SANGINI – A NEW BEGINNING! CHAPTER 66
Recap – dp realises his mistake… ragini makes mistakes
The episode starts in the garden of the palace where everyone is gathered in yellow, oranges and white clothes for the haldi ceremony. Arnav and khushi are sitting on the stools.
Most of the guys are still in the last night’s trip, laughing and making jokes. Sanskaar is wearing a white kurta- pajama and his eyes are covered with sunglasses. Everyone is present and giving their blessings to the couple.
Ragini is looking at sanskaar but he’s too busy with his guy gang. He doesn’t know whatever happened between the girls last night. Now it was sanskar’s turn to apply haldi. He first applies decently to khushi but his bad boy comes out while applying to arnav. He covers arnav’s face with haldi and calls the other boys as well. And this called for the haldi fight.
By the end of the function everyone had turned yellow. Dp, rp, ap and sujata were happy seeing sanskaar so happy. They blessed him. The guys run around the garden hitting each other and jumping on one another.
After the haldi ceremony, the bride’s side took over one hall to perform the chuda rasam. Khushi’s mamas ( maternal uncles ) made her wear the red chuda ( set of wedding bangles ) and covered them with a cloth. Everyone blessed khushi.

The Ghadoli rasam was also completed and now it was time for Sehrabandi. All the groom’s side people were ready. Arnav looked hot and dashing in dark red/ maroon sherwani. Sanskaar and abhay looked handsome in indo western dark blue and cream outfits respectively. The guys were looking dashing.
Pooja was wearing a beautiful magenta saree and had kept her hair open with loose curls and jewellery. Whereas ragini was wearing a mint green lehnga with golden bouse. A beautiful high bun and diamond jewellery were completing her look.
Arnav’s parents made him wear the sehra after pandit ji did the pooja. Then all the relatives and friends put money garland in arnav’s neck. ( guys i hope you get this ) later they made him sit on the horse and proceeded towards the temple. The band was there, everyone was dancing in front. It was a proper baraat and everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Sanskaar, ragini, pooja, abhay, anjali, shyam, their parents and relatives everyone danced.
They finally reached back to the palace where GG and payal along with other girls were standing for their welcome. GG does his arti and pulls his nose. Everyone laughs. The sisters ask arnav to give them the sagan of Rs. 51,000 if he wanted to get inside.
Everyone from the groom’s side say noooo… like this it took 15 mins for them to agree on Rs 11,000. Arnav gave them the money and everyone entered. The photo session began.
Amidst all the wedding things, ragini was trying hard to reach sanskaar but he was actually very busy. It was his best friend’s cum brother’s wedding, he was fully helping his dad with the preparations and guests. She tried to talk to pooja and abhay but they too didn’t gave her any satisfying answer.
Khushi then entered the huge hall with Payal and Garima on either side. Din shagna da played in the bg. She looked beautiful pink lehnga and green chunri covering her head. She was looking so pretty. Arnav got lost in her. All his gang was standing next to him including sanskaar.
The photographer clicked everyones pictures. Khushi came on the stage and their couple photo session began after which guests came up on stage to give them gifts, sagan and blessings.

Sanskaar again got busy and ragini was following him everywhere. They finally clashed with each other.
Sanskaar ; oh sorry… oh ragini you?
Ragini : yes me.. why are you ignoring me?
Sanskaar ( chuckles and moves here and there doing work ) : common yaar… i’m doing work… if you need something tell me…
(( trust me guys, there’s actually lot of work which the close people of bride and groom have to do ))
Ragini : stop and listen to me sanskaar
Sankaar ; ragini seriously i don’t have time.. we’ll talk later……………… if possible.
He says after a pause. Ragini just looks on shocked. Someone calls sanskaar and he leaves. Ragini’s eyes welled up. She sniffs. Addy came there finding her. She smiled and went with her getting busy with the maheshwari’s again. Sanskaar sees this from far, smiles and carries on.

It was time for varmala now. DJ played ‘tera ban jaunga” everyone hoots. Sanskaar, abhay, shyam and nk lifts arnav up….. the guys’ side cheers.. khushi looks at arnav and requests him to come down. He nods his head and laughs. Khushi makes a sad face and then a naughty one. She looks at sanskaar and then at arnav. She winks and motioned to put the garland in sanskaar’s neck when arnav suddenly got down and stood in front of sanskaar and wore the garland. The boys complain and sigh while the bride’s side hoots. Arnav also makes khushi wear the garland. Everyone shower flowers on the couple.
All the guests starts having the dinner. While Arnav’s parents are handling their guests, sanskaar and shyam takes care of the catering.

