“SHE LOOKED AT ME …’’ and stood still in shock…….
‘’Why did you come here?’’
He looked at her and frowned
‘’I mean you came without informing me …so I asked you as such’’
‘’Wouldn’t you ask me to come in first?’’ he questioned her in-turn
‘’Sure…please come in’’ she gave way to him and closed the door, closing her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath and moved towards him……..
‘’So you are staying here …good….and I am sure you are happy to settle here leaving me…I mean everything there far away …am I right?’’ he spoke curtly looking around the house…..
‘’please…we decided to be best friends and after everything was spoken about and dealt with I came here…why are you saying like that or I am must say why are you taunting me’’ she said
‘’Really? Was everything really dealt with or spoken about? You were in so much hurry that I had to nod YES and agree to you without thinking anything…as I usually did every time ‘’ he spoke being sad
‘’Ok fine…we will talk about it later….what will you have? You might be tired after a long flight….first take shower and come ….meanwhile I will arrange for lunch ‘’ she requested him
‘’Hmmmm…as usual ..how can I deny you ?’’ he obliged
She smiled while her heart was pounding with happiness …..she met him after a really long time…..she tried to forget him and move on considering him as best friend ……but little could she forget the bond with him from her end…..today when he is before her she didn’t understand what to speak and how to react…….many questions were coming to her mind but she didn’t want to ask him as she knew him….she knew he would without asking, answer all her questions……
She went to the kitchen and prepared his diet food and ensured to cook everything he liked and preferred to eat….
He came back after the shower and sat in the couch waiting for her to call him for lunch…….he was trying to distract himself from looking towards her and concentrate on the TV …but it was getting impossible for him to take his eyes from her…….
She too was stealing glimpses from him….and trying to concentrate on her work of cooking…..
Both of them were on same page…an excitement, a happiness , a feeling of completeness , an unexplained peace…….but still trying to avoid to show their emotional side to each other……
‘’Come have your lunch…I hope you will like what will be served to you’’ she spoke
‘’I will for sure give my verdict even if you don’t ask….’’ He replied
He sat and she plated everything she did prepare for him and served him affectionately…..he was overwhelmed and ate more than he does regularly…..he ate beyond his limit only because she served him insisting……after he was done…….she was setting the table back when he held her hand and made her sit……..
She looked at him surprisingly…….
‘’Where are the plates?’’ he asked her
‘’There in the second rack above the platform ‘’ she said pointing towards kitchen still in surprise ..
And when he was unable to find she got up to show him… when he found the plates…..and spoke
‘’Stop…don’t get up…I am not that much dumb to not find …yeah I agree that I take time in understanding things…’’ he said pointedly…..
She smiled and sat back ………and looked at him….
SHE was SUMO and HE was RUDRA
‘’Ask your question …what are you waiting for?’’ Rudra said
‘’No..nothing..i have nothing to ask..’’ Sumo fumbled
‘’So you started lying too…I can see many questions on your face…I am waiting for you to ask…’’ Rudra said firmly
Sumo was looking at him in disbelief while her heart smiled as she knew he understands her more than anyone else and can know what’s running in her heart and mind……
‘’well your first question might be …why have I asked you to sit and why was I asking for the plates?’’ Rudra said giving an intelligent wala look
‘’yes..’’ Sumo said instantly and then immediately ‘’I mean…I mean ..nothing like that’’ she spoke
‘’ok fine I know what you mean…but still I will answer…I asked you to sit so that now I can serve you with my hands and make you eat…and I am sure you haven’t eaten anything since morning….well obviously I need plate to serve you so I asked for the plates’’ Rudra looked into her eyes……..
Sumo thought she was dreaming..and looking into his eyes she ate while he was feeding her…..tears ran through her eyes and this time he didn’t stop them nor wiped them….after he made her eat…….he left to the kitchen and placed the plate for cleaning and held the sink and let his tears out………she noticed but she too didn’t try to stop him……both composed themselves and smiled at each other…..
