Pehredaar Piya Ki- 12 years later (episode 2)

(Diya’s POV)

“Today is the day I wished for all these years. Then why is this happening to me?? Main itna nervous kyu feel kar rahi hun?, mujhe samajh hi nahi aa raha hain…(sighs)

Khair, today’s the big day I hope the preparations go well….
I hope everything goes well.” After finishing her makeup, she got up.

Diya is her usual self. Not changed a bit, as beautiful as before, just more mature, after Ratan went to boarding school she started her further studies and got an MBA..she took over the family businesses and maintained the kesar mahal and the hotel. The family was now much more celebrated and famous with the coveted title of the most rich royal family of india. All because of Diya.

She was after all not that old, just 30. Many of her friends had gotten married at this age and it works out they tell her. She put on her beautiful neckpiece, one of Padma’s most favourite jadau haar as kaki saa told her. Now she understood what kind of pain Ratan would have faced then, she too lost her mother 3 years back due to osteoporosis.

When this unfortunate incident happened, Ratan was in a very important tournament in London. When he learnt about it he immediately returned, leaving his tournament even after qualifying in the finals. She even saw him crying secretly in his room, after all it was a big loss for him as well as he had always loved her like his own mother. So she decided not to confront him on that. Just then hoky pounces on her from the front and poky pounces from the back. They are old but still priceless. “Thank god I don’t fear the dogs any more. I’ll be thanking Ratan saa for this.”
“Anyways, lets consider doing some work.” She thought.

She goes to her desk. Opens a checklist..
“Hmm……decor done…invites sent….media called….food arranged….clothes selected……music…….zzzzz(gets a phone message)

“Manager” this is what people thought she was.
Ms Diya Singh, manager of the Surajgarh royal family. And not HRH Maharani Diya Ratan Singh of Surajgarh. But she was okay with it, she had always got the respect that she deserved.

She got ready quickly and stepped downstairs..
…”2 hours to go” she thought in her mind. And. “THUD” she collided..”OH! I’m so sorry…”

“Arrey! Sambhal ke rani saa, abhi gir jaati aap!” Choti thakranisaa said.

“Kaki saa, aap? Good morning….ek minute..” she said recapturing her breath.
“Kaki maa saa, kitni baar kaha hai aapse, rani saa nahi, beti bulaengi aap mujhe..” Diya told her.

“Accha thik hain, to beta aaj badi khush lag rahi hain aap!! And why not, today’s your day. The day you were waiting for since
12 years. Nervous hona to banta hain. Anyways, preparations done??”

“Yes, kaki saa, I also called panditji yesterday, he told me that he will take care off all the rituals.”

“Okay then, all the best to you”

“Ji kaki maa aabhar..”she said as kaki maa proceeds.

Muttering in her head “I needed that all the best very badly.”

“I don’t know what Ratan saa would be thinking right now.” Diya talks to herself and prepares herself mentally, and overlooks on the preparations……………………..to be continued.
