Ragini Lakshya Maheshwari (Chapter 3)

SS – Chapter 3:

The sun rises, shining bright but due to the closed curtains, it wasn't able to enter the room Ragini was lying inside.

Ragini opens her eyes instantly while smelling an unusual smell and is stunned to see the pictures of Lakshya burning on the floor and finding herself on the bed.

Ragini pulls the blanket away and stands on the floor, rushing to the photo's.

"Photos." Ragini panics and glances around to find something.

Tears dribbles down her cheeks, she bends down but the fire pushes her away.

"Lakshya!!" Ragini cries, before she could do anything, the photos form into ashes.

Ragini closes her eyes and cries.

Flashback continues:

"Ooooo!" The class cheer, separating Ragini and Lakshya.

Ragini gets angry while Lakshya moves back and glances around, seeing everyone looking at him. Ragini huffs and Lakshya takes a seat on the chair behind Ragini and the class start gossiping.

"Stupid idiot!" Ragini cusses under her breath.

Lakshya, who was behind Ragini, looks at her back and sees her blouse unzipping, he gets surprised and glances around, he slightly gets relieved as no one else's eyes are on it.

"Ragini." Lakshya whispers.

"Ragini!" Lakshya whispers again, Ragini, who was hearing decides to ignore him.

"Ragini, tera blouse." Lakshya whispers again.

Ragini touches her back and feels her blouse unzipping, she gets surprised, before she could do anything, she feels a hand pull it up, assuming it was Lakshya, she turns with anger but gets surprised seeing Kavya smiling at her.

"Lucky had called me, sorry." Kavya uttered and walked back to her seat.

Ragini looks at Lakshya and he smiles at her, she ignores him and turns back around.

The lesson finishes and the class is dismissed, Ragini stands up after grabbing her bag. While walking out of her seat, she turns and sees Lakshya sleeping on the side of his arm as they're spread out on the table in front of him.

Kavya walks besides him.

"Lucky, wake up!" Kavya says but Lakshya doesn't respond.

"Lucky!" Kavya again shouts and Lakshya slowly opens his eyes.

"Lecture finished?" Lakshya asks while stretching.

Kavya nods and Ragini walks away. Lakshya stands up and grabs his backpack and walks out with Kavya.

Ragini, who was walking in a hurry slips, she falls to the side, hitting a person.

"Sorry." Ragini instantly utters and composes herself, she looks up and sees Sahil, who was simply looks at her.

She worryingly smiles and walks away.

"New student, recently joined the college, we will make sure she doesn't repeat it." His friend says and walks forward but Sahil blocks him by putting his hand forth.

"Leave it." Sahil said she walks away, his friend is confuse, he then shrugs his thoughts and follows Sahil.

It was end of College, Ragini walks outside the gate and stops to halt a taxi or a rickshaw but can't see any coming.

She waits for 5 minutes and still no rickshaw or taxi comes so she decides to walk before it gets dark.

"Bye." Lakshya says to his friends and starts walking.

Ragini, who was behind him sees him and rolls her eyes.

"I hope he doesn't see me." She speaks in her mind and takes her steps slowly.

Lakshya keeps his hands in the pocket of his joggers and tap dances, Ragini sees him and shakes her head, looking away.

Lakshya shakes hands with the boys on the motorbike and walks past them, Ragini feels the gazes of the boys and looks down while walking past.

She sighs a relief after successfully walking out from that awkward gap. Ragini was mile apart from Lakshya.

"When will he leave?!" Ragini sighs as she utters in her mind.

Out of nowhere, few boys jump on Lakshya and start punching and hitting him, Ragini gets shocked and stops.

"Next time you do it again then we won't leave you!" A boy warns and pushes Lakshya onto the floor and leaves with the rest of the boys.

After witnessing that disturbing act, Ragini rushes to an unconscious Lakshya who was bleeding and is injured.

"Lakshya. . ." Ragini trials off and is unable to figure out what she should do, she even hesitates to touch him.

Lakshya slowly opens his eyes to get a clearer view, his nose was paining and water appeared in his eyes, the wind touched the fresh cuts on his head, stomach and lip, making him wince.

"Lakshya, are you okay?" Ragini worriedly asks as she sits besides Lakshya on the bed.

Lakshya looks at Ragini, he then passes out, shocking Ragini.

"Doctor, what happened?" Ragini asks while looking at the doctor.

"He has been injured badly, they have not only used their hands but used sticks and some sharp weapons which caused him these injuries, we can't say anything after doing his X-Ray, he was badly beaten, may God bless him." The doctor says, feeling slightly bad for Lakshya.

"How can someone beat him so brutally and why?" Ragini says and feels bad while looking at Lakshya's condition.

The doctor shrugs and walks out with the nurse to arrange for a scan.

"This was unfair, though I don't like him but he. . .he deserves justice." Ragini determinedly says.

It was morning, Ragini is inside the hospital, giving her statement to the police of what she witnessed while the constable is writing it down.

