Chapter 2.
“Mr. and Ms. Goenka ka accident hua hai!” Aniya whispered.
“Ma’am, false alarm hai. It’s not them. It’s someone else, but they’re not parents of this class, or someone’s parents in this school!” Nisha said.
Naira and Kartik ushered themselves in the hall.
“See I told you Ma’am,” Nisha said. “It’s not them.”
Kartik and Naira went up to Aniya.
“Akshara, Aarohi, Abhimanyu and Neil are there.” Aniya said.
“Okay thank you!” The couple went to get the 4 kids.
“Have you got all your things?” Kartik asked.
“Yes Papa!”
“Yes uncle!”
“Let’s go home then.”
In the car..
“Uncle, why didn’t our parents come to pick us up?” Neil asked
“Your Papa is busy, and your Mumma is also busy.” Naira answered.
Abhi kept quiet. He knew they weren’t busy. He knew Harsh had as always not allowed Manjari to come to the school.
“And we spoke to your parents, they said you will be staying at our house until lockdown ends.”
“What about our stuff?” Abhi asked.
“Your father dropped it off earlier today.”
“Okay.. but online learning?”
“We have managed to pull a few strings, and got you two laptops. 1 each. So you can not miss it.”
“Um.. TRAFFIC!” Aaru said.
“AARU! There’s no traffic, so!” Akshu said.
“Chipkali strikes again!” Neil says.
“Chamkadar!” Akshu shouted. “Don’t call my behen a chipkali!!” She faked a punch.
“Methi Dana!” Abhi shouted. “Don’t punch my brother!” He gently pulled her hair.
“Chidkuram!” Aaru shouted. “Don’t pull my behen’s hair!” She faked punching him.
“Chipkali!” Neil shouted. “Don’t punch my brother!” He gently pulled her hair too.
“These KIDS!” Naira said. “Kids, just be quiet! What is all this, Methi Dana, Chipkali, Chidkuram, Chamkadar!? What is all this!?”
“I know! If they are like this now, what about till lockdown ends!” Kartik said.
“It probably won’t end till next year!” Naira replied. “I say we just leave them to Gayu Di, Naksh Bhai and Kirti Bhabhi! They can handle Krish, Vansh and Vatsal and Krishna, so they can handle 4 more! Can’t they!?”
“True. Kids, we’re dropping you off to Gayu Masi, Naksh Mamu and Kirti Bua’s house.”
“Noo! Noo! They’re soo strict!” Akshu and Aaru said in sync.
“Because they have 4 kids to handle. And they can handle 8!!”
“We can’t handle 2, but they can handle 4 more!!”
“No please no!”
“You think we’re SO strict Akshu and Aaru!?” Naksh said, on the call.
“They heard it!”
“And they saw your fight too. Calling Akshu Methi Dana! Calling Aaru Chipkali! Calling Neil Chamkadar! And calling Abhi Chidkuram!” Naira said.
Akshu crossed her arms, and so did Aaru.
“That’s like good kids! Naksh, Kirti, Gayu, we won’t drop them to Singhania Sadan we’ll just take em’ to Goenka Villa.” Kartik says.
“Okay Kartik, that’s fine. But do bring them some time.”
“After lockdown Bhai. Cases kitne bad gaye hai.”
“Yes, even in London. ”
“Do take care, bad me bat karte hai.”
Naira cuts the call and turns around, surprised to see her younger daughter not being a blabbermouth like she would usually.
“Aaru, why are you so quiet?” Naira asked.
“Mumma! Shh, Hw kar rahi hai!”
“Don’t do it now, we’re here.” Kartik said as he saw his father.
“Abhimanyu, your father had called.” Manish gave Abhi the phone.
“Ji sir.” Abhi said. “Kya kar sakta hoon aapke liye?”
“Don’t try and be a hero. You are staying there till lockdown ends, and I don’t want any of your complaints. Your mother is coming to stay. I don’t want her with my guests. ”
Why is Abhi calling his father, sir? Akshu thought to herself.
When Abhi ended the call, he saw Akshu.
“Why did you -” Akshu had to pause as Naira came. “I’ll ask you later.” She whispered
“Akshu, Aaru, good news! Your Luv Bro and Kush Bro are coming! I just spoke to Shubham, they’re coming.” Kartik says.
“Shubham kon hai!?”
“Luv aur Kush Bhaiya! Yay! They’re soo COOL!” Aaru said.
“Luv Bro? Kush Bro? Shubham? Ab, Who are they?” Abhi asked.
“Akshu and Aaru’s cousin twins! And Shubham is their father, Naira’s elder brother, younger to Naksh though..” Kartik replied. “Naira’s, uh I hope you don’t mind me saying, but Naira’s chamche! ”
“They loved my Kachoris-”
“And they didn’t leave anything for me, mere bhi Khate the” Kartik acted annoyed, and Naira laughed.
“Akshu, kya tum mile ho?” Abhi asked.
“Yep! Bhai hai hamare, of course I have! They’re soo COOL! Like Aaru said, you’ll want to stay awake all night and play!” Akshu put her arm round her younger sister.
“Haan haan but that doesn’t mean you stay awake ALL night girls!” Kartik smirked.
“Mumma, can you call and ask them where they are!” Akshu asked.
“Haan Mumma! Please!” Aaru asked too.
“Ok..! Ok..! Jitna excited ham hai, use aur excited Akshu aur Aaru hai,” Naira said. “I’ll call Kush, Kartik tum Luv ko phone karo.”
Somewhere isolated..
“Luv, that was soo FUN! But dangerous, we shouldn’t do that again!” Kush said getting up from the bike.
“Kush ya, why are you so scared!” Luv teased his twin.
“No- Naira Bua ka phone aya!” Kush said.
“To, why are you so ex- Did you say NAIRA BUA!? I hope Dad didn’t tell them we were coming.”
“Of course he would have, but I hope they didn’t tell Akshara or Aarohi.”
“Why are you calling them by their full names?” Luv asked.
“Don’t know-” Kush stopped in his tracks. “Luv, why are you smirking?”
“Oh no,” Kush said.
“No Luv, NO!”
“Yes Kush, Yes.”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“No!”
“Kush? Who are you saying no to!?” Naira asked, and Luv Kush didn’t know that their Naira Bua was listening.
“Oh God, Bua,” Kush slapped himself. “No, nothing.”
“Firse NO? Ok leave it, Akshu and Aaru are so excited to see you! Where have you reached?” Naira asked, and she gave her daughters a wink and left. Kartik caressed his daughters heads, and went too. Aaru and Neil left and Abhi & Akshu could hear them arguing from the hall.
“Now Abhi, why did you call-” Akshu was interrupted by her sister and Neil.
“Di, tell him na!”
“Bhai, tell HER na!”
“Hua Kya!?” Abhi & Akshu said in sync.
“He/she called me Chamkadar/chipkali AGAIN!” Aaru and Neil said.
“He called me Chip-”
“He called me Chipkali!” Abhi teased her, but Akshu didn’t like that, and she pushed him.
“Neil ! Cmon!” Aaru said. “This is because of us!”
“Di stop it!” Aaru shouted.
“Bhai stop!” Neil shouted.
“Kya ho raha hai ?!” Naira came with Kartik.
“Mumma Di and Abhimanyu are fighting!” Aaru said.
“Naira Ji ?” Manjari said.
“Manjari Ji! Aye!” Naira said.
“Akshu, Abhi, stop arguing!”
“Dost me hota hai!” Abhi stated.
“Okay. But no more! You have to stay together here!” Kartik said.
Manjari has come! And Luv Kush are coming! But what is Abhi hiding from Akshu?
