sometime passed. Bhavani didn’t give up on her wish to marry Dharam. She continued to pretend that she is ready to take Meera’s place in being a mother.
He eventually allowed her to take care of the twins again.
Her manipulations finally gave results. As meera was still away and she wasn’t suspecting anything, she still believed that Bhavani is the only person she can trust. She continued taking care of the villages while her so cold mother was busy making traps for her husband Dharam.
At some point, Dharam also started falling for Bhavani. He began to think that perhaps she was meant to be the mother of his children and to take her place as his wife, as Meera had decided to completely forget about her family.
He decided that they have to marry and he would report these news to his mother.
“Mum. Don’t you see how Bhavani takes care for the twins? She isn’t like Meera, she cares for me and for the family.”
Gaura remained silent.
“That’s why I took a decision.” He continued. “I decided that we have to marry.”
“What? What did you say?”
Gaura’s eyes widened.
“Aren’t you happy, mum? You are best friends. Your best friend will become your daughter in law.”
And then, she realized that if she wanted things to go her way, she had to change her behavior.
“That’s a very good news.” She then said. “You just took me by surprise, that’s why I reacted this way. You have made the right choice. Bhavani is a really good person, she is the ideal wife for you. She isn’t like Meera.”
“Wait. I will call Bhavani. We need your blessings.”
And then he went into Bhavani’s room to call her. And Gaura knew she had to be patient in order for her plan to give a result.
Few minutes later, they came back.
“Gaura behen, do you really allow us to marry?” Bhavani asked. “Will you really give us your blessings?”
“Yes, Bhavani. I am agree. I realized that in the absence of Meera, you proved yourself as a good mother and a caring wife. You proved us you can take responsibility and you will be the best person to unite our family and protect us from all evil.”
“But how will you protect the family from me?” She then thought.
Bhavani smiled.
“My dreams will finally come true!” She said. “I will marry my Dharamji! Thank you so much, Gaura behen!”
A few hours later, the family was asleep. Only Gaura and Bhavani were still awake. Bhavani’s excitement didn’t let her sleep, but there was something else that was troubling her..
She wasn’t sure about Gaura’s sudden change. She didn’t believe it that her friend had accepted her marriage that easily and because of that, she wanted to talk to her.
She went to her room and knocked.
“Come in!” Gaura replied from inside.
Bhavani opened the door and stepped in.
“Can I talk to you?” She asked.
“Sure, you can.”
“I want to congratulate you, Gaura. You did such a good performance today. But please, come to your senses. We’re not in the theatre and you’re not an actress in a dramatic play. I know that you can’t agree to my marriage with Dharamji, all of a sudden. Tell me right now, what is your plan again?”
“I don’t know what are you talking about. what I said today was the truth. I decided that maybe I have to accept you and to let you be a part of my family.”
“My family? What?”
“Yes, Bhavani. I know. It wasn’t right to force my son to marry Priya. She is a criminal and she would be a threat to our family. And when I told you I am ready to kill Dharam without even thinking… No, that’s not true. I will never hurt my child, no matter what he does.”
“Really? Have you really changed, Gaura behen?”
“Yes. When I saw how you take care for the twins, I realized that perhaps you really love not only my son but his children, too.”
“Thank you very much! You will make my dreams come true! Are we friends again?”
“Not only friends. In few days, you will be my daughter in law. I will be required to take care for you and your wellbeing will be my responsibility. And your will be to take care of us all and behave as a good daughter in law. I am sure that you will bring a lot of good luck to the family, as every daughter in law does. Now go to sleep and don’t get so excited. We will start the rituals in a few days. Tomorrow I will go invite the Modis.”
“What? Why do you want to invite them?”
“Because of Vidya. If I don’t do it, she will invite them anyway. Perhaps she will be very sad that a new woman will take the place of her sister, but that’s how life is sometimes.”
And then, Bhavani left and Gaura was alone again.
She then smiled brightly.
“Bhavaniiii! we are all actors and life is a scene! What you saw today was the best theatrical performance I have ever given! If you only knew what I have prepared for you, you wouldn’t be smiling like that! I will make sure that the happiest and most awaited day in your life will turn into your worst nightmare. Just wait and watch!”
The next day arrived.
Vidya completely disliked the recent changes in the house. She could not accept it that someone else will take the place of her sister. She decided to do everything she could to find Meera and bring her back.
But first, she would talk to Gaura.
“How dare you, baaji, how dare you?” She said. “Why do you want to completely destroy our family, why do you hate us so much?”
“What do you mean, Vidya?”
“Why have you allowed Bhavani to take the place of my sister Meera? You didn’t even ask me or Shravanji.”
“I am the oldest person here. I can take decisions without your agreement.”
“This is wrong, baaji. You perfectly know that my father in law loves only Meera and no one else. He may now agree to this marriage as he is lead by anger. But soon, he will realize that Bhavani can never replace my sister and he will do everything to reunite with Meera again.
And also, I have not forgotten your sins. I am just waiting for the right time to expose you and then, you will be out of our house and will go back to prison. Prison is the only place to which you belong. I haven’t forgotten that you killed my father. That you took Chanda’s life. How you attacked Urvashi and put the blame on my grandmother. You will soon pay for your sins.”
“You will never be able to prove anything! and I will never go back to prison again! Don’t think that I am really agree to let Bhavani marry Dharam. I am just using the situation to my advantage.”
“What?”
“Don’t ask to much. You will understand everything when the right time comes. Now I am going to the Modi mansion. I will invite your family to the wedding that is going to take place soon.”
Bhavani heard the fight between them and came to help Gaura.
“Vidya, please stop it. Gaura has some work to do, you better leave her alone now.”
“You both will pay for all the suffering you put us through!”
“We will see that, Vidya. Bhavani, please get this girl out of here!”