Ragini catches pooja and take her inside the ladies room.
Pooja ; whats wrong??
Ragini : whats wrong?? ( she holds her arms tightly ) pooja why are you all behaving like this?? Sanskaar is saying we’ll talk IF POSSIBLE… what does he mean by IMPOSSIBLE….
Pooja : why do you think this is about him and not you?? He has given you everything di… he’s happy if you are happy but you have completely forgotten him….
Ragini : no pooja it’s nothing like that please…. you know that’s not possible
Pooja : don’t explain this to me di…. i cannot help you.. you have hurt him, talk to him….
She leaves but turns again.
“and if you think you are going to hurt him again… then please don’t talk to him.. please”
Ragini looks on with tears in her eyes. Pooja leaves.
< RAGINI’S POV >
I don’t know why they all are behaving like this? What wrong did i do? Everything was going well then what happened suddenly? What’s bothering sanskaar? He’s even ready to go back to Kolkata…. oh god what should i do?
She thinks. She cleans her face and then heads out. After she leaves swara comes out of the cubicle. She smiles ear to ear.
Swara ( smirks ) : tch tch tch sanksaar… you lost.. you have lost now you wont be able to keep my sister away from me. You insulted me and my parents. Now i’ll see how you live happily without your duppate wali dost….
She washes her hand, gives her a victory smile and goes out.

Now was the time for family dinner. Most of guests had left including the maheshwari’s. The dining table for the bride and groom, close friends and family was set. Arnav and Khushi sat in the centre table under the chandelier. VR and SR sat on the head of the table chairs. By their one side Khushi’s parents sat followed by relatives.
On one side of ArShi sat Payal Akash and Anjali Shyam and on the other side RagSan and Pooja Abhay sat. Opposite arshi sat khushi’s younger sisters. And other relatives and friends took up other places on the dining table.
Food was served and the worst thing was happening. Photographers were taking pictures while they all were eating. ;P
Arshi fed each other. Everyone teased them. Sanskaar was in chill mood and so was everyone. Ragini tried to talk to him again but of no use. She then decided to let go of now, they’ll talk tomorrow.

