The Episode starts with Dwarka saying this news would have reached Peshwa as well. Gautama worries. Harku goes to call Ahilya. Ahilya goes to talk to them. Gautama says you aren’t understanding the risk. Ahilya says we can’t get any new thinking without any pain, I will risk my life for Malwa, everything will have a solution in the darbar tomorrow, I will talk to Acharya. Dwarka asks will you argue with him, its overconfidence, you can’t do this. Ahilya doesn’t listen. Its morning, everyone comes in the darbar. Acharya addresses Khanderao and says widow remarriage is a sin, as written in the books, we all will get saved from this sin. All the mahants keep the books. Acharya says anyone can challenge us if they want. Sita says they got all the books to scare Ahilya. Dwarka says Ahilya did a big mistake this time, today she will lose. She smiles.

Acharya says widow remarriage isn’t possible, its not permitted by the Ved and Shastra, Renu and Parikshit can’t get married. Ahilya asks why is it a woman’s mistake if her husband dies, why doesn’t she have a right to live. He says she has no right, a widow has two options, to die as Sati, or stay isolated, she has a place in the heaven, the widow who thinks of another man gets the hell. He argues with Ahilya. He calls it impossible. The people shout. Khanderao stops them. Ahilya says after a wife’s death, a husband gets remarried, why isn’t it bad, I attended a marriage last month, you were also there, the groom was your disciple, everyone told him that he should get remarried to get a child, Renu is a child widow, she didn’t get a child, why do you object to her marriage. He says man is responsible to get the family heir, woman is just a medium, the men have all the rights, so he has a right to get remarried, why do you want to compare men and women, both can’t be equal, a woman can become a reason for the destruction for the world. Gautama says Ahilya is upsetting Acharya, why. Harku says Acharya’s arguments are proved weak so he is angry. Gautama asks will Ahilya win this way.

Harku says I don’t know, she is confident, anything can happen. Gautama says I don’t want to see her losing, but her win will get a new rebel in Malwa, I just want my son to get such respect, not anyone else. Ahilya asks can I ask you something. Acharya says ask. Ahilya asks Acharya how can he say this about a woman. He says a state is known by the women character, one mistake of a woman can ruin the entire society, she should be bound by a man, a free woman becomes the reason of stain and destruction. She says always a woman becomes the prey to a man’s bad intentions, Sita was kidnapped by a man, Draupadi’s cheerharan command was given by a man, why isn’t a man regarded wrong.
