Part 32 24/04/2019
Mehak reached her hotel room and slumped on the bed. She felt the entire world has crumbled down. One side of her heart refuses to believe what she saw there but another half said Shaurya doesn’t love her anymore. The beads of water started falling down one after another, without a sign of stopping. She wipes them away with the back of her palm and runs into the bathroom crying under the shower as all her walls of emotions crumble down.
Back in his hotel, Shaurya came looking for Mehak and his staff told him that she left with the driver and he thought that since he was busy so she left earlier, he wishes them good night and get into the car and summoned the driver to head to the hotel. He reached his room and saw the room was pitch dark and he notice a figure covered with the duvet and he didn’t want to disturb her and went to freshen up but in the darkness, Mehak wiped away the tears she is shedding silently as her mind keep chanting, he doesn’t love you anymore.
During breakfast her expression was bland towards him, he did notice the red eyes and her face shows that she is not alright. The usual chirpy Mehak is not in front of him instead of a quiet with a broken expression one who is still playing with her food. He put his cutleries down and called her Mehak, she was in her on world till he called her again as the place his palm on her hand which was on the table. She immediately looked at him and pulled her hand away from him. She turned her face away from him not meeting his eyes. He was shaken by her action and asked Mehak what happen? Did you cry? Did anything happen? Her chin trembled and she sniffled a bit controlling the tear which will come down at any time, she stuffs her mouth with the food and said nothing happened, then why are you sad, yesterday you were all different, happy and jovial and today you are gloomy silent as if something is wrong. Tell me what happens, Shaurya asked in his concern tone. Mehak continues to shove in more food and mumbled nothing happened, I just realized people will change and I need to get myself used to all these things. Who changed now Mehak? Is nothing, just leave me alone she wiped her mouth with the napkin as she gulped some water. She was about to get up from her seat, Shaurya held her wrist and pull her back to the sit, tell me what changed and who changed? Don’t change the topic now. She gives him a sympathetic smile and said everything is changed now don’t you realize that Shaurya. Her tone, her sentence wrecked his heart and he is confused with her now. He doesn’t know what exactly happens and now her utterly insane behavior causing him turmoil. He gets up from his seat not letting go of his grip on her wrist, she struggled to free herself from his hold but he was not loosening it. What happened now Mehak? Since we came here you were fine and we did everything just like a normal couple do even last night things were okay we danced and all but today since morning I am watching you didn’t look at me even once, now you are looking at me as if I did something disgusting. Tell me what’s wrong Mehak he demanded an explanation. The other guests in the restaurant looked at them and Mehak realize that they are being watched she mumbled as she looks down, let me go Shaurya don’t create a scene here people are looking at us. He mumbled with the stern tone, I want to know what happened till that I don’t give a damn to anything or anyone. Mehak looks back into his eyes after tired of struggling with him. Let me go Shaurya, I want to go back to Delhi, I miss PD and everyone at home. Hearing her suddenly want to leave him and going back to Delhi made him let go the hold on her wrist, he takes a deep breath and steps back as his eyes were still on her. He asked slowly how about the party that Mr. Jatin invited us. She replied I am not coming to the party. His heart clenched in a way and his jaw tightened hearing her. He wanted to say something but she quick to say that I am leaving with Sonal and Vicky to Delhi today. She left him without looking at his face and he plopped down on the seat as he closed his eyes to calm himself.
Back in the room Mehak shut the door as she fell on the bed and let the tears overflow down her cheeks, she has been holding on them and didn’t want to cry in front of Shaurya but now she doesn’t care anymore. She muffled on the pillow and sobbed heavily. She didn’t realize when she slept after heavily cried, she got up and it was noon by then, wiping her face with the back of her palm she headed to the bathroom to splash some water on herself, she get back into the room and started to pull out her suitcase and taking all the clothes in the wardrobe dumping them into the suitcase angrily. In between she sobbed remembering how they spent each and every day at Jaipur, walking around the new city, the way how both chase one another in the room the other day when he pranked her while watching horror movie and many more sweet memories they had till her mind drifted again when Shaurya holding another person into the hotel room. Why did you do this to me Shaurya, why? I thought everything is good between us and we are okay now but yesterday what happens to you? Who is she, she sobbed again when her mobile ring, she took the mobile to see whose calling it was from Sonal. She scrunched her nose and slide the button to answer.
