Saath Nibhaana Saathiya fame Vishal Singh on being typecast; says, “tv has not moved on ever since Saathiya ended”

Saath Nibhaana Saathiya fame Vishal Singh aka Jigar Modi has been missing from the small screen for a long time. In a recent interview with BT, Vishal talks about the reason behind it and shares, “Television is of course a part of me and I want to do TV shows. But unfortunately, whatever is coming my way is either Saath Nibhaana Sathiya sequel, prequel, or something which is very similar to it. It is not me being typecast but television, in general, has not moved on ever since Saathiya.. ended. It’s been seven years since I have not done anything on the medium. I want to do TV but not what I have already done in my last show. I have literally given my jawani to Saathiya.. and was a part of it from start to end. Also, TV is still a women-dominated industry with men not having much to do. I would love to do a show like Beyhadh.”

Talking about OTT platforms Vishal shares, “OTT is offering actors a variety of choices to actors. But there also I want to do something which I can watch with my family. The couple of shows which I have been offered on the medium have been quite bold. This is probably not my time and I am not getting the right offers. However, I have shot for a couple of music videos, an episodic web show.”

The Kuchh Is Tarah actor also mentions that he has saved enough and hence needs not run for offers. “I can afford to be choosy because I have done a show like Saathiya for almost 7 years and have been paid really well for it. I was almost shooting daily for that show. I have saved a good amount of money. Then I also did a show in Indonesia for almost a year and earned a good amount there. God has been very kind to me in terms of money,” he says.
