Episode 13:

It was 9.30pm. Karan and Naina had another work to do – speak to the person they met at the TRNSPORT DEPT. They had reached the venue an hour before so decided to take a stroll for some time.
Karan: Today was a very long day!!
Naina: Very very long indeed. But thank god Rohan is completely fine now.
Karan: Yeah.
Naina: Karan? What if he had still refused to understand the truth? What would have happened then?
Karan: Kya hua hoga? Woh pagal tha, toh mujhe marke tumhe uttake le gaya hoga. That’s all!
Naina: Acha tum mar khaloge aur badle mujhe chod doge?
Karan starts laughing and runs ahead of her. Naina too chases him. They both get tired after some time and go sit on the bench outside a tea stall. They order two cups of tea.
Naina (panting): Idiot!
Karan doesn’t respond.
Naina: Idiot!!!!
Karan still does not respond.
Naina (pulling Karan’s hand): I was calling you.
Karan: Oh, I thought you were reconfirming your name. (He smirks)
Naina: I hate you!!!
Karan (turns towards in astonishment): Okay.
Naina: What? You said “Okay”?
Karan: Do you have an ear problem?
Naina keeps the tea glass down and walks away.
Karan (to himself): Oh god did she take it seriously!
He keeps his tea cup down pays the money and runs behind her.
TEA SELLER (to himself – laughing): PYAAR TOH AISA HI HOTA HAI!!!
Karan (catches hold of Naina by her wrist): Naina, stop ya! I was just joking. Do you think I will ever say such a thing to you?
He gets really serious.

Karan (holding his ears): Okay Sorry, I am really sorry, I will never do this again.
Naina turns and starts laughing.
Naina: Can only you make fun of me? Even I can! Got it Mr.Karan Singh Chauhan?
Karan: Your madness and mastikhor character is what drives me mad about you.
Naina smiles.
Naina: What time is it now?
Karan: Just 10.
Naina: What will do till then?
Karan (gets naughty): A lot can be done. Where do you want to start from? From here? (Pointing to his lips).
Naina: Abhi bhi masti sooj rahi hai tumhe! Romance karne ka ek bhi moka nahi chodthe ho tum.
Karan: Of course that is my fortay!
Naina: Fortay? So done this even before? (Getting a little jealous)
While Karan realises what he says he turns away and slaps his forehead.
Karan (to himself): Pagal! Forget that! Naina is your life now!
Naina: Karan I am talking to you!
Karan: Huh! What?
Naina: Kiya hai kya isse pehle bhi?
Karan: Of course not. I just mean……

He walks towards her. She keeps moving back.
Naina: Karan! What are you doing?
Karan: I have been trying for two days now! Yeh moka nahi chodunga!!
Naina: Shut up! We are in a public place. Behave yourself.
Karan: Then, come we will go right away and get married.
Naina (blushes): Do you even understand what you are saying?
Karan: Of course I am! (He looks at her intensely).
They share a very intense eye lock. Even unaware of the phone ringing. They come back to their senses and realise that the phone was ringing. Naina looks down at the ground with cheeks as red as tomatoes while Karan attends the call.
Karan: Hello! Karan here.
Caller: Come inside the Café and go meet the manager.
Karan: Who is this speaking?
Caller: Just do what I say!
He cut the call.
Karan: Naina, we have to go in.
They go in and meet the manager. Before they even try to introduce themselves to him he signals towards some jacket. Naina and Karan take the jacket in their hands and look back to find that manager only to find him gone.
Karan: I think there some information in this.
Naina: Just check the jacket once thoroughly.
They check the jacket and find a little piece of paper that has an address and phone number.
Naina: What could this be?
Karan: Probably the culprit’s address and number.
Naina: Maine kabhi socha nahi tha ki humara kaam itni aasani se ho jaayega!
Just as she finished saying that, Karan gets a call.
Karan: Man mein sanka lag gayi lanka! Lo!
Naina: Pick up the call.
Karan: Hello!
Caller: I am the same guy you met today morning. A few things can be told only in secrecy. I am in a situation where I cannot meet you today but come to the address that is mentioned in the note at 1.30pm.
Karan: But sir.
Caller: Do as I say.
He cuts the call.
Karan: Kya yaar pagal aadmi hai! Kuch kehna se pehle hi phone kat dheta hai. He said he will meet us tomorrow in the mentioned address at 1.30.
Naina: I feel we are becoming Sherlock Holmes.
Karan: We have already become like that. Why do such abnormal things happen to us alone?
Naina nods negatively.
Karan: Anyway! Wait call Bhai and ask him where he is? We can go meet them.
Naina: I don’t even think they will pick my call. They might busy – try to understand.
Karan: Ab tu mujhe samjhayegi!
Naina: Okay okay I will call.
She calls up Meghna, and there is no response. Then she calls Kunal- and still no response.
Naina: I told you na they might be busy.
Karan: Haan, ek doosre ki bahon mein.
Naina: Chi besharam. He is your brother, stop talking like this cheaply about them.
Karan: Let’s talk about us then!
Naina: Phir se shuru ho gaya ab! Chalo now let’s go. Mumma will be worried.
Karan: Arey she knows you are with me.
Naina: Then she might be even more worried.
Karan sternly looks at her.
Naina: What? Stop looking at me and go and start the car.
Karan: Okay!!!
They leave in the car and in a few minutes time even reach the hotel.
Naina: Bye Karan!
Karan: Bye! (He was expecting something more).
But it looked like she had forgotten. Naina opened the door and gets up to leave but suddenly sits back and turns towards him. He gets glad that she remembers. He looks at her with a smiling face.
Karan: So you remember?
Naina: Of course I do, but just wanted to confirm.
Karan: What?
Naina: When will you come to pick me up tomorrow?
Karan felt like face palming himself.
Karan: I will call and tell you. (With an upset look).
Naina was actually very well aware of what he wanted but was playing along. She was still seated in the car. Karan was confused as to what more doubts did she have to clear. Finally she comes closer to him and Karan too understand her intention and feels happy. But before she could kiss him on his cheek he turns his face towards her and they share their first passionate kiss. Naina’s eyes bulge out as if they will come out anytime. She moves away and stares at him.
Karan (playfully): Strawberry flavoured balm hai kya! Next time koi doosre flavour lagana.
Naina: You cheat! (she starts hitting him playfully)
Karan catches hold of her hands and stops her from hitting him.
Karan: Thank you for the gift. True – “Intezaar ka phal meeta hota hai”. I will never forget this. I love you Naina!
Naina (feels shrills down her spine): I love you too Karan!

