Chapter 12 – Engagement Day!!
Ragini laughs on the phone while Sanskar pouts : Really, how does that seem funny to you? I mean bhai and Lucky were trying to scare me for marrying you and your laughing!
Rags smiles : Arrey my cute Mr.Idiot, you seriously think I’ll have a fight with you on our date? and yeah I thought my Sanky wanted a cute princess.
Sanky chuckles : You know me so well haan? But for that my queen has to come to me first, right?
Rags blushes : Yea, Yea, now goodnight or else Swara will eat me raw if I’ll have darkcircles tomorrow.
Sanky : Acha listen, I love you …
Rags smiles : Love you too and Yeah, dream about me with you a romantic one not the one your brothers showed you!
Sanky brushes his hair smiling : Why to dream when your gonna be mine after five days?
Rags : Who said I’m gonna be yours? Your gonna be mine Mr.Maheshwari, all mine.
Sanky : All right Mrs. Sanskar Maheshwari, I’m all your’s! Now have some good sleep and yeah take good care of yourself Jaan.
Rags : You too and yeah I love you even more.
The phone goes blank before he could reply; “so before shaadi you became joru ka gulam sanskar maheshwari?” said Swara grinning.
Laksh complains sadly : Not fair bhai, I thought you to be strong atleast till the marriage rituals happen.
Sanky smirks : I thought you were on your BHABHI’s side! (He emphasizes)
Laksh smirks : That I am, I mean she’s the only one in the world who can control your bhabhi.
Swara hits Lucky : huh! When she comes here then we’ll see who controls whom! You know what, when maa said I should stay there tonight I didn’t agree as I thought here they would need me for the preparations. But now I’m going there and would come back only after the wedding gets over and who knows I might even not come back again ever!
She throws each of them their clothes and goes from there miffed. Sanlak just stare at her as she leaves from there miffed
Sanky astounded : Woah man! what was that?
Lucky who’s mouth is hung open at Swara’s reply exclaims : Even I don’t know, I mean did I offend her that much?
Sanky shrugs : No, but you could have just said a sorry atleast.
Lucky : Why should I? Just because I’m her husband.
Sanky : Well, whatever it is brother you’ll realize it when you’ll miss her.
Lucky : lets see who’ll miss whom!
The night fades and the morning light brings happiness into the baadi. The happiness into her life she deserved. It’s your day Ragini, the trailer of her five days latermarriage, that’s her engagement .
All are busy at baadi with preparations, while our cute Swara is instructing anyone and everyone she finds.
Swara hits her forehead lightly : Arrey, the flowers over there yeah arrange them properly and the sweets why aren’t they here till now?
A man : Woh madam, the engagement is in the evening till then they’ll be here.
Swara : And what if they say no at the last moment? Where will I go running for the sweets? it’s my sisters wedding!
Rags comes there interrupting her sister : And for the hundredth time it’s my engagement Swara, not wedding!
Swara annoyed : And for the thousandth time Ragini, you are supposed to be in your room resting and giving orders as to what you want your engagement arrangements to be like and not sweating here and letting the glow of your face get dull!
Dhruv and Harsh chuckle and she glares at them : You two are the catering arrangements done?
Harsh casually : Chill Swara, it’s just engagement not wedding so why so….
He backs off as she gives him a death glare : Are they DONE?
Harsh nods and Swara sighs: Good and bhai are the lighting arrangments checked?
Dhruv : Yes and the jewellery has been polished and bought too.
Swara gets relieved and sits back on a chair : All done see before the time, now we have lots of time to be dressed and get ready for the evening
Others too get relieved by seeing her thus, finally Swara’s normal but hey she gets up with a jerk again!
Swara : The dress, has it been altered ??
Rags rolls her eyes at her : SWARA ! (She holds her shoulders and makes her sit ) Now..
Swara gets up : But Ragini…(Ragini glares at her and she sits there cutely pouting at her )
Ragini : Finger on your lips (Swara complies ) Now here, drink this water and cool down for some time there’s still half the day for my engagement and if you stress like that who will take care of me? Dhruv bhai and elders will look after everything.
Sumi : Shona, Ragu is saying right this much stress is not good for your health. And see now baba and I will look after everything you just take care of your sister .
Swaragini go upstairs and take some rest. Its evening, the engagement of our Ragsan, Sanskar is getting restless to see Ragini. The family member’s have decided that the engagement, Haldi and Marriage will happen at baadi and Mehendi, sangeet and reception at Maheshwari mansion. The maheshwari’s come at the baadi which by now has been decorated so beautifully. The night seems beautiful, Sanskar takes everyones blessings and Swara come’s there just then. Sanskar tries looking behind her but doesn’t find Ragini, he get’s sad a bit and Swara goes and stands besides him. She hands him a small velvet box and a note
Swara : jiju, this will make you look even more perfect.
She goes from there, Sanskar opens the note first, “Mr.Idiot, a small token of my love for you. I would love to see you wear it today. Hope you like it – Your’s Mrs.Sanskar Maheshwari 🙂 ”
He opens the box to find a beautiful diamond broach. He smiles murmuring “I love it ” and a smile spreads on his Face.
Swara comes down holding Ragini, the bg music play’s “(Swara)ek dhoop chanchal hai (Ragini ) ek chandani phir bhi ek duje ke liye bani swaragini ….”
All are mesmerized to see them, so beautiful! Swara is wearing a blue saree and Ragini a pink lehenga with their better halves completing them. Lucky’s wearing the blue sherwani Ragini selected for him and Sanky’s in a light pink sherwani . Swara makes Ragini stand next to Sanskar and they smile seeing each other. When Ragini notices the broach on Sanskar’s sherwani she smiles even more, “I love it, manna padega meri choice bohot acchi hai. ”
Ragini looks at him angrily : How come this is your choice?
Sanskar smirks : Well, I chose you and you chose this broach. So indirectly it’s my choice only na?
Ragini smiles : But you’re my choice right? so indirectly finally it’s my choice that is awesome!
Sanskar surrenders : Okay baba! Noone can win you with talks, now day by day your proving to be Swara’s sister .
Lucky interrupts : hota hai bhai hota hai, remember Adarsh bhai’s and mine advice you still have time.
Sanskar : Bhai first go handle your one before she eats you raw!
They look at swara who’s standing next to Ragini and ignoring Laksh .
Dp : so lets begin the ceremony then.
Shekhar nods and Sumi brings the rings . First, Ragini makes Sanskar wear the ring, all clap and then Sanky makes her wear the ring, Sumi wipes a tear of her face and Shekhar keeps a hand on her shoulder side hugging her. Swara hugs Ragini tightly. Ragsan take everyones blessings and then Uttara comes holding the camera : Now it’s photo time, so everyone please obey my commands Uttara maheshwari wants perfect pictures to show to her bhanja and bhanji’s !
Everyone laugh at her, after the picture Sanskar takes the mike, “Well everyone, thanq so much for being a part of our engagement day, thanq so much for coming here and blessing us with your presence. Today is the first step to the most important decision of our life our wedding. Many people have blessed me but the most wonderful blessing of my life is given by you maa baba, thanq for giving me your daughter she’s the best thing that has ever happened in my life and now thanq to badepapa, badimaa Mom and Dad for if it wasn’t you guy’s then this day would have never come into my life . Thanq Lucky and Swara for always being there if it weren’t for your stupid ideas and ways, I don’t think this would have happened! And last but not the least (he kneels down infront of Ragini) thanq Ragini, for coming into this idiot’s life because this life without you would have been nothing my love……