They sat back trying to avoid that uneasy environment which aroused may be for the first time in their life……she couldn’t bear the silence and he too………they both at once spoke
‘’So ‘’ and smiled ……..
‘’ You ask first ‘’ he spoke like a gentleman
‘’No..you go ahead’’ she replied
‘’Ladies first’’ Rudra replied
‘’OK fine……..i was trying to ask you …why are you here…any work or to …’’ she couldn’t complete
He understood the rest of her question
‘’or to meet you…were you trying to ask this ?’’ he shot her with the question
Sumo nodded in agreement
‘’yes ..i am here to attend a wedding….they insisted so I had to come …I thought to come on the same day of wedding but I wanted to meet you and spend time with you too…I wouldn’t lie about that….as I was ‘’ he stopped and looked into her eyes….
Her eyes were glowing with a layer of happy tears
‘’As I was missing you badly ‘’ he made his point clear…….
Sumo smiled…….
‘’So will you show me your country as much as you can in these four days? Before that do you have time for me to do so? ‘’ he shooted his series of questions
‘’yes..i have time and I promise you will see the best of places before you leave from here’’ Sumo replied
‘’then’’ he stopped remembering their deal of NO SORRY’S AND NO THANK YOU’S and smiled ……..
‘’So what are you waiting for? We are done with lunch and I have only three and a half days…I don’t want to waste a minute more…come let’s move’’ he said excitedly
‘’But now? Don’t you want to rest for a little time? You had such a long flight? Take rest we can see the most wonderful places in three days’’ she spoke
‘’Not a minute to be wasted and I am already relaxing as you are near me , with me’’ Rudra flirtingly said
‘’you did not change a bit Duffer’’ Sumo excitingly said
‘’Duffer…Duffer…how long have I heard someone say this to me with full rights…..thank you…thank you for remembering me with the name you gave me’’ he said
She was struck at his words……..
‘’ok fine..i can’t come out like this…let me change first….i will be back in a few minutes ‘’ she left from there without waiting for his response…….
Rudra POV ‘’I will give you so much of memories in this three and a half days that you will never want to leave me and come with me to spend rest of your life with me..my actual purpose of coming here is only this ’’
Minutes passed by but she didn’t turn up…he got up and stepped towards her room…he saw her and smiled……while she was having tough time to up her zip of a damn S**Y dress…….he moved near her and upped the zip making his fingers touch her bare back…….she closed her eyes unable to bear the pleasure of his touch. He saw her through mirror….she closed her eyes …he smiled and left from there…..After a minute or so she opened her eyes smiled to herself and followed him…..
The three days they roamed everywhere….Rudra said her everything about the lives in OM except his life…….and they even came close to each other….he used to get excited with the beauty of the country as well as Sumo’s……they went to beaches, parks, museums, pubs , grounds …did sky diving, bungy jumping and scuba diving…..they ate, drank , danced, partied , made pranks and enjoyed their lives to fullest….He shopped and carried her shopping bags too….
The last half day was left and Rudra asked that they should spend time in her house …Sumo obliged………
They returned home and settled themselves comfortably…later he made his favourite protein shake and also gave her chips…..
Sumo smiled broadly and they both were finding words to start a conversation…..trying to avoid looks …it was funny for both of them as the past three days they spent without any inhibitions and at that moment they were experiencing an awkward silence………
‘’so what have you decided ? are you coming back to where you belong to or have you decided to stay back here and settle’’ he asked trying to know her opinion
‘’not planned anything..have stopped believing destiny and going with the time accepting everything coming in my way’’ Sumo replied sadly………
‘’Why don’t you start believing once again…who knows whatever you wish you might get it readily before you’’ Rudra said while moving closer towards her …….
Sumo was getting absorbed in his eyes…….and the same was the case with him……
Sumo POV ‘’I wish I could spend rest of my life with you…as I have spent the last three days…….you can’t even imagine how much I missed you all these days, months and years….i wish I could turn back the time and let you know my true feelings on the day I decided to part away from you……I wish you could feel the same as I feel and am feeling now…..I LOVE YOU …YES I LOVE YOU ‘’
‘’Did you say something ‘’ Rudra moved much closer to her….
