Promise to kiss me..!!
*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*

Swara’s pov started.,

“Let’s get married!” Was what we promised each other when we were small?

As the years passed, we still kept that promise.

Until, we reached college.

Sanskar started dating girls I didn’t know of, girls from different colleges, different grades.

I felt alone when he wasn’t there with me.

I was at his side, but he felt so far.

I wanted to touch him, but he was out of my reach.

We knew each other even before we went school.

Sanskar knew everything about me, and I knew everything about him.

He knew my family and I knew his.

He knew my weird side that I’d only show to a couple of people.

I was the only one who got him mad, since he always had that smile on his face.

Sanskar knew I was scared of thunder and I knew he was the type of boy that liked to shop.

Sanskar was always sweet to me and made me smile.

He knew how to brighten my day when I was feeling down.

Really Sanskar was my true bestiee…!!

But, He never thought of my feelings.

When I confronted him, he didn’t remember anything or at least he tried not to.

All he said was “That was a long time ago. I don’t remember any PROMISE.”

It hurt me when Sanskar said that.

I felt my heart break into a million pieces.

Several years passed and I tried to move on by dating other people.

But I still couldn’t get over that fact that I was in love with him completely.

Seeing him with other girls made me feel sad.

When Sanskar wouldn’t say my name, or even look my direction.

We grew apart by every second.

So all I had to do was move on.

I couldn’t do anything to change his mind.

As the days passed we still kept in contact but never actually got to have a real conversation.

Sanskar had someone he was in love with.

I had someone I thought I liked.

I told my friends and they told me it wasn’t love, it was just admiration.

It wasn’t the same feeling I had for Sanskar.

They told me to just tell Sanskar how I felt about him and everything will be alright, so I did.

The ending of the term was when I told him.

Sanskar didn’t know how to respond and was hesitating to answer back.

“It’s alright, you don’t need to answer. I just wanted you to know.” I explained.

Before I said good-bye I walked up to him. And pecked him on the lips and ran away like a little girl.

”MY FIRST KISS!!” I squealed to myself.

When I knew I was far away, I turned around to look at him.

Sanskar was just standing there with his hands on his lips.

It looked like he didn’t know what to do.

I just laughed and carried on my way home.

Smiling and feeling accomplished, I couldn’t wait for the next day.

The next day we saw each other.

I did my best and acted like my usual self.

I just smiled and walked away. Knowing I’ll have to avoid him for the next couple of days until things settled down a bit.

I saw Sanskar one day, with the girl Kavya he told me he was in love with.

So just walking by, and heard the tone of Kavya’s voice.

It sounded as if she was pissed off about something.

While his voiced, sounded worried but also calm.

Sanskar spotted me and gestured me to come closer and I obeyed.

“This is my childhood friend, and she was the one I was talking to you about.” Sanskar said in a calm voice.

Sanskar took my hand into his, which made me turn pink.

He gave a small chuckle and looked at the girl.

“So, THIS IS THE GIRL.” Kavya’s voice was sassy and irritated.

“The way you described her, you made it sound as if she was pretty.” Kavya glared at me.

I saw how her eyes were examining me, she looked disgusted.

“I didn’t say she is pretty, I said she is beautiful in a way.” Sanskar grinned at me and made me blush darker.

“She doesn’t look anything close to beautiful, let alone pretty. I don’t see why you have an interest in a girl like her.” Kavya complained.

I didn’t like her attitude.

It was starting to annoy me.

I was about to say something in defense, but Sanskar stopped me.

He lightly pulled my arm back and spoke for me.

“If you’re going to criticize someone who’s important to me, then let me tell you this. You’re not worth my time.” His tone was cold as ice.

Kavya gave him a look.

“So, you’re choosing her over me…??” Kavya said in surprised voice.

“Well, at least Swara doesn’t play with my feelings, like the way you do. She understands me a lot better than you do.” Sanskar stuck out his tongue, grabbed my wrist and dragged me along with him, leaving Kavya behind speechless.

From the distance I could hear Kavya’s cursing.

In my mind, I was laugh a little.

“Hey…Hey! HEY!” I shouted.

“Hmm? What’s up?” Sanskar turned to face me with my arm still in his grip.

“What’re you doing…?? Isn’t she the girl…I mean, is Kavya the girl you’re in love with…??” I jerked back my arm from him.

“Well, I thought she was.” Sanskar said.

“What do you mean, ‘I thought she was’…?? You told me you were in love with her! Don’t be saying that now!” I shouted at him.

“Well, it’s because of what you told me that day. I couldn’t stop thinking about you.” Sanskar said looking towards the other direction.

“Huh?” I didn’t get at all what Sanskar was talking about.

