Hindi GEC shows have always created concepts that have involved child artists. While we can say that every TV show is built around a male lead, female lead and antagonist, it is not wrong if we say that most of the shows also look to add the flavour of having stories that involve children in them. The pre-Covid normal phase has in fact seen many stories being focused around kids. Choti Sarrdaarni the Colors show has been a very recent example wherein the main concept of the show was seen hovering around kid/kids. Many of the shows which take leaps and run for long, do engage with kids. A perfect example is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, wherein the kids have played pivotal roles.

Well, while a lot of restrictions were put up for shoot during the Covid-hit phase, during the first lockdown last year, and also this year during the second lockdown, it has not stopped broadcasters and makers to work around stories involving kids. The child power on Hindi TV is enormous, and even during the tough pandemic phase, many of the child actors have mustered the courage to shoot and deliver to their perfection. Kudos to Colors show Barrister Babu for handling their story really well, around their child artiste Aurra Bhatnagar, aka Bondita.

Aarambh Sehgal aka Kairav of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the Star Plus show has been shooting all through the pandemic phase and has been a big asset to the show.

Pandya Store the Star Plus show which launched in January this year started off with kids Harminder Singh, Jovian Fernandes, Swarnim Neema giving the show a great start.

Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha the Star Plus show kick-started a new track with the entry of child artist Mahi Soni during the second wave of pandemic.

Yeh Hai Chahatein the Star Plus show has had child actor Yagya Bhasin shooting for the show with elan.

Zee TV has shows like Tujhse Hai Raabta, Qurbaan Hua, Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti having equal importance for the child artists.

Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2 the Star Bharat show also had child artists taking centre stage. The same holds good for the shows Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi – Nayi Kahani on Sony TV, Namak Issk Ka on Colors, Punyashlok Ahilya Bai on Sony TV, Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey on Sony SAB, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin on Star Plus, Rakshabandhan Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhaal on Dangal. These shows have been going splendidly well with children playing pivotal roles in the show.

The newly launched show on Colors, Balika Vadhu 2 is focused on child marriage and has Shreya Patel and Vansh Sayani playing leads. The show which launched just few weeks back started with a very cute newborn kid being part of the show.

The upcoming show on Star Plus, Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei, also has the concept revolving around a mother looking for her daughter. The show has many child actors being part of it.

Certainly, just like how a home is made complete with the arrival of a kid, the television industry feels complete with the addition of more and more children into their shows and plots. A lot of child artists like Aurra Bhatnagar, Aditi Jaltare, Aarambh Sehgal, Kevina Tak and many more have really won the hearts of one and all with their amazing portrayal.

Kudos to the Child Power that our television industry is blessed with!! Covid or no Covid, the show will certainly go on, with the little masters always enthralling the TV viewing audiences!!
