And while Kokila and Gopi were trying to find a way out, Bhavani had some news for Gaura.
“Gaura Behen.” She said. “I have to tell you something, now. We have a problem.”
Gaura looked at Bhavani.
“What?” She replied. “What’s going on, Bhavani?”
“The Modis have reported Gopi and Kokila missing. The police is actively looking for them. What now?”
Gaura thought for a moment.
“Don’t worry.” She then said. “That’s not a problem at all. I will do something about it. Just wait.”
Few hours later. The Modis still had no information about their lost family members. Hetal and Urmila decided to go to the police station and try to understand if there’s something new.
When they arrived, they were welcomed by a policewoman wearing a pink saree.
“Namaste.” Hetal was the first to say. “We are from the Modi family. Yesterday we reported our family members, Kokila Modi and Gopi Modi as missing. Could you please tell us if there is some new information about the investigation?”
“Wait a moment.” the woman said.
“I am sorry, but we have never received a missing report for these two women.” She said again after a while.
Urmila and Hetal looked at each other.
“What?” Urmila then said. “But how is that possible? Yesterday we came here and reported them missing. We were told that an investigation will be opened and they will be found. And now, all of a sudden you are telling us that there is not any report about them?”
“I am telling you the truth. No such people as Gopi Modi and Kokila Modi have been reported missing yesterday, not even the day before. Excuse me, but I have work to do.”
And then, the policewoman went to do her work. And Urmila and Hetal left the police station more confused than before.
Flashback
The policewoman was a friend of Gaura. Gaura called her and asked her to check if Gopi and Kokila have been really reported missing. When the policewoman confirmed Gaura’s suspicions, she asked her to delete the reports and so, no one from the police would try to find them.
“Everything’s done, Bhavani.” Gaura said, smiling. “No one will look for them now. We can continue our torture.”
“You are awesome, Gaura behen!” Bhavani replied happily. “But we can’t keep them forever. We must think of something otherwise the suspicions can fall on us. Or Gopi and Kokila may find a way to escape.”
“You are right. We must be careful.”
“But what should we do now that the suspicions will not fall on us?”
“Listen, Bhavani. I’ve got a brilliant idea.”
One hour later. The Modis were wondering how to find Gopi and Kokila when the doorbell rang. Hetal went to open and she was shocked to see Gaura and Bhavani.
“Namaste.” They both said.
“You? What are you doing here?” Hetal said. It was obvious that she wasn’t happy to see them.”
“We heard that Gopi and Kokila are missing.” Gaura began. “”We want to help you. Believe us, we are changed. Years passed and we realized our mistakes. I realized that my family is the most important thing in my life. I know, I did a lot of bad things to Kokila and your family, but I am her friend after all. I want to find her and apologize to her for everything. I want to accept her as my friend again.”
Gaura’s words were so charming that just anyone would believe her fake sincerity.
“Is that really true?” Hetal asked. Being the naive and sweet woman she was, she was ready to believe just anyone, even the family’s greatest enemies.
“Of course that’s true.” Gaura continued. “Please, let us help you and let’s find Gopi and Kokila together.”
“No, Hetal Behen, don’t believe them!” Urmila suddenly said. “They are lying! And especially Gaura, the same Gaura that took away our beloved Ahem. How can you forget everything so easily?”
“Urmila, please, calm down. I did not forget anything. You know that people make mistakes, don’t you? Let’s unite with Gaura and Bhavani, we need help to find Gopi and Kokila and that’s the most important thing now.”
“Will you really accept our help?” Bhavani then said, fake tears forming in her eyes.
“Yes, Bhavani. We will.”
“Thank you so much!”
“We are so thankful that you agreed to unite with us.” Gaura said. “We need to go now. We will start our search from tomorrow, you see, it’s dark now. We all should get some sleep first, shouldn’t we? I know, in such hard times sleep is the last thing that comes to your mind but, in order to be functional we need to get some energy. Goodnight and sweet dreams. We will come tomorrow at 9am, is that fine?”
“Yes, it is.”
“Fine. See you later. Let’s go, Bhavani.”
And as soon as the two women left the mansion, they began laughing.
“That really was brilliant, Gaura Behen!” Bhavani said first. “Seriously, I didn’t know what I would do without you!”
“I told you, Bhavani, the Modis are so naive that just anyone can mislead them.”
“Now what?”
“The last thing we need to do today is go to Gopi and Kokila and tell them about the wonderful events from the past hour. Let’s go! And then, we will really get some sleep. We will need energy, you know. Ha ha!”
20 minutes later, the two friends and partners in crime went to the place where they kept Gopi and Kokila. When they entered in, the two women were just sitting there. They were apparently sad.
“Namaste.” Gaura said to both of them. “How are you?”
“What do you want?” Kokila was the first to reply. She looked at Gaura with hatred.
“Oh, oh, my friend. Don’t talk to me like that. Be thankful that I am in a good mood or you would pay for your words. Now listen to me. Do you know what happened today? Your family reported you missing to the police. Poor Modis, they thought that at the police station someone can help them and find you. But no, it seems that they have no luck. I did what I had to do and now the police will not find you. The reports for missing people have been removed from their system. And what’s more, we went to your family and offered them our help. We cried a few fake tears and your sister in law Hetal immediately believed us. She was hesitant at first, but being the actress I am, it was easy for me to convince her that I have changed for good. That my family is what mostly matters to me, that I want to find you and reunite with you again because I miss our friendship. Urmila didn’t believe us, but I don’t care about her. Your sister in law accepted our help and now, the real game will begin. Tomorrow. Tomorrow, we will meet at 9am and will start looking for you. Your poor family will think that me and Bhavani will really try to help them. But we will be misleading them, looking into different places where we think you can be and so on and so forth. What a brilliant plan, isn’t it?”
And then, Kokila raised her hand to slap Gaura but Bhavani quickly caught her.
“What are you doing, how dare you?” She said. “How dare you try to slap my friend? Be thankful that we are happy because if we weren’t, we would kill you right here and now! Let’s go, Gaura Behen. We have to sleep, the real fun begins tomorrow!”
And then, the two women left.
And Gopi burst into tears.
“Maaji, what will happen now! Everything is hopeless! It really is!”
“Don’t worry, Gopi.” Kokila said. “We will try to find a way to escape. Tomorrow, we will have to go to our family exactly at 9am and expose Gaura and Bhavani in front of them! Otherwise things will get only worse and worse!”
“But maaji, how we will do that?”
“First of all, we must find a way to get free from the ropes. Then we will try jumping out the window.”
“But maaji, it’s dangerous. What will happen if we fall to death? Or if we hurt ourselves while breaking the windows?”
“We must try, Gopi, there’s no other option!”
“Fine. Let’s try.”
And the two women began trying to free themselves. Gaura was asleep, but Bhavani was still awake and could see everything at the cameras. She then quickly went to Gaura’s room.
“Gaura behen! wake up! Gopi and Kokila are trying to escape, I can see them on the cameras!”
Bhavani’s words quickly awoke Gaura. She was still sleepy, but she could process what Bhavani had just said.
“They are trying to escape, you say. Fine, let them do so.”
“What? What are you saying, Gaura behen? If they go back to their family, they will expose us and then, our game is over!”
“Calm down, Bhavani. Our game will not be over. Even if they expose us in front of the family, they will not believe them. Hetal will start saying that this can’t be possible, that just yesterday we offered them our help so we can’t have kidnapped them. We will go to their house 5 minutes earlier and this way, we will be ready for anything. I am telling you, don’t worry. Things will happen exactly as I told you. Now let them get away. Or at least, try to do so. Who knows? They may fall off to their deaths!”