“Man you’re too slow and acted like dumb Swara. What I’m trying to say, is that I love you too.” Sanskar scratched the back of his head, avoiding my eyes.

“You’re…You’re infatuated by me! Don’t say that! I know how much you were in love with Kavya! You’re so stup…” I was cut off by his lips crashing into mines.

My body froze as I felt his hand wrap around my waist and his other hand in my hair.

He broke the kiss and looked into my eyes.

I was still frozen by what happened.

“Stupid! I’m confessing my feelings to you and you’re rejecting me. And you were the one who confessed first. And yes, I thought I was in love with that Kavya. But as I looked back into my memories, it was mostly with you. I couldn’t get your smile out of my head. Your voice was like a melody in me. That’s when I realized that I was in love with you all these years but didn’t notice. You’re my true bestiee and I love you, I don’t want to lose you. I looked back into my middle school, high school and all college memories and saw how I just casted you aside and left you there. Well, now I’m back and here to pick you up. You’re never leaving my side.” Sanskar broke into a big smile.

I couldn’t help but cry.

All my feelings for Sanskar were flowing out of me with tears.

“I…I only had these fe…feelings for you.” I sobbed.

Sanskar kisses my forehead and brought me into his embrace, placing his chin on my head.

“Stop crying, it’s making me look like a bad guy.” Sanskar said.

“He made her cry! That’s really mean!” The people who were passing by whispered.

“SHUT-UP! I can hear you!” Sanskar warned them.

I gave out a small giggle and hugged him back.

“I think your answer is a little late.” I grinned at him.

“At least I told you, unlike those jerks that broke your heart.” Sanskar pointed out.

“You had to go there?”

“Of course. It’s getting late…I should walk you back home.” Sanskar said.

“Alright!” I smiled at him.

Our fingers were laced together as he walked me home.

‘He has a really big hand.’ I thought.

“You know, you have a really small and so soft hand as compared to mines.” Sanskar said.

‘We were thinking the same thing.’ I giggled a little.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

“No, nothing. Nothing at all.” I smiled up to him.

He smiled back.

“You’re a little weird.” Sanskar said.

“You’ve known me forever, and only now you noticed.” I pointed out.

“Well sorry for being late.” Sanskar pouted.

We were almost at my house when we stopped by the park that was close by.

“Let’s sit for awhile. I want to be with you a little longer.” Sanskar said.

Sanskar knew what to say to me that’ll always make me blush, and he noticed it.

He brought me over towards the swings, where we sat and talked for awhile.

“I’m really sorry…I haven’t noticed my feelings for you.” Sanskar whispered under his breath.

“It’s alright! I’m not really bothered by it. The truth is I didn’t really care whether you liked me more than a friend. I use to always think, if you were happy, then I was happy. But now that I know your feelings, I’m all fluttery inside. My heart won’t stop beating, even now and with you just sitting next to me.” I confessed

“Pfft!” I heard him say.

“HEY! What’s so funny!?” I yelled at him.

“No…it’s…just…you’re killing me!” Sanskar said through his laugh.

“Jerk.” I pouted.

“Sorry, it’s just, I found you deep innocent moreover you’re so cute.” Sanskar stood up from the swig and leaned over mines in the front.

I looked up to him and was starring into his dark brown eyes and he was starring into mines.

“Do you still remember the promised we made when we were small?” Sanskar asked.

“Which one? We made a lot of promises if I remember.” I asked innocent way.

Sanskar took out and an object from his pocket and kneeled down on one knee.

“What are you doing?” My heart started beating really fast.

“I’m trying to fulfill our promise. I love you, I knew you forever, and I want to be with you forever. So, will you do the honor and marry me.” Sanskar held out the object he took out of his pocket.

It was a simple right that had a diamond on it.

“Where did you get this?” I was amazed by what he had just said.

“It’s my granny’s wedding ring. My Mommy gave it to me and told me to give it to the girl I wanted to spend my whole life with.” Sanskar took the ring out of his palm and slipped the ring on my left ring finger.

“So, what do you say?” Sanskar looked at me with a worried face.

Tears were streaming down my face.

I couldn’t speak at all but I nodded my head.

Sanskar let out a sigh and smiled at me.

He hugged my waist and picked me up and spun me around in the air.

“You don’t know how happy you’ve made me.” His smile was brighter than usual.

He placed me down.

Without anymore hesitation, he kissed my forehead and brought my into his embrace, rocking me back and forth.

I wrapped my arms around him.

“Can you PROMISE me something first?” I asked.

“And that would be?” He looked down at me.

“PROMISE TO KISS ME…!!” I said sweetly.

“That, is a PROMISE I CAN FULFILL.” Sanskar kissed me passionately under the starry night sky.

Swara’s pov ended.