On the other end, Sonal with Vicky was anxious to hear Mehak’s voice but she became restless when she heard her sobbing loudly and she asked her what happen why she is crying, seeing Sonal’s expression Vicky suggested that to go and see Mehak. They rushed to the hotel to see her. Sonal and Vicky became restless seeing the crying Mehak. She was resting her head on Sonal’s lap and Sonal was caressing her head slowly and giving her time to calm down herself. When seeing Mehak in that condition, Vicky quickly take out his mobile and said I am going to call bhaiya and asked him to come here so we will know what happens. Hearing him saying that, Mehak quickly gets up and wipes her eyes and said Vicky no need to call anyone. I am coming back to Delhi with you all and please book me a ticket. Sonal I am coming to stay with you all and not going back to that house again she declared. Seeing her in that condition Sonal and Vicky looked at each other and Vicky sit to next to her and asked, bhabhi can you please tell us what happen till you are crying since we came in and now you want to go back home. Did Bhaiya said something? Whatever it is please tell us you are scaring us. Mehak takes a deep breath and told them what she saw the previous night and continued I was right Shaurya Khanna will never change, he will only break people’s heart. Sonal tapped on her head and glared at her. Mehak looked at her and asked why are you hitting me? He the one cheated me instead of beating him you are looking at me as if I did something wrong? Mehak earlier you were the one left the home in anger and when came back all of us tried so hard to explain to you how much he has changed within this one year. He has changed for you for good. Now even he wants to be bad he can’t because he loves you. Mehak gasped when she heard Sonal said this. But last night that girl, before she could say something Sonal cut in, not whatever you saw are what you think Mehak. Yesterday what you saw was a completely different thing. The girl is one of the guests checked into the hotel and she was totally drunken, she lost her room key and she literally dragging herself and making a hell of a mess at the lobby, Vicky went to get the duplicate key card to her room and opened for us. While doing that she vomited on Vicky and he needs to clean himself up. Shaurya came by and saw him help to hold that girl while I was in the room helping her to rest so that’s all happened. Hearing all Mehak was astonished she slapped her forehead in regret for thinking in such. After all, she didn’t know what happened and she keeps saying I did a mistake Sonal, I didn’t know what actually happened and from behind when I see, I saw Shaurya with that girl and I thought like that. See bhabhi, bhaiya is not that bad that he will go after any other woman, he is loyal to you and his heart and soul all belongs to you. Even after you left, many business partners tried to hook him up with one night stand but he refused all because he is only desired to you. Mehak felt so stupid of herself for thinking ill about Shaurya and another stream of tears started to roll out from her eyes. I don’t know what to do now Sonal, I hurt his feelings he must be furious at me for behaving such way in the morning. I break his heart and he must be upset. What shall I do now? Sonal lifted Mehak’s face and wiped her tears away and said, it’s okay Mehak everyone does mistake and I am not blaming you completely as from your view it looks such that you misconnected everything I am glad at least you told us this now and not running away like an idiot. All three burst into laughter. So bhabhi you still want me to book the ticket back to Delhi or you want to stay in Jaipur till the weekend? Mehak started to blush heavily hearing him and pushed him away. Vicky teased her wow bhabhi you can blush too, we need to take pictures of this moment and he took a selfie with them.
At his room, Shaurya busies with the emails and replying them as he kept himself occupied. He tries to concentrate on something instead of thinking about the argument he had with Mehak during breakfast. He rested his back on his seat as he brings his both hands forward tapping his fingers with one another thinking what would have happened and why Mehak reacted such way. Clearly, he knows she is upset because of something but he doesn’t know what is bothering her, he quickly shut his MacBook down as he took paperweight from his table as he rolls them on his table puzzled with the morning incident. He can’t stay calm ignoring things and he picked his mobile and unlock as his eyes see the screensaver. It was the shot taken last night by the media. One of them forwarded to him and he immediately set that as his screensaver. His gaze fixes on the photo how happy they are in each other’s embrace. He felt like olden days like how they posed during their wedding times. His moment was interrupted when the intercom rings, he pressed to answer it, his staff informed, Mr. Khanna your appointment with the Jaipur Times are here, can I send them over to your room? Shaurya closed his eyes and takes a deep breath, yes please send them in, He gets up from his seat as he adjusts his jacket and combed his hair with his fingers as he goes for the interview.