"Do you reckon this attack was conducted by someone in the college?" The inspector asks

"I'm not sure but if I see their faces, I would remember." Ragini confidently says as she remembers the face of the boy that threatened Lakshya.

"Okay, we will file your complaint and get back to you to begin our investigation." The inspector says and Ragini nods.

Ragini turns and sees the doctor.

"Doctor." She stops him, he looks at her.

"How is he?"

"We have done his X-Ray, now waiting for the results but his conduction is unknown, like he's conscious and then falls unconscious again, we are trying our best to keep him conscious but I'm afraid he may slip into coma, let's hope for the best." The doctor says she walks off leaving Ragini worried and concerned.

Ragini walks inside the room.

"Mmmmhammmmm!" Lakshya moans in pain.

"Listen, see this. . . Ummmm, do you want to eat?" The nurse utters, trying her best to keep him awake.

Lakshya closes his eyes, "Lakshya!" Ragini immediately shouts while forwarding her hand.

Her voice reaches Lakshya's ear and he reacts with a slight jerk and slowly opens his eyes.

Ragini walks besides him.

"Uh. . . What is this Lakshya? Why are you so annoying?" Ragini says, trying to divert Lakshya.

"W. . . What d. . . Did I. . . Do?" Lakshya manages to utter.

"You. . . You aren't. . ." Ragini struggles to find her words.

Lakshya looks at her, tired and drowsy, Ragini looks at him.

"What did you do? Why did they hit you?" Ragini asks, wanting to know.

"H. . . How do you. . . Kn…ow?"

"I saw everything, I'm sure you must've did something, no wonder this happened and you know what, you deserve this." Ragini says and crosses her arms.

"S. . . Stay away from them, th. . . They're dangerous. . ." Lakshya says and closes his eyes, falling asleep.

Ragini gets surprised.

"Don't worry Ma'am, I injected him, he will be sleeping for an hour or two." The nurse utters and walks out.

"Stay away from them, they're dangerous." Lakshya's words run through Ragini's mind and Ragini starts thinking.

Ragini walks inside the college, she gazes around to spot some familiar faces, the boy in red jacket turns and Ragini walks towards him as he was the same boy that threatened Lakshya after hitting him with his crew.

The boy was laughing with some of the boys near him.

"Excuse me." Ragini snaps her fingers and the boys look at her.

"Don't think you will get away with what you did! You know, he will get justice and I will make sure he does." Ragini boldly says and walks from there, leaving the boys confused.

"Yeh kya bol ke gayi?"

"Patah nahi kya bak rahi thi."

"Chodh na yaar, kuch nahi karegi."

"Justice but kisko?"

The boys were left in thought after the boy in red jacket raised this question.

Ragini was walking in the corridor with her phone on her ear.

"Yes inspector, I'm sure, he's the same one." Ragini says.

After a pause, "Okay." And she disconnects the call.

Ragini turns around and sees the boy behind her.

"Why did you threaten me and what for?!" The boy asks and is angrily after listening to her conversation.

"I will speak to you in jail, which is the place for people like you!" Ragini says and walks forward but he grabs her hand and stops her.

Ragini turns angrily and slaps him across the face hard, due to which the people on the playground and the people walking past stop and look at them.

"Don't you dare touch me and keep your hands to yourself!" Ragini angrily shouts and storms off, leaving the boy fuming.

Ragini was storming down the corridor until she bumps into Nikhil.

"Sorry." Nikhil apologises while Ragini stares at him for a bit.

"You're Lakshya's friend right?" Ragini asks.

"Lucky na? Haa, I am but I don't know where that Kamina is, he isn't picking up our calls." Nikhil says slightly irritated with Lakshya.

"He's in the hospital, yesterday some people attacked him and. . ."

"What? Hospital? Shoot! I told him not to mess with him!" Nikhil worriedly yet irritatedly interrupts.

"Mess with who?" Ragini asks.

Nikhil looks at her and then looks away.

"Woh. . . Which hospital is he in?" Nikhil diverts the topic and plasters a small fake smile in the end.

"Don't try to change the topic! I'm stubborn you see so I will definitely want to know, by hook or by crook." Ragini says and folds her arms across her chest, waiting for an answer.

"Why? What will you do by finding out and how does it affect your life?" Kavya says as she walks there and looks at Ragini.

"Nothing will affect me but if Lakshya isn't wrong then I promise to get him Justice!" Ragini boldly says as she looks at Kavya.

"How? Are you some prime minister or something? And no thanks, we don't want you to cause unnecessary trouble for us!" Kavya says and turns.

"I'm not the prime minister but the CM, Shekhar Gadodia's daughter, Ragini Gadodia." Ragini introduces herself with confident and proudness.

Kavya turns and looks at her while Nikhil and Ray look at each other in shock.

After sometime, Nikhil, Kavya, Ray and Ragini are in a corner in the college Library, Ragini is standing with crossed arm while Nikhil and Ray are sitting on the Table and Kavya stands up.