She nodded her head in NO …..
‘’ Why ?’’ he asked placing his fingers over her face and moving towards her chin
‘’What should I say ?’’ she answered with Shivering lips…….
‘’Anything ..because I just want to listen to you ‘’ he stopped his fingers at her lips……..
‘’Please….this is wrong’’ she closed her eyes unable to control his proximity……….
‘SSShhhhh….nothing is wrong ‘’ he spoke huskily closing the distance between them……
He too couldn’t control more and placed his lips on hers and what started with a conversation ended into a completion of kiss …a kiss of their long last love………they were not aware how much time they were into an another world ..but when they opened their eyes…..it seemed to them that the time shouldn’t have moved forward……
Quickly they moved far and turned their faces and after sometime they left to their rooms…that night they didn’t face each other neither at dining table , nor while watching their favourite cartoon together…..
When they were about to go to sleep…somehow he spoke gaining confidence …….
‘’Will you come with me tomorrow to the wedding? ‘’ Rudra asked
‘’NO’’ Sumo replied
‘’But why? I mean you will enjoy’’ he said hopefully
‘’I can’t spend any more time with you…rather I don’t want to spend any more time with you…sleep for tonight and leave …and please don’t come back again ..as …..’’ she said turning away from him while trying to control her emotions and complete her sentence
‘’As …it might become difficult for you to stay far away from me anymore…am I right?’’ he said
Sumo turned at once towards him and said ‘’no…nothing like that’’
Rudra ‘’Is it …are you sure …you are saying the truth? You also understand and I also understand that we both ‘’
‘’That we both are best friends…..only best friends’’ she cut his sentence and completed her sentence
Rudra smiled fakely and said ‘’Yeah best friends…correct… but… do best friends lock their lips in passion? Do best friends forget their world while they look into each other’s eyes? Do best friends feel the same pain when they are away from each other? Or do best friends ..’’
‘’Ok fine we are not best friends but we are much more than that…..but still I want you to leave me alone….we are good , no… we are better if we stay apart……and never come near’’ Sumo said with extreme sadness
‘’look at me…..’’ Rudra lifted her chin up towards him and continued
‘’Did I do wrong or say wrong that you are asking me to leave…if you wish I will leave at this moment and never come back…but let me know the reason why you are saying so?’’ he requested
‘’Yes..you did wrong….very wrong….you know I used to call you almost twice in a week when I came here …later did you ever think why I stopped calling you? Did you ever ask me? Did you ever think of me or tried to contact me? You were a Casanova and you still are… you moved on so quickly that after a month of my coming here you found another girl and brought her into your life….when I found this out I broke within myself…I never felt to contact you again….i expected that you would prove me wrong …but rather you let it know the whole world that you got married….did you ever think how I would feel? You just let me off so quickly…….and after months you came back here and are trying to get me back….’’ Sumo spoke in one go……….
He was stunned to listen to her conversations and spoke
Rudra ‘’I never knew you think such about me…….yes I announced my marriage but that was not……..’’
‘’Are you trying to say that marriage was not real ? ‘’ Sumo retorted
‘’yes…exactly…we had to make an announcement under some troublesome situations and this is the truth’’ he replied
‘’Please…..please…..i beg you ….don’t say any more lies….i will not be able to gather myself……whatever time we spent these three and a half days is enough for me to spend my rest of life……’’ she spoke gathering courage
‘’If that was the case…and if you didn’t trust me or you thought me to be a Casanova then why did you allow me to stay here …why did you allow me to be with you as I used to be with you before’’ he questioned
‘’Initially when I saw you I was shocked and I thought of not letting you in…but I couldn’t do so because I stayed in your house and gained so much love from everybody for years……then I was happy to give you back the same I got in your house…….these three days I forgot everything or may be you made me forget everything…….i agree… I lost my sense completely these three days and when I got my sense sometime back I am saying what is right for both of us………’’ Sumo looked at him with much confidence now………
‘’Fine …I am leaving this moment because you don’t want to know the truth …as you think whatever you know is the only truth….but before leaving I want to say something…..it’s true I brought her home and announced marriage but I never felt the same with any other girl as I felt with you…if you can only understand what I mean…….i am not losing hope…I will message you the venue details…if possible come there to know the truth…day after tomorrow I am going back……and may be this is the last time I am coming here’’ Rudra said and left from there to take his luggage…
Sumo sat down crying ….and when he came down…she wiped her tears and stared at him leaving……he looked at her for a moment and left from there……..