Back in the hotel room, the trio sat on the couch as they ordered some food via room service and started to watch some comedy movie together. Sonal asked Mehak, what time Shaurya coming, she quickly said I don’t think he will come early as he has to go to the party organized by Mr Jatin. Sonal asked so you are not going is it, how to go, he already has taken his suit to get ready and go from there, some more in the morning I told him I am not coming with him. So I am not going. Sonal knocked her head gently and asked do you have any brain Mehak, so what, you get ready and go and surprise him, apologize to him for behaving like stupid in the morning and open up with him about your feelings and start anew. But Sonal, how can I do these, I am so scared he will scold me. Never mind let him scold but once you open up with him trust me he will melt like ice cream and everything will be alright. Mehak who was munching her snack put the bowl on the table, okay then I will go shower now, you help me to get ready and both of you send me to the party. Then let’s see what that khadoos Kumar’s reaction is going to be. She quickly went inside the washroom to freshen up excitedly.
Mehak was sitting in front of the dressing table with Sonal doing her makeup and hairdo. While Vicky watches TV at the hall area. He keeps asking them what is taking so long as he can’t wait to see Mehak. Mehak dressed in black net saree with bead works, the saree’s transparency material shows her skin. Sonal asked Mehak to open her eyes and look at the mirror and Mehak can’t believe it herself. Sonal did her eyes in smoky effect with a light pink lipstick and a dangling earring complete her look. She made her straight hair into wavy locks and she looked absolutely stunning. Mehak quickly hugged Sonal and said, what do I do without you, I love you yaar, and you are the best of the best friend. Sonal patted her, now go and confess everything and clear up all these misunderstandings. Poor Majnun Khanna doesn’t know what is he doing there. Hearing their talk Vicky came in and awe at Mehak and he hold Mehak’s both hands with his and said bhabhi you are creating fire, today after bhaiya see you like this, he is totally flat and I guarantee not only bhaiya any men who see you there are going to ask for dance and make my brother woo in jealous. So before my brother dance with you let me dance with you first and both sister in law and brother in law mimicked a ballroom dance step as Sonal looked at them and interrupt them, Vicky we need to send her to the party stop wasting time anymore. They walked out of the room and headed to their car. Vicky asked the driver to drive to the venue and driver ignited the car.
While at the party, Shaurya who dressed in a white tuxedo with black bow goes around getting to know people and conversing as usual. Mr. Jatin asked where Mehak is but he only manages to reply, she is not well, so I came. Mr. Jatin asked him to enjoy the party. While Mehak reached the venue, Vicky and Sonal wished her good luck and call them to update what is happening and don’t worry about anything. As Mehak gets inside the lift, she was smiling all the way but she didn’t realize that there were two pair of eyes were ogling at her. Once her floor arrived the lift opened she quickly stepped out walking towards the party hall. She was nervous as hell when reaching the hall and the guards open the door giving her the way to go in. She takes a deep breath and stepped in slowly. Her eyes look for that one person, she looks around the hall but the loud music and the party lights don’t help her. As Shaurya gulps his champagne, Mr. Jatin nudged him and Shaurya turned to look at him, Shaurya you said your wife is not well but look at this beauty as he pointed out to Mehak who is standing far away as all the guests’ eyes were fixed on her. Shaurya almost choked seeing the bewitching sight of his wife. He put his champagne flute away as his legs got its own brain and started to walk towards her. Till earlier he was distraught about her behavior and he wonders what he is going to do with her but now her sudden presence in the party made him speechless. He reached her and as a reflex, he forwarded his hand to her and she immediately placed hers in his. He brings her beside him and looked at her as the crowd still murmuring about them.
The Emcee greeted all and welcomed them to the party. Mr. Jatin went to the stage and he announced the reason for the party is that his son has returned from America and will start to take over his business and this party is to celebrate his son’s arrival and to introduce his son to all his business associates. All clapped and as usual when the champagne bottle opened for the toast and the filled the flute and made a wish with the rest of the guests. They announced for couple dance and the guests with their partner came into the center of the hall to start dancing. Mr. Jatin signed at Shaurya to dance too so he walked into the center with Mehak to start dancing. They played Akh Lad Jaave song and both started to dance along with the rest of the guests

Mehak’s POV.
