LOVE OF LIFE

She sat on the bed, clad in bride’s red dress, the room was completely decorated and the bride’s beauty was giving it more beautiful glow.
The only thing strange was, her crying, tears were streaming down non-stop. Her thought went in the past.

***FLASHBACK***

“Ragini come down quickly”
Ragini came out from her room, rushing down in full speed, “what happened dad?” She asked
“Sanskar’s parents came to ask your hand” with a smile, Shekhar announced.
She was happy but on the same time, her face went pale, “but dad he loves Swara di”.
“I know Ragini, he loves swara but she doesn’t love him and moreover she is soon going to get engaged to Laksh thus Sanskar’s parent’s want you both to get married,” he paused and continue “I know you are still not ready and maybe you are finding the situation awkward but Angel that was your mom’s last wish to get one of her daughter married in Kapoor family.”
As she got to know it was her mom’s last wish as well, resistance left her, she agreed, “Dad I am ready.”

In the following month, Ragsan got married, they hadn’t spoken even a word to each other. Sanskar was following the rituals making an uninterested face.
Soon, they reached their house and Ragini was led into Sanskar’s room by his mother. “This is now your and Sanskar’s room,” said his’s mom. She helped Ragini to sit on the bed.
After she left, Sanskar came in the room, he looked at her with rage in his eyes. “So you must be happy now, you are married to the guy you love but let me remind you one thing, I will never love you, I just got married to you because my family wanted,” saying that he left the room.

Sanskar knew Ragini loves him as she confessed to him only to be heartbroken but still they were friends.
Ragini sat there crying, she didn’t know marrying Sanskar meant losing their friendship, they were best friends and now he hated her from his heart.

***FLASHBACK (end)***
She fell asleep while crying. As the sun’s ray disturbed her, she opened her eyes and found Sanskar there. She looked at the time and it was really early morning. She knew that Sanskar was aware she was used to wake up around 10-11, he on purpose did that.

“So my wifey is wake up,” said Sanskar  with sarcasm, he came to her and sat down, “now let me tell you one thing clearly from now on your going to sleep on the couch or wherever you want but not on my bed. Yet, we’ll behave like a perfect couple in front of the family…” he took his lips toward her neck and found her jerking back “I love that” said Sanskar with a smirk, he loved to see her afraid.
“By the way, didn’t you want this?” he said with sarcasm, giving her bite on her neck he moved back and saw her eyes closed, a tear came out. He didn’t know why, but he felt his heart aching to see her like this, maybe because she used to be his friend. He just shrugged it off and went to the bathroom.

Ragini sat there crying, she was miserable. As Sanskar came out she went to the bathroom and look at herself in the bathroom, she was looking horrible, her eyes were puffy, her make-up was all smudged and there was a spot on her neck all red turning blue, that was the place were Sanskar gave her a bite which wasn’t love bite, unfortunately. She took a shower and came out from the bathroom, dressed in a pink salwar kameez, she was looking beautiful in spite of her condition.
Sanskar was left mesmerized seeing her but he put it aside, ‘I just hate her’, he would have preferred living single than marrying her.
They both came out form the room together. His mom was up and so Ragini joined her mother in law in the kitchen.
As they did breakfast, they praised Ragini as she made suji ka halwa. Ragini was happy.

“Excuse me” said Sanskar, he went in the kitchen with his bowl and came after sometime. “Jaan, why aren’t you eating, come here I’ll feed you with my hands.”
Ragini knew he was up to something, but she quietly obeyed and sat on the chair next to him. He feed her. Ragini coughed, it was tasting really bad, sore. “Oh jaan what happened?” Asked Sanskar making her drink water.
As Ragini looked at him, he was smirking, she knew he had added salt. Everybody else were happy to see them like this, so happy.
Ragini kept eating quietly, looking in his eyes. After a bit, Sanskar stopped he was feeling bad to see tears coming out from Ragini’s eyes. Ragini couldn’t control herself now, she ran to her room.

Everybody thought she was feeling shy so they chuckled. “I’ll come back in a while” saying that Sanskar went in his room and saw Ragini nowhere, he opened the washroom door and saw her vomiting. He was feeling guilty to see her vomiting because of him. He went to her and asked, “are you ok?”

Ragini nodded and Sanskar left. Sanskar has shown her hell in few hours. She had never expected this.
Sanskar felt bad a minute but then he come back to himself, he kept treating her the same way. He thought that swara refused to marry him because of Ragini and so he hated her…

After few days, he was successfully making her life hell. He made her sleep on the uncomfortable couch, he made her eat tasteless or spicy food, he woke her up early in the morning and didn’t let her sleep earlier. One day when she went to take shower, the water turned off and the soap was causing her eyes to burn. Ragini was feeling so weak, she had gone through so much in the past two weeks.
Sanskar’s family had decided to leave them alone for a week, as Sanskar had few important meeting and they couldn’t go on honeymoon thus they decided to give them some privacy.

