Rakhi Sawant Secures Temporary Protection in Amboli FIR Case – Mumbai Court Grants Interim Relief Amidst Controversy

In a recent development, the Dindoshi Sessions Court has provided temporary protection from arrest to Rakhi Sawant in connection with an FIR filed by the Amboli Police. The FIR was initiated following a complaint from her husband, Adil Durrani, under Section 67A, alleging the public dissemination of his private videos.

Represented by her attorney, Ali Kaashif Khan, Sawant sought anticipatory bail, asserting that her media statements about the videos aimed to discredit Durrani. The defense contended that Durrani was solely responsible for recording and sharing the videos on his phone.

Rakhi’s lawyer, Adv Ali Kaashif Khan, shared the update, stating, “Rakhi Sawant was granted interim protection today from the sessions court against FIR filed by Amboli Police on the complaint of her husband Adil Durrani under section 67A for allegedly showing his private nude videos to media.”

While the prosecution had previously addressed Sawant’s pre-arrest bail request, Durrani’s legal team sought additional time to present a counter. The prosecution opposed any relief for Sawant, citing an ongoing investigation to identify the creator and distributor of the video.

Judge SY Bhosale directed, “The Investigating Officer is therefore directed not to take any coercive steps against the applicant (Sawant) till the next date.” The court will reevaluate Sawant’s anticipatory bail request on December 7.

In a parallel legal move, Rakhi filed two applications against her husband, Adil Khan Durrani, accusing him of damaging her image and influencing witnesses. These applications, including one for defamation, are scheduled for a hearing on November 6 at the Andheri Magistrate Court. Stay tuned for updates on this evolving legal situation!