Now it was time for the pheras. It was almost 3 in the morning. After taking rest for an hour or so everyone was back at the mandap. Arnav was there doing the pooja. After a while khushi was also called and they both did the pooja. Everyone was sleepy yet full of excitement.
After about half an hour the pheras were done and now aranv had to put sindoor in her hairline and mangalsutra around her neck.
Ragini got emotional seeing this. She recalled how she and sanskaar talked about marriage and he proposed her a few days back but she denied. She always wanted to get married to a person whom her grandparents would choose. She was sure they wont mind sanskaar as well. But sadly, now everyone may agree but what about sanskaar. He was not even talking to her.
She looked at him. He too seemed lost. A lone tear escapes her eye which she immediately wiped.
< SANSKAAR’S POV >
Wow! This is what marriage is. I also saw this dream with someone… ( he looks at ragini, who was smiling ) but now she can ignore me for….. huh… for someone who kicked her out of her own house and now, kidnapped her. Well of course she could because she’s her sister.. and i ,…….. who am i ? what’s my place in her life. Maybe thats why bhai, khushi, poo, abhay were telling me think about marriage…. huh… i had thought… but she… she has different plans… she didn’t, not even for a second also considered telling me or discussing it with me…. she just went where she was taken…. and of course she can be happy without me….
His thoughts are broken when VR shakes him up and asks him to stand up. Arnav and khushi were married now. He congratulated them. Now it was time for bidaai.
But before that, arnav’s saalis asked him neg for his shoes. They had stolen his shoes and wanted money in return. ( its a rasam ) sanskaar being the leader from groom’s side argued with them…
Sanskaar : jooto ke badle joote… ( shoes in return of shoes ) you return sanskaar’s shoes… we’ll return khushi’s shoes.
He was smart enough. He asked the kids to steal khushi’s shoes as well. The bride gang is shocked and looks for khushi’s shoes.
Sanskaar : na na… you wont get them… common jote do joote lo
Everyone laughs. Elders let the kids enjoy. The brides side is reluctant.
Sanskaar : arnav bhai… bhabhi ko uthao aur chalo… ( pick up khushi and come…)
Team bride forms a circle around khushi. Everyone enjoys and laughs.
Arnav : na bro… her lehnga itself is of 20 kgs. I can’t pick her up.
Sanskaar : common bhai… be a man..
Arnav : beta man banne ke chakkar mein i don’t want to break my back….
They keep on arguing. Its almost 4:30 am. VR gets a little angry as the mahurat for bidaai was getting over. Arnav settled for Rs. 5100 and got his shoes back. Sanskaar gave khushi’s shoes also. Bidai happened and the wedding was finally over. Everyone returned to their rooms to pack up things.
(( guys the above scene actually happened at my cousin’s wedding and my own brother was doing what sanskaar did here. It was so much fun!! ))
Next Day, in the evening there was a small reception and celebration of VR and SR’s anniversary celebration. Only close friends and relatives were there. Rest of the guests had left already.
Ragini was trying to talk to Sanskaar but he didn’t gave her any heed. She was frustrated. She was not able to handle his ignorance. But baby, it’s tit for tat!! But Swara was successful in diverting her mind and took her away from Sanskaar. Rp was observing them and found it fishy as they didn’t talked to each other during the whole function.
Rp stops Ragini and takes her to the side. She looks at him, confused.
Ragini : what happened Papa?
Rp : you tell me ragini.. what’s going on with you and sanskaar?
Ragini looks on shocked and a little bit scared. What is she supposed to answer when she herself doesn’t know what’s going on….. she fidgeted with her duppatta and looked here and there, mumbling. Rp looks at her confused.
Rp : beta, what’s the matter? Is everything okay?
Ragini /: voh… papa… actually… mm….
Rp : should i talk to sanskaar?
Ragini : no.. no.. papa,e verything is okay. He’s just busy na… that’s why we are not able to talk properly…
Rp : are you sure ragini?
Ragini : yes, papa… everything is fine. But if you don’t go there then nothing will be fine in your life..
She said pointing towards sujata who was looking for rp. Both ragini and rp chuckles. He goes from there while she looks for sanskaar.
Ragini ( to herself ) : i have told Papa that everything is fine… but is everything actually fine? What’s going on….. Sansku, we need to talk before we go……………………….
She goes from there…

When Arnav gave a special speech dedicated to his parents both Ragini and Sanskaar got emotional. Though Ragini had swara by her side, sanskaar chose to stand alone, behind everyone. He had mixed emotions about his family. All the hatred he had in his heart melted away by seeing them, by talking to them but he had moved on. Now he is not part of that family, according to him. he doesn’t even know why he agreed to go back? He’s not even sure if his decision is right or wrong.
Looking at Arnav’s happy family his heart just smiled. VR and SR have always treated him like a son whenever he had visited them. When he was away from his REAL family, he had got many more families who have supported and loved him like their own.
He took a deep breath and moved from there. Everyone was enjoying their bit till the party came to an end.! Everyone retired to their rooms. It was last night today at the Palace. Sanskaar didn’t spke much to the family or Ragini. He was busy with ArShi and friends.
Tomorrow, After the breakfast, they had to leave the palace. Adarsh informed ragini and sanskaar that their tickets to Kolkata were also booked. While ragini was super excited and happy, sanskaar just nodded.
He asked abhay to take pooja home safely and that he’ll return to Delhi in 2-3 days.
Ragini was shocked to hear this. She thought they were going to Kolkata permanently. After pooja and abhay left, she stopped sanskaaar.
Ragini ; why did you said we would go back to delhi after a few days?
Sanskaar : ragini.. not we… i said i’ll go back..
Ragini ; but why? I thought we’ll stay there only.
Sankaar ; o you thought? Nice. ( pure sarcasm ) But you see i have my business to handle. Already i have been away for two weeks… i don’t think it can go on like this…
Ragini ; but sanskaar…..
Sanskar : ragini i’m not stopping you from staying there.. you can stay back obviously… vaise bhi who am i to take decision for you. You are now capable of taking decisions without discussing or talking… i’m sure you can handle this also….
Ragini does not know what to say. Words are just not coming out of her mouth. Sanskaar taps on her shoulder.
Sankaar ; now go back and pack your bags. Take some rest then we all have to leave.
Saying so he leaves from there. Ragini just looks at his retreating figure until he disappears from her sight. Tears automatically comes out of her eyes.