Rudra was trying to enjoy himself and was looking as if Sumo will come ..somewhere his heart felt this time she would come….but it was getting late and he found her nowhere……..
He returned to the mandap and smiled seeing the bride and groom……he congratulated the couple and informed them that he will be leaving now as he has decided to take the same day night flight…….
Bhavya ‘’Rudra tum uska wait nahi karoge’’
‘’Nahi …shayad bahut der ho chuki hain’’ he replied
‘’Par ek koshish aur kar sakte hona Rudra’’ Ryan said
Rudra smiled and kept his hand on his shoulder and pressed it ……..’’I am getting late’’ he moved …….
Bhavya and Ryan bid him bye sadly………and returned to perform other rituals……..

Rudra returned after attending the wedding…….and straight away moved towards his room……..
Shivaay ‘’Rudra…finally my brother is back’’
He hugged him ……..Om also joined the hug
Rudra ‘’I missed both of you…..and I have decided next time I will not leave you and go anywhere’’
Shivaay ‘’grow up Rudra…..now you have responsibilities to take up’’
Rudra ‘’Bhayya please…I want to be the same as I am …and as long as you both are on my side…I can live my life normally ‘’
Om ‘’so much of philosophy…this doesn’t suit you Ru’’
Rudra smiled sadly
Shivaay ‘’What happened …ohh ya by the way did you meet Sumo? How is she ? ‘’
Rudra ‘’she is good…she is happy too……’’
Om ‘’as you are happy …am I right’’
Rudra was in thoughts
Shivaay ‘’Ok fine..i am sure you had a tiring long journey…so go to your room and rest’’
Rudra nodded and again started towards his room………all the while he was going he was stopped by Dadi, Jhanvi, Gauri, tej and Shakthi……
After getting relieved from their questions and wishes he finally entered the room and threw the Luggage aside and fell on the bed ……when he heard sounds coming from washroom……..he sprang up from the bed and without knocking the door straight away entered ………
‘’AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA’’ Sumo screamed with lather all over face
‘’AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA’’ Rudra screamed much bigger seeing her in such a state
‘’Tum’’ he composed himself and asked her
‘’Haan mein…tumhe koi problem hain’’ she exclaimed washing her face
‘’Par tum yaha kaise ..i mean tum mujhse wapas milna nahi chahthi thi’’ he again asked
‘’tum khush ho ya dukhi……’’ she replied
‘’off course mein khush hoon moti’’ he hugged her smearing the left over lather on her face over his ‘’MEIN BAHUT KHUSH HOON aur ‘’
‘’aur I LOVE YOU DUFFER’’ she said placing her hand around his shoulder looking at him in the mirror….
‘’I LOVE YOU TOO MOTI ‘’ he replied looking towards her in the mirror…
‘’Par aise kaise tum yaha’’ Rudra questioned her
Sumo ‘’Shivaay bhayya aur Om bhayya se baat kiya tumhare jaane ke baad tab pata chala yaha kya kya huan..aur mein kitni galat thi….’’
Sumo turned towards Rudra and held her ears and innocently said ‘’I AM SORRY DUFFER….MAINE TUMHE BAHUT HURT KIYA…Mujhe maaf kar do’’
‘’ Mein bhi Sorry…….tumhe bahut pareshaan kiya…’’ Rudra spoke touching his forehead with hers……
They heard a knock on the door and then heard a scream
‘’WASHROOM MEIN ITNI DER ROMANCE NAHI KARTHE RuMya’’
They both came out and hugged ShivOm and together said ‘’THANK YOU BHAYYA’’
