Producer Suhail Zaidi opens up about Amar Upadhyay’s exit from Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho
Producer Suhail Zaidi recently addressed Amar Upadhyay’s exit as a producer and actor from the TV show Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho, which now features Priyanka Dhawale and Harsh Nagar in the lead roles. Shedding light on the situation in a recent interview, Zaidi expressed his perspective on the changes.
Zaidi remarked, “In the course of time, everyone needs to move on. Currently, we are all enjoying the progress of the show. It is going well, and viewers are enjoying it. I am fine with Amar’s departure, as it now simplifies the decision-making process. I believe that everything happens for the best, and both parties are doing well and exploring new opportunities.”
Reflecting on his journey in the entertainment industry, Zaidi shared insights into his early experiences. “I began my showbiz journey with Subhash Ghai’s company and later ventured into ad films with Kavita Dixit. Subsequently, I worked with a well-known news company. In January 2000, I arrived in Mumbai as an executive producer for the TV show Safar, featuring Sudesh Berry, Bengamin Gilani, Mahesh Thakur, and others. Following that, I produced serials such as Hairat, Talaash, Zameer, Maryada, and more. In 2008, I served as a creative EP for popular shows like Ruby and Kumkum. Afterward, I took on the role of project head for the setup of the TV show Chand Ke Paar Chalo, starring actress Yami Gautam.”
Talking further about his journey, Zaidi elaborated, “After the success of Chand Ke Paar Chalo, I received opportunities to set up shows for various production houses, including Bhagya Vidhata, Jhansi Ki Rani, Sanskar Laxmi, Afsar Bitiya, and others. I became the head of projects in fiction, setting up a popular show that continues to trend even today, Savdhaan India. I was also associated with Ishq Kills. Later on, I handled the P&L for shows like Tashan-E-Ishq, Mela, Fear Files, and more. Subsequently, I ventured into producing shows such as Crime Patrol, Bhor Bhakti, Phir Yeh Nadaniyan, and a few web series. Currently, I am producing my own show.”
