Rumi Khan opens up on getting stuck in Dubai for 3 months and how he overcome his fear of riding horse

Rumi Khan, who went to visit his brother in Dubai, got stuck there due to the Covid restrictions. He was only allowed to return to India after he was fully vaccinated. Rumi is now back in India, and in a recent interview with BT he talks about the experience and says, “Even though I was stuck there for three months, I had a good time. I went to meet my younger brother after a long time and planned a trip for 20 days. But just as I was planning to return to India, COVID-19 cases started rising and my brother didn’t want me to take the risk and fly back. So, I extended my visa for a month and then extended it further because I needed to get vaccinated. As soon as I completed that, I booked my tickets and reached India on June 19. I’m glad to be back.”

Rumi who is known for his role in Uttaran and Mahabharat, took it as opportunity to spend some quality time with his brother and meet his Dubai based friends. Apart from all this he also learnt horse riding, talking about it, Rumi says, “The weather is hot during April it here, so I didn’t step out too much. But the temperature drops drastically by night time in the open desert, so I had a great time camping and going for desert dunning. I also overcame my phobia of riding a horse.”

He adds, “I had a major accident on the set of Ek Veer ki Ardaas- Veera. I was shooting for a horse race sequence and my horse went out of control and I didn’t know how to handle the animal. As the camera started rolling, my horse started galloping at high speed and threw me on the ground. I suffered from a bad back injury and after that, I was scared about riding horses. When I was here, I came across a good stable, so I decided to learn horse riding. I joined the club under highly trained professional riders and learnt horse riding within 10 sessions. After that I was riding in the open desert fearlessly. That is one of my best memories of this trip.”
