Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 fame Harsh Nagar tied the knot to actress and Femina Miss India Earth 2008 Tanvi Vyas in December 2018. In a recent interview with BT, the couple shared their plans for Valentine’s Day, their journey together, and more.
Harsh shared, “As actors, we don’t have any holiday on Valentine’s Day but still, we take out time and usually celebrate the day by dining out together. We pick a new restaurant every time and it’s a nice feeling to go out on a date.
Tanvi also added to the conversation and shared, “Having dated for nine years before tying the knot, we have had some really memorable V-Day dates over the years. We have been a part of each other’s journey through every phase-from the time we were students to when we started earning, and now as husband and wife. So, every V-Day has been a little different from the previous year. This time, Harsh has got a break after a very long time and so, we are planning to travel and meet our families in Delhi and Vadodara.”
Talking about how they met, Harsh said, “We first met at an acting class in 2009 and I was instantly attracted to her. She was the most beautiful girl in the class and there was always this buzz around her, since she was the reigning Femina Miss India Earth. I feel lucky to have married her and life hasn’t changed much after marriage. The only difference is that I no longer have to drop her home (laughs)!”
Tanvi also added, “I was very popular in the class and always surrounded by students. So, Harsh probably thought ki ye kya hai (laughs)! We began with a dance class and I remember it was held in a room that was fitted with mirrors. I would always wait for Harsh to join in. I never thought of him as a friend, we were attracted to each other right from day one. So, for us, it was an attraction at first sight! We have known each other for 13 years now and it has been a fabulous journey.
When asked if it helps when your partner is from the same profession, Harsh said, “I really loved Tanvi’s performance in the Telugu film Nenem Chinna Pillana and the character she portrayed was very close to how she is in real life-bubbly and expressive. It certainly helps when your partner is from the same profession. When the pandemic started, my debut TV show Kartik Purnima became a victim of it and went off air abruptly. I also lost a very close friend, who was just 28 years old and the only daughter of her parents. It was a very tough phase and the pandemic has made me more grateful for all that I have, including such an understanding wife.”
Tanvi said, “I come from a family of doctors and really loved Harsh’s performance in Kartik Purnima, in which he played a doctor. For me, the last two years have been really tough. We shifted to a new house amid the pandemic and it was not easy because it happened during the Mumbai monsoons. Also, I lost out on work as projects got stalled due to the pandemic. Ever since Harsh started shooting for Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2, it has been really hectic for him and there were times when I would feel lonely at home. But it helps to have a partner who understands what you are going through.”