My heartbeat rose high after seeing Shaurya clad in his white tuxedo, I can’t even open my mouth to say what I want to say, He is extremely hot tonight and I notice many ladies are having an eye on him. As the music started and the host asked both of us to dance Shaurya bring me to dance floor to dance but I need to speak to him first, this is important but the song they played the meaning it carries in between speaks some other stuff. Now my back is touching his chest and both of hands on each other’s held out. His minty breath keeps hitting on my shoulder skin. His bearded cheek brushed my hair as his breath caressed my ears. He turned me swiftly and now I face him, my eyes were on his and my hands rested on his chest. His hand came to my waist as he held me possessively tight which created an unknown pleasure in me as I intake a sharp breath. My heart skipped a beat when I realize he is caressing my waist area with his thumb. Unknowingly I bite my lips as looking into him. His eyes saying something deep but I couldn’t understand what it is. I am sure he is upset with me about my reaction in the morning, I should apologize to him and wants a fresh start in their relationship.
Shaurya’s POV
I am perplexed seeing Mehak dressing in that black saree, she looks hot or even in local language like a maal, and I couldn’t take my eyes off from her. The smoky eyes effect with the wavy locks and the saree reveals the skin on her waist she is truly a sight. She ignited the fire in me now. I looked into her eyes and saw her restlessness and her willingness. She wants to say something and I want her to say it but since she came in she didn’t utter a single word, does she wants me to understand her. What is she going to say this thought ruffled in my mind? Her eyes speak something and I want to hear it from her. I am equally confused with her behavior earlier she doesn’t want to come to the party but now she came in dressed like the bewitching goddess of beauty and all eyes are set on her. Her ethereal beauty is becoming a threat to myself. Whatever the adjective to describe beauty is an understatement to describe how drop dead gorgeous she looks now. My hand unknowingly grabbed on her waist harder and she immediately bites her lower lip, that’s it I felt immediately turned on. But I want to play a game with her and see what is she wants to tell me. Sorry, darling you made me restless the whole day so now it’s my turn. I grinned mischievously as looking at her.
The music ended and all clapped for the beautiful dance performance. Shaurya walked to meet someone leaving Mehak. Seeing Shaurya with some others, Mehak decided to walk slowly to him to talk. She walked slowly towards him and she stands behind him. Shaurya knows that she is behind him but he made himself busy talking to others, till one of them pointed that she is at the back, he turned to see her and raised his eyebrows asking what. She muttered I need to talk to you, so what is it tell me he asked as he takes a sip from his drinks. She looks around and realizes it’s quite full of people and said I need to speak to you privately. He looked into her and understand that she is desperate to talk to him and he leads her to the corner of the room, they came to the room corner and it’s no longer as noisy as earlier. She was fidgeting with her saree hem as she still can’t say anything once in a while she looked at him and somewhere else and he asked her are we going to stand here all night Mehak, can you please say whatever you want to say? Wait a minute you said you are going back to Delhi right? What happened now? She only manages to utter I don’t want to go to Delhi now. He raised his eyebrows hearing her and wonder what happened now? She wet her lips a few times before starting to say something but every time she only manages to say I want to say something, after that she is not continuing. She finally braves up to speak everything when Mr. Jatin’s assistant came to interrupt. Mr. Khanna is everything alright, why you are here? Mr. Jatin is looking for you to introduce you to some people, Shaurya quickly said no everything is fine to come let’s meet them up, he turned to look at Mehak and she followed him.
In the party hall, Shaurya meets and great with many guests of Mr. Jatin as Mr. Jatin told them about Shaurya’s achievement at such a young age and how he is well known in the business circle. From the corner of his eyes, Shaurya sees how Mehak being restless waiting to gain his attention. He smirked at her condition and told himself, wait for me more baby he gulped his drink down as he had that wicked grin in his face.
As Mehak looking out for him hoping his discussion over so she can talk a waiter came passing her a piece of paper, she confused when the waiter gives the paper to her, she asked who give this, he only said the sir at that corner there, when Mehak see, she saw Shaurya, she thanked him and open the note to see, it says Sweetheart meet me at Level 15 Penthouse From SK.
Mehak’s face lit up seeing the note and she looked at Shaurya, he was still busy entertaining some guests she bit her inner cheek and mumbled to herself, you know I want to talk to you something important and now sending me to note, khadoos kahinka when I meet you alone you will know what will happen to you, she left smiling the party room.
P/S: Dear readers, thank you for being patient with the delay as I was superb busy celebrating my birthday month with my family and friends. To compensate with the delay I wrote this 6 pages 4100-word length chapter excluding the songs lyrics translation because I didn’t own them.
