Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 fame Akanksha Juneja opens up on her abusive relationship and why she is still single

WHile many actors and celebs shy away from talking about their love affairs and breakups, actress Akanksha Juneja is someone who never minces her words and believes in speaking her heart out. The actress recently opened up about her single status and the abusive relationship she was in.

Akanksha who is currently seen in the show, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 recently talked about the abusive relationship she was into during an interview with BT. She said, “Actors’ relationships issues have always been under the radar. I have no reason to lie or hide my relationship status -I love the fact that I am single at the moment and am happily married to my work. Having said that, I haven’t been single all my life. I was in a serious relationship and that continued for three years. But then things turned sour as my partner became abusive and used to physically assault me. After his temper cooled down, my ex always used to accept his mistake, apologise and I used to forgive him -it became a vicious cycle. But then he became frequently abusive so I finally decided to walk out of it. If there’s no respect in a relationship, nothing else matters. So the reason for me being single is the last abusive relationship I was in. There was a point when I used to lose my cool and couldn’t focus on my work and my life was a mess. And I used to feel depressed for days, finally, I decided to end it.”

She added, “It’s not like I am lonely and miserable without a partner, but I wouldn’t mind getting into a relationship with the right person. Yes, my previous experience has made me a bit scared and apprehensive, so I can’t commit to anyone that easily.”

When asked about the kind of man she wants in her life, she said, “When I am in a relationship, I give it my all. In return, all I want is love and respect. I feel that my man would be someone who I can spend quality time with and share things about my life. I would like him to be my friend first and then a partner. I believe that when the initial excitement fades after a few years, it is the friendship with your partner that counts.”

Akanksha who is currently essaying the role of Kanak Desai in the TV show Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2 concluded by saying, “I love what I am doing, I am very glad that I have carved my place in showbiz, have creative satisfaction, and the amazing feedback from the audience. I just hope that the audience keeps loving my work.”
