The Episode starts with Colonel Hughes getting an invite from Ahilya. He asks the man to get a nice gift for Ahilya, that she will always remember. Malerao comes to Maina and smiles seeing her. He recalls the britishers’ way of greeting. He asks for her hand to give her good wishes. She says you can give it just like that. He says give me your hand. He sits on his knees and gives her roses. She smiles. He holds her hand and kisses her. Maina gets shy and runs. Ahilya looks on and thinks Malerao is following the britishers. Malerao says I was picking this, it was fallen there, I was coming, no, I was going. He asks Maina to take the roses. He makes excuses and leaves. Ahilya smiles. He collides with Tukoji and Yashwant. He says sorry. He goes. Maina also makes excuses.
Ahilya says Maina, you see the kitchen work today with Mukta, britishers are coming for a feast, everything should be done well, go. Maina gives the roses to her. She goes smiling. Tukoji says you invited Hughes here. Ahilya says trust me, I m doing this after thinking well. Tukoji asks Yashwant to keep an eye on Hughes’ activity. Yashwant agrees. Hughes sees the Malwa palace. He says we will make our colony here. The villagers praise Malerao. Malerao goes ahead. The british officer pays those villagers. Malerao comes to the palace and sees Gunu ji. Dwarka looks on. Malerao thanks Ahilya. She asks why. He says you respected my word, that’s why. She smiles and nods. Dwarka goes to kitchen. She sees Maina and Mukta talking. She says its happening for the first time, Ahilya agreed to someone and changed her decision. Malerao looks on. Dwarka sees him and says I m afraid, she might do what she wishes. She goes. Malerao rushes to welcome Hughes. Hughes comes with his officers. Malerao says welcome to Malwa palace. The ladies do the aarti and welcome Hughes. Malerao introduces Ahilya. Hughes greets her. He says I got some gifts for you, please accept. He gives her a fan and says my country’s queen also uses such fan. She gets shocked seeing a colourful saree. Tukoji gets angry. Ahilya stops him. Hughes asks what happened, didn’t you like this colour, I will get other colour. She says its okay, I like all the colours, but white colour is my identity now, a wife abandons all the colours for her late husband. The man says Sir, Ahilya is a widow, so she wears white colour. Hughes apologizes and says I didn’t do this to hurt you, but to befriend you. Ahilya says our friendship will be there if you don’t want to hurt my heart, you have to understand our culture, else we can just have business.
