RagLak: Is Everything really so Perfect as it seems to be? – Chapter 4 – By Ria

Raglak – Is everything really so perfect as it seems to be?
Segment 4

A/N: Thank you for all your encouraging support. I really couldn’t have asked for anything more. About Lakshya, I’m sorry again. His character would improve soon. I hope I am able to justify all the characters by the end of the story. Also, Annapurna is in a positive shade in the story.

(RAGINI)

I woke up and found myself in Lakshya’s room. I don’t know how I came here as I clearly remember I slept in maa’s room. I tried recalling what exactly had happened but, couldn’t. I tried to move my hands but, I was unable to. Lakshya entered the room with a cup of coffee and sat next to me. He forwarded the coffee mug but, after a fraction of seconds he smiled and sipped the coffee. “I’m sorry. I forgot your hands and legs are tied”, said Lakshya. I tried speaking but he had covered my mouth with a cloth. I looked away in disgust while he pressed my cheeks and made me to face him. “What?”, he asked. He removed the cloth from my mouth and I shouted, “What do you want?” He nodded his head in a no and said, “No one is here to hear you out sweetheart. Maa has gone to the doctor and she’ll be back only after two days.” “What happened to maa?”, I asked and regretted my action. Lakshya caught hold of my hair and said, “This is for the last time I’m telling you that you don’t have the rights to question me.” I blinked my eyes to clear out the blurry vision. “I’m going to the office”, said Lakshya. “I don’t care where you go. Just untie my hands and legs”, I replied. “I don’t even want you to care and, about untying you that’s not happening before 2 days”, Lakshya replied and walked out of the room. I thought about his words as tears rolled down my cheeks. I had to stay like this for the next two days and I had no option. I had decided not to cry in front of La..sorry, Mr. Maheshwari as I wanted to show him that his so-called wife isn’t weak. I stared at the ceiling and recalled everything that I had been going through for the past few days. I was awake for a long time but, around 5 in the evening I felt asleep.

I opened my eyes quickly as I felt something hot on my face. I saw Lakshya standing in front of me with a half-filled coffee mug. He smiled at me and said, “How was the waking up call?” I turned away my burning face. I could hear him filling a glass of water from the water jug beside. I knew what was coming next and as expected he splashed the water on my face. It hurted me but, I smiled at him and said, “Anymore La.. I mean Mr. Maheshwari?” He looked at me in confusion and then sipping his coffee said, “You’ve to stay like this for one more day.” I nodded my head in a yes and said, “Just a day more.” I turned my face away and blinked my eyes to clear the blurry vision and stop the tears from rolling down. I was awake till late night as I saw Mr. Maheshwari wandering around and completing his project. I saw him laying down on the bed up later and at around 2 I felt asleep.

I woke up as I felt someone tightening their grip around my wrist. I opened my eyes and saw Mr. Maheshwari tightening the grip of the ropes around my hands and legs. I looked at him in disgust while he looked up and smiled at me. “I hope now you’ll feel the pain”, said Lakshya. I smiled at him and struggled to sit up. “I’m leaving”, he said. “What should I do for that?”, I asked with attitude. He looked at me in confusion and walked out of the room. I struggled to get up from the mattress and with lots of efforts jumped up till the bed- side table. I dropped the empty glass from there making it break. I sat down on the floor and facing my back towards the side table. I picked up a glass piece from the floor. I tried to cut the rope with the help of that. I hurt myself several times but, after about half an hour I was able to free my hands. I had a lot of cuts on my hand but, ignoring that I untied the rope off my legs. I had a huge amount of blood clot on my hands and legs because of the tightened grip of the rope. I was about to get up when I saw Mr. Maheshwari entering the room. He walked up till the table and picked up a file. He looked towards the mattress and worriedly looked here and there not finding me. He looked at me and we had a short eye lock but, I looked away. He went to the cupboard and took out the first aid. He applied Dettol on the cotton and came towards me. I sat over there forwarding my hands trying to be strong enough. He cleaned the blood off my hands. I tried my best to control the tears but, couldn’t. He aided my wounds and walked out of the room taking his file. I cried for a while and at around 11 I took my clothes and went out of the room.

I was about to go down when my gaze again fell on that isolated room. I thought about Mr. Maheshwari’s words of no one being at home. I walked towards the room and peeped inside. I found the room completely empty. I decided to take my shower first and then go inside the room. I quickly went down and came back.

I went inside the room and found the walls covered with enormous pictures of a girl, the one who consoled me that morning. I went through all the pictures. I think the pictures were pretty old. She looked very cheerful and happy. I wondered who it could be when my gaze was locked with one picture. I saw bhai in one of the pictures. I rubbed my eyes to see whether I was seeing correct. I went close to the picture and had a close look at it. I saw bhai, Sameer bhaiya (Sanskaar’s batch mate) and that girl. Bhai was in the middle while the girl and Sameer bhaiya on both his sides. I found everything very weird but walked ahead. I went through the other pictures and there were many pictures of the girl with my bhai. I stood in front of a wall which had the girl’s pictures with all her friends. I smiled looking at the pictures and recalled how I used to be with my friends. I suddenly looked at a picture and couldn’t take my eyes off it. I wasn’t able to believe my eyes. I was about to take the picture off from the wall when someone held my hand and dragged me out of the room. I kept looking at the picture until the person closed the door and pushed me down on the floor making my forehead hit the floor.