"Yesterday, Lucky, Me, Nik and Ray were walking out from the class, after last period but we stopped as soon as we heard a scream of a girl. . . Lucky wanted to know why that girl screamed. . ." Kavya tells.

"And so did we so we went in the direction the sound came from." Ray interrupts.

"And then we saw a girl crying and running in our direction while some boys were chasing her, she was bleeding and was injured, her state. . . Was bad and unseeable." Nikhil says, feeling slightly bad.

"She asked for help and she stopped in front of us but after seeing the boys, we backed off but Lucky didn't." Kavya says.

"She begged for help but we told Lucky to leave this matter and leave from here." Ray completes with guilt.

"Then we pulled Lucky away, he was blank and stopped us and himself, asking why. . . The boys held the girl from her hair and told us to get lost, hearing her scream Lucky lost his cool and started hitting the boys, we tried to stop him but he went out of control." Kavya says while engrossing herself in deep thinking while remembering the past.

"Then. . ." Nikhil says but stops.

"Then?" Ragini demands to know more.

"Then the boys ran off and warned Lucky that he wouldn't be able to see tomorrow morning." Nikhil completed.

"Lucky wasn't afraid but proud that he saved an innocent girl's life, she cried and thanked Lakshya from saving her life." Ray says while remembering.

"That girl was tortured by those boys, her arm was covered in blood by continuous pricking, it seemed like they pricked her with a needle." Kavya says while feeling bad.

"Her hand, was burnt with acid." Ray sadly says.

"And her skin was cut by a blade, giving her fresh cuts." Nikhil says and looks down sadly.

"Her clothes were torn but still hanging on her body, guarding her, her lips were bleeding by the slaps she must've received, her ear. . . They forcefully put a needle through and made her wear earrings. They, they are beasts, they don't deserve to be spared! They tried to rape that girl." Tears roll down Kavya's eyes as she uttered the painful words.

Ragini was left in tears.

"If Lucky wouldn't have saved her then she would've committed suicide after getting, raped." Ray closes his eyes upsettingly as he feels ashamed to be hearing these types of activities in college now.

"But why were you quiet? Why didn't you get them arrested?" Ragini asks, demanding for an answer after controlling her tears.

"We can't because they have Sahil's support." Nikhil frustratedly answers.

"Sahil? Who is this Sahil?" Ragini asks.

"Sahil Bulreja." Kavya says and looks at Ragini.

"MLA, Sanjay Bulreja's son." Nikhil says.

"Mera Bhai." Ray angrily says.

Nikhil and Kavya get shocked and Ragini looks at him.

"No one dares to speak in front of him, not even the principal of this college, he gets it done his way because he is would to be MLA and he doesn't deserve that place! I don't get what Dad sees in him! He's a beast! A goon! I'm ashamed to even call him my brother, dunya mein sab kiya usne! But ladki ko haath nahi lagaya but he fell in my eyes as soon as he started supporting wrong! I disowned him and he got me kicked out of the house! He's a stain on the name of humans! He killed his humanity and is a devil! He uses people for his purpose and has caused Terror in college by abusing! Till date, no one had the rights to even touch him. He's a trouble!" Ray adds as he expresses his anger and emotions, he isn't happy at all with his brother.

Ragini, Kavya and Nikhil look at him and he looks up at them.

"I want him punished, because of him, many people lost their lives in riots, rallies and in this college by going against him and those boys, he's only supporting them just to get the vote but we can't let this happen." Ray says with anger in this eyes as he wants Sahil to be punished.

"I promise to get justice for that girl and Lakshya, can I meet that girl?" Ragini says and looks at Kavya.

"She's in city hospital, getting treated." Nikhil says.

"Lakshya is also admitted there." Ragini discloses.

"Ms Gadodia, the inspector is waiting for you on the play ground." A librarian walks there and informs Ragini.

Kavya, Nikhil and Ray get surprised, Ragini nods and rushes out and the three follow.

Ragini reaches the playground and sees it crowded.

"I'm sure there's some misunderstanding inspector." Sahil says as he stands in front of the inspector.

"Koi galat femli nahi hui hai inspector." Ragini boldly says as she walks out from the crowd and stands besides the inspector and glares at the boy in red jacket.

"Ms Gadodia, can you recognise who thy were?" The inspector asks and looks at Sahil.

Sahil and the boys look at Ragini.

"That boy in the red jacket and his team mates, including him." Ragini points at the red jacket boy and then moves her finger to Sahil, shocking everyone.

The inspector slightly smirks.

"Constable, arrest all of them!" The inspector orders.

The constables come forward to arrest them.

"One more case needs to be filed against them inspector, a case of. . ." Ragini says and then looks at Sahil.

"Molestation and abuse." Ragini completes while the constables handcuff all the boys Ragini pointed at, including Sahil.

Sahil looks at her and the guy in red jacket fumes.

"But. . ."

"Don't worry inspector, it's not a false case." Ragini interrupts and smiles at the inspector.

The inspector nods while reciprocating to the smile at takes them away with his police force.

The college cheer on while a broad smile curves on the lips of Ray, Kavya and Nikhil.
