The Episode starts with Ahilya saying you have done charity and given too much money to the people, which made them lazy, they won’t have any wish to work now, Malhar would have opposed this if he was here. Gautama comes and says but I m happy, you mean we all have no sense. Ahilya says I didn’t mean that, we will take Malhar’s advice, we will stop the charity till then. Gautama says no way, Khanderao is the heir, he has a right to decide in Malhar’s absence. The charity is done in the village. The people chant Khanderao’s name. Khanderao smiles. The villagers start drinking and playing betting with the money. Gunu ji looks on and smiles. Few village women come to Ahilya and cry. Ahilya asks what happened. The lady says Khanderao has given much money to us, my husband left his work and started drinking. Sarja comes and asks Ahilya to come to the village and see what’s happening. Ahilya goes to the village and meets the women. She hears their woes.
An old man asks for water. She feeds him water. She sees the man’s son sleeping drunk. Sarja says the other village people are asking for dowry in the girl’s marriage after hearing that our village people got rich. Ahilya says I was afraid for this, I m upset and worried, how shall I stop this. Dwarka laughs. Gunu ji says the day Khanderao gets senses, then his empty pocket will hurt him. They laugh.
Khanderao comes to Gangoba and Tukoji. He asks for some money. Ahilya hears this. She says you have already taken the one year salary, you can’t get any money. He says I know but I m the prince, all this is mine, rules can change for me, I should have some money for my expenses, right. She says I had tried to explain this to you, but you didn’t listen to me, Malhar isn’t here, and we all have no right to change or break any rule, if you need, then I can give you money from my salary. He asks why will I take it from your salary when I have filled the treasure by my hardwork, I have a right on the treasure, I m the prince.
She asks him to understand, the treasure has the people’s tax, they can’t claim that money. She says whatever is mine is yours, you had signed the consent form, that you won’t make any demand again for a year. He says you mean these papers are imp than me. He gets angry.
She says yes, like I said…. He tears the paper. Gangoba and Tukoji watch their argument silently. Khanderao says I will be handling Malwa tomorrow, give me the money from the treasure. She says I m talking about today, you aren’t the King yet, Malhar is handling the throne and I m walking on the path shown by him, he asked me to do what’s right for the Praja, I will do that, your donation has made the villagers lazy and drunkard, I was silent, I won’t make the mistake again, this time, I have a right to stop you, Malhar has given me this post. She asks Gangoba to put a penalty on Khanderao for insulting the Rajya rules. Khanderao asks are you in senses. She says Malhar told that punishment makes a person understand mistake, I command that the penalty amount should be deposited in the treasure by tomorrow. He asks what, I have to pay a penalty, what do you think you are, how dare you talk to me like this. She says I didn’t wish to do this, you forced me to do this. He scolds Ahilya.
She says my identity has no meaning and need here, you are going to be punished for insulting the rules, if a person’s birth and post defines him, then Malhar would have not given me this post, he would have seen some capability in me, he trusted me, I have to do my duty, I won’t let anyone break the rules in his absence, if you don’t pay a penalty, then you will be strictly punished. Khanderao says you have gone mad. He picks something to throw. Tukoji shouts no. Ahilya says don’t force me to use my rights against you. Khanderao throws the vase and goes. She cries.
