The Episode starts with Malhar teaching Ahilya and Khanderao. He teaches her to write Shri. She writes. He says amazing, you have written it for the first time and that too so good. Gangoba comes and says some society people and pujari have come to meet you. Malhar asks Ahilya to practice until he comes. He asks Khanderao to help her. He goes. Khanderao spills the ink on the book. She worries. He says I was just coming this side, the ink fell down, it happens. He asks her to use her mind and recall, she can write Shri on her own. She asks him to help her write. She asks will you write it for me once. He smiles and doesn’t help her. She tries hard to write. He says I was thinking how did you write it.
She attempts again. He smiles. Malhar and Gangoba come to darbar. Malhar welcomes the people. The man asks did you decide to educate Ahilya, we don’t think its right. Malhar asks why. The man says we can’t permit girls to study. Malhar says we worship Devi Saraswati, its not right to not allow women to study, how can it be. The man says but its the same tradition that’s followed since ages, there has to be some reason, that’s why let the old things go on. Malhar says you are a soldier, right, do you just take a bow and arrow to go out, no, right, you will go and use other weapons, the results are good. Malhar says change is constant, women complete our families, we can’t imagine lives without them, why shall we keep them away from happiness.
Malhar looks at them. He says I know why my move is opposed, its men’s fear and insecurity that women will get educated and then try to get equal to us, its just our fear. He asks the men if they disagree. The men get seated. The man says we have no courage to oppose you, its not written in Shastras that women can’t study, but what will they do after gaining knowledge. He says when we send our boys to study, it doesn’t happen that they stay hiding in the books always, one doesn’t leave thinking after learning, its wrong to think that girls will forget their responsibilities, if they study, then coming generation will get well affected. He asks them to think. He says I can see, you all aren’t able to understand this, such a big change will take time, I understood this by seeing you, I declare that Ahilya will gain education.
He says you stay happy or upset with this, none can stop Ahilya’s education. Malhar says Guru ji, you had praised Ahilya’s smartness that day, you do what you find right, you think about it, you are doing wrong by not teaching Ahilya. He says both the parties have spoken well, there is nothing to say, thanks for coming here. He leaves. Ahilya tries to study. Khanderao says you have to study, you increased dad’s work, he will handle Malwa and also teach you, he will come back and ask you about it. He smiles. Ahilya closes eyes and tries to write. He says she is strange, don’t know what is she doing. She writes Shri. Malhar comes and smiles seeing her.

Ahilya asks Harku when did she come. Harku says some time back. Ahilya says I don’t know what will happen next. Harku says I have a solution. Malhar says Khanderao dislikes Ahilya, I have to talk to him. Harku says I explained Ahilya what to do, she will solve the problem. He asks what will she do. She smiles.
