That day will come soon.”
Ragini waves infront of a thinking Tarun, as he comes out of his world saying “Haan?” Ragini laughs “Tarun!” She replies teasing him, ” In whose world were you lost my dear friend?”. She hits his chest lightly as he smiles at her, ” Chalo, One good deed done from my side today.” He looks up at the ceiling, ” Bhagwan ji! Lessen my one bad deed okay?”Ragini makes a cute quirky face and hits him again a bit hardly as he exclaims, “Ouch! Mrs. Maheshwari that hurt!”
Ragini shakes her head exasperated, ” You deserved it Doc for being late and now doing stupid dramas and talks!”
“Ahh! that reminds me. I need to wish Mr. Ruhaan and give him his gift. Where’s he?” Ragini smiles and searches for him as they both look around the hall they find the young boy being the centre of attraction as a few girls call his name and ask him to come to them. But he straightly refuses by shaking his head and looking behind them as he finds Ragini he starts crying “Aww! Ruh beta, What happened?” Shekhar looks at him concerned as he keeps crying, Ragini rushes towards him and takes him from Shekhar. Ruhaan stop’s crying, Shekhar looks at him astonished and Tarun replies looking at Shekhar, “Looks like someone is too fond of your daughter uncle” Shekhar smiles agreeing.
“Well, For the matter of fact Tarun, everyone here is fond of Ragini.” Swara comes from behind hugging Ragini cutely “My sister is the bestest you see.” She smiles cutely as he nods at her in agreement.
As the guest’s start leaving, Tarun visits Sanskar and sits in front of him,
Flashback :
Sanskar’s been taken to the hospital, Ragini’s holding his hand the whole time shocked and in utter disbelief crying profusely
“I never wished my forehead to be filled with your blood sanskar !”
Sanskar smiles at her weakly ” Well It’s just that i couldn’t wait for you to be called as Mrs. Sanskar Maheshwari…..”
He falls back unconcious and Ragini’s hand slips from his as the doctors take him inside the OT. Ragini’s vision starts blurring as tears continuously flow through them. Swara come’s and holds her and Laksh rushes to the doctor, “It’s emergency, He’s been hit on his head if the operation doesn’t happen on time we won’t be able to do anything”
Laksh holds his collar tightly, “What the hell do you mean we can’t do anything??” Rp and Dp hold him back.
Dp apologetically, “I’m sorry doctor, you please do your work” he looks at Laksh “Laksh, behave yourself! If you fall week at this moment who will look at Swara. She should not be here in this condition go calm her down.” Laksh’s eye’s become gloomy as he nods and goes towards them.
A Man comes rushing, he’s wearing a black hooded jacket, “I heard there’s a emergency over here. I’m doctor Tarun here’s my License. I’m a neurosurgeon.” The doctor shakes his hand “Thank you doctor Tarun, You’re just on time. Dr. Gupta will brief you in a moment it’s a attack on the behind of the head ”
The doctor’s hurry inside the Ot as the Man looks at a dreadfull Ragini one last time.
The Operation gets over as the doctor’s and Nurses come out all go towards them, “Well it was really serious case but all thanks to doctor Tarun, Mr.sanskar is safe Now. ” All have a sigh of relief as the doctor continues, “Though we need to keep him under Observation for the Next 24 hours. Lets Hope for the best!” The doctor smiles and leaves, just then Tarun comes out and smiles at them
“Thank you Doctor, Thank you so much! ” Ragini smiles at him through her tears. He nods at her “He’ll be shifted into another ward soon then you all can go and see him.” He leaves from there as Swara hugs Ragini.

Sanskar is unconcious on the hospital bed with Ragini sitting besides him holding his hand. She looks at him lovingly as Swara keeps a hand on her shoulder, “I’m so sorry… ” a tear trips her face and Ragini holds her hand and makes her sit next to her “Swara, it wasn’t your fault at all. And we need to know who did it because he can hurt you again.” Swara nods as Laksh comes in “Ragini come now, you both need to freshen up or will fall sick. I’ll wait here with bhai”
Ragini “No Laksh you take Swara I’ll be here with Sanskar.” Swara pouts, “I should be here with Sanskar right now. He’s in this condition because of me”
Laksh sighs and sits down on the hospital rooms floor. He makes a baby face and starts complaining, “See bhai, See how these both turned out to be. We warned you so much we should have never married these sisters, It’s so difficult to make them understand that,” he gets up “We need some mens time you womans. So get your those legs to walking and straight out.” He goes near Ragini and looks at Swara, ” Making your sister understand is nearly impossible but I know my bhabhi won’t dissapoint me.”
Ragini is about to say but he stops her, “Please, when bhai will get up and see that his wife is in this condition all weary and tired he would also start thinking like papa then. How irresponsible and all that stuff papa calls me would be proved right!”
Ragini tries to make him understand, “But I want to be next to Sanskar when he wakes up.” Laksh smiles, “It’s been just 6 hours he won’t wake up so soon. And I’ll call you as soon as doctor Tarun comes for his checkup. Trust me, I won’t leave bhai’s place till you come. And if you allow I would hold his hand the same way your doing.” He teases her and gets hit by both the sisters, “Ouch!”
“Stop being cheezy Mr.Hubby , Come Ragini lets go and come fast before he starts crying here.”
Ragini chuckles as Swara drags her outside the room. Laksh sighs relieved and sits next to Sanskar, ” These woman I tell you!”
He shakes his head and smiles, as his sight catches a unconcious Sanskar he gets emotional “Get up soon, I can’t handle these two sisters alone brother.” He holds Sanskar’s hand and smiles.
“Badimaa, Me and swara are leaving for the hospital we’ll take the lunch with us” she takes ap’s ashirwaad who smiles and replies
“Beta take care of yourself too and don’t worry he would be fine soon.” Ragini nods smiling at her and they leave.
A long chappy for all you people and now the chapter’s will be long and guys don’t worry I assure you I am no tv serial writer so I won’t drag the Sanskar’s coma drama for long, and you would find a lovey dovey Ragsan soon here, so please don’t stop reading.
