RANBIR’S ROOM

Ranbir was boxing as he was angry as hell. Aryan comes there and throw a ball-( showing that he is angry too). Ranbir was shocked to see Mr. Cool Aryan angry!!!

Ranbir: Kya hua? Itne gusse me kyu hu??

Aryan: Kya hua? Seriously? You did not see what is happening there? Kaise voh Shahana aur voh Neeraj baate kar rahi hai- haste haste.(Aryan mimics them smiling. Ranbir bites his lips to control his smile). I have not seen her talking to much boys in our college and now, she is not stopping, talking and talking and talking. What is there too much to talk?

Ranbir: Kuch jalne ki boo aa rahi hai. Aryan is that you?

Aryan: Hello!!! It may be from you. I have been noticing how uneasy you were when Pranav hugged Prachi, when Shrenu told that he likes her and…

Ranbir: stop. There is nothing like that..

Aryan: Accha… Then why did you get up from there angrily and now you are boxing.

Ranbir: voh mujhe kuch kaam yaad aa gaya tha. And if I am boxing that doesn’t mean that I am angry…..

Aryan: Then what does that mean?

Ranbir: first you tell me why you threw the ball in anger???

Aryan: voh…..mei…..voh……I….

Ranbir: words seek rahe ho kya?

Abhi: so you know Pragya and Prachi earlier. And they didn’t tell me. Why?

Pragya: mujhe toh nahi pata tha ki ye apki dosth Uday hu.

Uday: aur hame nahi pata tha Prachi aapki beti aur Pragya tumhare wife ho. Why? Why weren’t you together?

Pragya, Abhi and Alia look at each other feeling embarrassed.

Abhi: voh… Actually…some misunderstandings….and…

UMA: so how long did you remain separate?

Pragya: hmmm…20 years…

Uday: 20 years!!! For some misunderstandings???

Abhi: it is not just misunderstanding( he explains what happened)

UMA: this is what is called misunderstanding.

Uday: Abhi, don’t feel sad if I say something. You were my childhood friend and I am seeing you after a very long time. Many things have changed, but I have to tell you, the think that you lack is proper communication. If you hear something wrong about your partner, the first person whom you should discuss it with is your partner. Trust is very important in every relation. And in marriage it is a must. It has been 29 years since I am uma got married. And we had never left each other. If we have some problem, we talk to each other.

UMA: it is not just misunderstanding but ego. Because of these two things, Rhea didn’t get the love and care of and mother and Prachi didn’t get the care and love of a father. And you both lost 20 precious years of your married life.

Uday: please don’t allow such mistakes to happen in life again. It will hurt Prachi. If Prachi gets hurt, we all gets hurt.

Servant: Sir, the designers are calling you.please come.

Abhi: Okay. Pragya, please come with me.

Abhi and Pragya leave.

Vikram: My man tell me. What all happened, what are your future plans?

Uday: I am thinking of staying here in India for a few years. Even my children like that. We want them to get married to Indians. We are going to start a new branch here.

Vikram: oh great…. So we’re are you going to stay? We all can stay here.

Uday: oh no..u and my family will be here for just three months, that too due to Abhi’s insistence. We will then move to our place in Mumbai. We are setting up our new branch there. Prachi beta know the place. She used to come there.

Pallavi (in mind): jab se is log aaya hai tab se laga raka ha Prachi Prachi Prachi. Aise kya kar diya hai us ladki ne?

Pallavi( to Uma): well….how do you know Prachi?

UMA: actually, Prachi is Shrenu’s friend.

Pallavi: that middle class girl….I mean Prachi and your daughter were friends? No one knew that she is Abhi’s daughter,she was considered a middle class girl. And your daughter, who is brought up in silver spoon made friends with her? Shrenu is great.

UMA: pallaviji tell me one thing, do you make friends looking their social and economic status?

Pallavi: I didn’t mean that. Shrenu was brought up in foreign and Prachi here then how did they meet…

UMA: oh… Thay met during a camp held in Kerala and became friends.

Pallavi: so Prachi became friends with a rich girl.

Uma:Shrenu usually do not reveal her identity when she is alone in India due to security reasons. Once we invited her to Shrenu’s birthday party to our home in Mumbai. That is when she came to know about us. Actually she kept a distance from us knowing our status as she felt high class people don’t like middle class people. She is well mannered. She know how to behave with elders, boys, girls, how to love children…… I want a bahu like her.

Abhi was thinking what Uday and Uma was thinking. So was Pragya.

Pragya: kya soch rahi hai aap?

Abhi woke up from his trance: aah..voh… I was thinking what Uday had said.

Pragya: even I was thinking the same.

Abhi: our ego and misunderstanding cost 20 years…. These 20 years not only we, but our children too had to suffer. Uday was right, we should believe each other. We should never repeat our mistake. Promise me.

Pragya: promise.

Abhi was sitting on the bed and Pragya was standing. He pulled her close and both started crying hugging each other.

Prachi and Rhea was hearing and seeing all this ( but standing in different places. Abhigya can’t see prhea. Prachi and Rhea can’t see each other.)

They smiled.

Prachi(in mind): thank you Uday uncle and Uma aunty.