Just then Naina’s phone rings.
Naina: Karan, its di.
Karan: Wow finally, they remember us. Give me the phone.
Naina hands over the phone to him. Karan attends the call.
Karan: Haan, Bhabi. Humari yaad aa gayi aap dono ko!
Meghna (blushes): Nahi Karan, who actually……
Karan: Its okay Its okay, we understand. Private matters. Let it be.
By the time Kunal had taken the phone from Meghna.
Kunal: Saala! Chup.
Karan: Bhai! Aap?
Kunal: Yes me! Car mein kuch gadbad hai Bhai! You wanted to be the chauffeur right? Please be our chauffeur for today.
Karan: Okay Okay, I am coming.
They hang up.
Later they drop Meghna at the hotel and the brothers drive back to their home.
AT CHAUHAN HOUSE:
Kunal: Karan! Today Meghna asked me about your past.
Karan looks at him in shock.
Karan: And?
Kunal: Don’t worry I didn’t tell her anything.
Karan: Why all of a sudden? And how did she know?
Kunal: Woh actually……
He explains as to how accidently he mentioned about Karan’s mistake and all of that.
Kunal: She was feeling scared of Naina’s future, that’s why she asked. Nothing else.
Karan: Does Naina know?
Kunal: No, she does not.
Karan: Bhai! You should have told Bhabi.
Kunal: What???
Karan: Yes Bhai!
Saying that he goes to change and then goes to bed.
Kunal too sleeps peacefully. But Karan keeps thinking about Kunal’s words and is unable to sleep. He is very disturbed. He gets up and makes a call to Meghna.
Karan: Hello!
Meghna: Karan? Iss samay mein tumne mujhe kyun call kiya? Sab teek hai na?
Karan: Yes Bhabi everything is fine actually…..
Meghna (cuts him): Oh wanted to speak to Naina, dialled my number by mistake?
Karan: No Bhabi, wanted to speak to you.
Meghna: Me?
Karan: Haan. Can we meet now?
Meghna: Now?
Karan: Yes now, in the car parking of your hotel.
Meghna (seriously): Is everything fine?
Karan: Yes Bhabi, even if it is not, it will get fine.
Meghna is confused but agrees to meet him.
Karan reaches Meghna’s hotel car parking and sees Meghna already there waiting for him. He comes out and goes towards her.
Meghna: Karan what happened?
Karan: Bhabi, I know there are some doubts about me and my past in your mind, I have come to clear them.
Meghna: Karan, you don’t have to, I trust you.
Karan: I know that Bhabi, but still its better that your doubts are cleared. I don’t want them to be lingering in your mind.
Meghna: Are you sure?
Karan: Yes. It happened two years back!!!!
He hadn’t started but his eyes were already filled with tears…….
Karan: Her name was Kriti……
