RadhaKrishn’s star Kanan Malhotra and wife divorced nine years after marriage

Actor Kanan A Malhotra, renowned for his roles in television series such as Rab Se Sohna Isshq and RadhaKrishn, has exclusively revealed his current relationship status. He is confirmed to be divorced and single. In 2014, Kanan entered into an arranged marriage with Aakanksha Dhingra, an interior designer based in Delhi. However, our sources indicate that Kanan and Aakanksha have been living separately for the past five years, culminating in their divorce being finalized in May of this year.

In discussing the separation, Kanan openly shares, “Our relationship faced challenges that we were unable to overcome. Although there were no major conflicts, our compatibility was lacking. We made the decision to amicably part ways, choosing not to prolong a relationship that was no longer fulfilling. The divorce was officially granted three to four months ago.”

Kanan, who is 37 years old, opted not to discuss the details of the breakup until now. He explains his silence by saying, “The experience deeply affected me. No one enters a marriage with the intention of ending it in divorce. Marriage is a deeply personal commitment, and no one embarks on it with the expectation of separation. I went through a period of profound distress and battled depression for several months.” He declines to elaborate on the specific reasons behind their separation, stating that it is in the past and he has moved on.

Regarding the duration it took for the divorce to be finalized, Kanan clarifies, “Certain legal proceedings and familial considerations contributed to the timeline. Our families respected our decision and the process was concluded on mutual and positive terms, which explains the delay.”

Kanan emphasizes that he and Aakanksha maintain a cordial relationship. He affirms, “We maintain communication and hold no animosity towards each other. While we are no longer together, we harbor no enmity. I have moved forward and am content with my current work.” He concludes on this note.