“Ok Sanskar take care of Ragini, we will be back in a weak,” said ‘s Ram (Sanskar’s dad)
“Ok dad don’t worry,” said Sanskar closing the trunk don’t worry, I am going to make her life hell.’

They bid them adieu and entered in the house back. After a few minutes, Sanskar  got ready and was about to leave when Ragini asked, “Sanskar are you going somewhere?”
“It’s none of your business” saying that Sanskar left, leaving her alone and hurt.
She did the house chores but her day didn’t finish, Sanskar did come home by 8 PM, he watched TV and made his way toward his room.

“Oh Ragini, forgot to tell you an important thing, I don’t want to see you in my room for the rest of the week,” saying that he left, leaving a heartbroken Ragini.
After six days, as his parents weren’t at home, he behaved with her even more badly.
Sanskar has left in the morning and It was midnight now, there were no clue of Sanskar, Ragini was worried. She was relieved, hearing the bell, she went to open the door only to get shocked, she saw Sanskar completely drunk with a girl wearing short clothes clinging to him.
He pushed Ragini and entered then he made his way toward his room with the girl.

“Sanskar,” Ragini gasped with eyes moist, she hadn’t expected this from Sanskar.
He turned and looked at her with a big smile, “what Wifey?”
“who is she? and what is she doing here?”
“she is my girlfriend, I just meet with her today and now we are going to….. do I need to say what we are going to do?” He winked and went to his room.
Ragini broke down, she had never thought about this even in her nightmare. ‘Sanskar why??? why are you hurting me so much. I can’t take it anymore.’
She went to sleep on the sofa, she was completely broken today.

In the morning, Ragini woke up and saw Sanskar along his girlfriend coming out from the room, laughing over something. They arrived in front of the main door. “Sanskar  thanks for the superb night” saying that she kissed on his cheek and he too reciprocated.
As his girlfriend left, he too left after few minutes not even giving a glance to Ragini. In the afternoon, their family was back. Ragini asked “mom, dad, can I go at my parent’s house for sometime?”
“Of course, beta, you can go and you don’t need to ask our permission” said Sujata with a smile, “and do tell us when you want to come back, I’ll send Sanskar.”

“Come we’ll drop you” said Sahil.
“No bhai, I’ll go by myself don’t worry” said Ragini.
“We are going to the hospital, have some emergency and your home it’s just on our way” said Sahil.
Ragini agreed, “Ok, then mom dad please tell Sansjar about this, he might have forgotten.” In reality she haven’t even told him but now she wanted to be away from him.
Sujata agreed and then Sahil and Kavya dropped her at her home.
Ragini entered in her home with Sahil and Kavya, she felt happy to be at home. They meet with everybody and then Sahil and Kavya left.

Swara took Ragini in her room and asked with concern, “Ragu you are looking weak, what happened?”
Ragini broke down and said “I was just missing you guys”, she didn’t wanted to tell her the real reason.
“Oh Ragu, we too missed you” saying that she hugged Ragini. “Ok now no more crying, I have decided to do so much with you” said swara with excitement…

Sanskar came home and saw everybody on the dining table expect Ragini, he frowned “where is Ragini?”
“she has gone to her parents house for sometime” replied sujata.
He didn’t know why but he felt bad “when is she going to come back?”
“she said in sometime” said Ram, pouring water in his glass.
Sanskar was sad, he didn’t know why. “Oh my devar is feeling sad without his wife, don’t worry she’ll be back soon” teased Kavya and the rest chuckled and Sanskar  was blushing.
“My god! I can’t believe you are blushing” said Sahil.
“Bhai don’t lie anyways I am going to get fresh” he entered in his room and saw the room the way it was in the morning, the sheets were spread in the room. He opened the cupboard, he frowned even more harder to see all her belongings not there. “Has she left me forever?” ‘dude why do you care, that’s what you wanted.’ He shrugged his shoulder and went in the bathroom, feeling really sad.

The rest of week passed very slowly for both Ragsan, Ragini hasn’t called Sanskar  once but she did called at home. Sanskar was feeling sad, he hasn’t not talked to Ragini for so long, he was craving to listen to her voice, he knew she called at home but not him. He was feeling now bad, guilty for what he did to her especially when he took kavita, his so-called girlfriend at home.

On the other side, swara entered in Ragini’s room and saw her lost, she sighed, she didn’t know what was with Ragini but she wasn’t herself. “Ragu what happened? please tell me.”
“Nothing di”
“Ragini you have to swear on me”
Listening that tears spilled out from Ragini’s eyes and she broke down and told her everything as she finished telling her, swara was shocked “Oh My God! I can’t believe Sanskar did this”, swara hugged Ragini, she was able to feel what Ragini felt and had gone through. “Ragu please don’t cry, you have to get stronger for me” She wiped her tears and said funny thing to make her smile in which she succeeded to some extent….
